Love the burgers here. You can’t go wrong. Today was a long wait and we got there at 1pm. We waited almost an hour. The burger was worth the wait. Have gone down on the size of French fries. So ran out. Overall a great place.

We went today for lunch, around 1:15. Large crowd, but everybody seemed happy… and why not? They were going to have the best burger anywhere. We each had a cheeseburger, all the way, and split an order of fries. Everything was outstanding… as it has been the other times we ate there. Again, if you are looking for a fine dining spot, you will be disappointed. You sit outside with the other folks, shooing away the occasional fly, but if you want the best burger you will ever have, it’s worth it. Do yourself a BIG favor and pay a visit to Jay & Diane. They are open 11 – 7 everyday except Sunday. Good folks, too.

Yup. Everything others says is true. This is a whole in the wall joint right on the river. It does not look like much but it has it where it counts. Some of the best burgers I have ever eaten. Nothing else though, fries were meh but who cares with a huge juice burger???

Two words: patty melt. We did have trouble finding the place at first, but once we did we were set(it’s across the street from Daisy’s). I had the patty melt with onion rings and hubs and kiddo had cheeseburgers with tater tots. The patty melt was to die for — perfectly seasoned and very melty! Will definitely back anytime.

The Double Ringer was Amazing, best we’ve ever had. If you are in the area stop here, if not its worth the drive. Very Nice staff, thanks Jay(we didn’t meet Diane, next time)! RC Drilling

We have been visiting Jay and Diane’s for several years now !!! I have never, ever, been disappointed !!! Simply put, This is the greatest burger ive ever eaten !!! I have eaten Burgers around this country(made that a point of indulgence while in the military) and these top them all.(even ate a $ 100 hamburger meal in florida on a dare 1 time). I stopped one time and he was closed, saw him the next week and asked why, and he gave me the perfect answer, «our fresh meat didn’t come in, so I wasn’t going to serve old meat». Wow !!! Someone who cares about the food more then the profit !!! I bet I have told 1000 + people about this place, and will forever do so. You cant miss here, my mouth is watering just thinking about it !!!

My sister told me we had to try this place while I was visiting Canyon Lake, and she got no argument from me. We had a ridiculously calorie laden frito pie & loaded tots. Mmmmmm mmmm GOOD. Excellent value — huge portions, and definitely made to order. If it’s this good in the off season, I can only imagine this place is hopping in the summer. Give it a try…

If you are on the north side of Canyon Lake, and you get hungry, this may be the place you need to try. However, you may have a little trouble finding. It’s on the north side of the highway close to the river, but it does not face the highway. With more than 40 reviews, and a 5 star rating, this is definitely a place to try. As we were heading by it, we decided to make today the day we did. We walked up to the counter underneath the patio cover, and a nice lady opened the window to help us. My wife and I ordered burgers and split a combination of fries and rings. The food takes a while as everything is made to order. Since it was so cold and windy today, we decided to eat in our car(there is no inside seating). The food came out fresh and hot. Take a look at the picture I took and see if you think it looks like they just cut a fresh tomatoe. The burgers were really good but did not make it into my top 5. The fries were really good, but the rings were just ok. I did not have any catsup and that may have impacted my opinion on the rings. Will I go back? Definitely when in the area.

Burgers were big and meat was seasoned well. Buns were buttered! Fries were frozen, but most are. We love to eat outside and today was a nice warm winter day to enjoy fresh air at the picnic tables. If only they didnt have the aluminum can cage so close. The bees and red hornets were too friendly with the customers.

The burgers were great but everything else was above average. They do give you large quantities of food and are in a great location. It was very friendly and there was tube rentals right next door. All in all a great little place to grab a bite the after a long day of tubing.

Pretty damn good burgers! They are huge because they use lean meat that doesn’t shrink(I asked). Seasoned great! Fresh brewed tea, good fried sides too(all of them, we tried)! Hole in the wall, basically a stand with some of box tables, suburb after a day of tubing… right next to the Guadalupe river. Go!

The burger here was fantastic. The fries were average plain fries. The fried pickles were great. They were nice thick please called slices.

First time here and boy am I coming back! Burgers were juicy, to the ends of the bun and filling! Very impressed! Glad we stopped. From the road it doesn’t appear like a place you would stop. Trust me, stop! You won’t regret it. They do not sell beer but the place right across the parking lot does. Also ok if you drink your own. :-) I’m truly impressed this little hole in the wall produced such great food!

I was all set to bring Jay & Diane’s down a notch. I mean, come on, almost thirty 5 star reviews from Unilocalers with very few(if any) other reviews or Unilocal friends is usually a red flag that someone has been unfairly trying to rig the system with a bunch of dummy accounts. It can’t *possibly* be as good as they are saying… Well, I beg your pardon for my jaded attitude. Yes it can and it is! See Richard F. s glowing review from late 2014 for a much more eloquent and detailed description of the burger than I can muster. I’ll only add that this thing was the epitome of fresh, highest quality, old fashioned American cheese burger. The classic single($ 5.25) takes both hands to hold(maybe ¾ lb?), and I’d normally stop at just half(gotta keep my figure in check, ya know), but this burger was just so dang tasty I kept on going until I’d scarfed down the whole thing. I’ll gladly run a few extra miles to pay for that indulgence. We had 4 adults in our party, each of whom has tasted the best of cuisines from around the globe though all happen to appreciate a perfectly prepared fast food dish. The whole table was a chorus of pleasure groans while we consumed this meal. The iced tea($ 1.50) is perfect and served in a bottomless(free refills) 32 ounce cup with what appears to be hand-chipped ice. I don’t know how they produce that ice, but it was the perfectly chewable kind which gave me and my sister(a fellow ice cruncher) considerable satisfaction on a muggy evening. Other than our burgers and teas, we sampled an assortment of the fried sides. Okra and pickle chips($ 3.50 each) were crisp and not overly greasy, both served with a side of ranch, naturally. Onion rings and tots($ 2.50 each) were similarly crisped and a bit more oily, but plenty appealing still. None of these sides were any kind of revelation, so if you’re wavering on where to focus your calorie budget for this meal, I’d say skip the sides and add another patty to your glorious meat sandwich. Or, you can go hard and order the Double Ringer for $ 10(2 big patties, cheese, bacon, peppers, grilled onions, and onion rings), perhaps fulfilling all of your gluttonous urges for the rest of the year. Look at it! Just in case you didn’t know, I should mention that Jay & Diane’s is a tiny roadside stand, not much more than a food truck really, but they have a homey shaded patio for around 15 – 20 diners. They lease part of the front yard at Andy’s Tube rentals and share Andy’s outdoor restrooms(which are frankly a bit gross from river tuber abuse). From the personalized service we received by Jay and his staff, I gather this is a lovingly tended family business and these folks most certainly understand how to deliver hospitality. The walk from here to Whitewater Amphitheater is quick & easy, maybe a quarter mile just to cross the river & walk through the parking lot to the venue’s entrance. If you time it right, you can have your Jay & Diane’s burger just before showtime, keep your car parked here for quick exit later(for the same $ 10 fee charged by WW), and sip your giant iced tea refill on the walk over to the venue.
