Worst sushi experience I have ever had. I entered at about 6 with my fiancé. We ordered drinks and soup. When the soup and drinks arrived we ordered out meals. Before the meal was ready we had to get up and ask to leave. There were a multitude of flies attacking our drinks. To top that off when I poured the soy spice out into my soup, three dead flies came out with it. They charged me for the soups and drinks and never even said sorry after I showed them why I was leaving. Terrible. The two stars is only because the drink I had was good.

One of the worst service experiences ever! Our server was taking care of too many tables and hence it was difficult to get her attention to order. There were two parties seated nearby who arrived after we ordered and received their appetizers AND entrees before us! We got our edamame a minute before our sushi came out. It looked frozen because of how uneven the salt was spread on it. The food was actually not bad — we got the Angel, Dragon and Volcano rolls. Again our waitress took forever to take the bill and after 5 minutes we summoned someone else to take it. She serviced several tables before doing a simple credit card swipe. We regret tipping her. Do not come here unless you want to leave in a bad mood.

Very satisfied! I ordered online for pickup during my lunch break. I ordered the Japanese lunch box and couldn’t believe how much food it came with for only $ 10! It was done exactly on time while still being hot when I ate it. Staff was very friendly and food was delicious and kept me full. Will definitely be coming back for lunch.

I give them a one star based on my first time and last time of eating the most expensive Chinese operated Japanese restaurant with food that’s just mediocre. The unadon or eel over rice cost $ 18.00 for a few thin slices. This is more expensive than a Unilocal $$$ Japanese in Manhattan. If you are a New Yorker whether from the city or the suburbs and you are not acquainted with Japanese food, this is not the place to go. Unilocal another spot in nearby Queens. Trust me, plenty of places to get Japanese for half cost and double the smile.

My 1st time getting food from here. Taken from some places sometimes isn’t pleasant. My daughter and I are really enjoying the food. It’s well prepared and well laid out even for takeout. I would definitely go back.

I have only had takeout delivered to my office from here. the food itself gets 5 stars — 6 or 7 if I could — they give a nice 20% off for ordering online — which is fast and convenient. I shorted them a star because repeatedly — asked for spicy may on the side and never got it. There is a space for special instructions but its a crap shoot if they read it or not. I have had the 2 roll and 3 roll lunch specials — their regular rolls are generous and fresh and delicious. I have had a few of the special rolls: the sushi sandwich ABSOLUTELYDELICIOUS, and although there is no «Naruto» style rolls, you can request that any roll be prepared with cucumber wrapped and no rice —(This special request was honored) Today I ordered the Tom Yam soup — not quite spicy enough and a bit short on the shrimp :(and a few SHARP inedible chunks of lemongrass? Their menu is easy to read, comprehensive descriptions for all items. I am a big fan.

Excellent service and quality rolls! We ordered 3 special rolls«Christmas Roll, Curry Salman and One Special Tuna Roll(forgot the name)» along with a cocktail, Banana Strawberry Shake and Fried Calamari … The order took a while to come but extremely fulfilling. Everything was fresh and rolls were buttery and plentiful … full points…

Showed up at 10:00. First thing I was told was that they were closing at 11:00, followed by an odd awkward silence, as if they were trying to deter us from dining there. I guess they don’t want to serve people in their last hour of operating for the day. When we sat down, our waitress barely gave us time and seemed bothered when we wanted a second to look over the menu. Once we put our orders in, we didn’t see the waitress for another ten minutes before our appetizer came out. The Rock Shrimp was okay. We got one roll each for our main course. Both were mediocre. Only reason we went was because we got a coupon in the mailer advertising 25% off any order over $ 25. We definitely won’t be going back. Especially within a few hours of closing.

I feel like this place is very hidden in the corner of a random shopping center. May be why there were not many people there when we went on Thursday night for dinner; I’m not sure if it’s normally more crowded. Service was great since there were not many tables so that was a plus for us! I went here with a Groupon– paid $ 17 for $ 25 worth of food+ 2 beers for 2 people. I got the yellow beauty roll(cream cheese, shrimp tempura, mango) and it surprised me how yummy it was(I don’t normally love mango but I loved the shrimp and cream cheese part). We each got miso soups, 2 specialty rolls, and 2 beers and had to pay maybe 15 $ extra in addition to what I paid for the groupon($ 32 for 2 people), not too bad. I liked it here, but I naturally compared it to Nisen or MoCa, my favorite LI sushi places. This is more casual and cheaper, if you’re looking for that. I’d come back if I got another good deal.

We’ve eaten at Kisoro several times. The taste of their sushi is among the best in the area. On our first visit, some of the rolls were a bit loose and they were falling apart when we were picking them up. Still, the taste was stellar. The dining room is pretty spacious with a combination of booths and tables plus a few curtained off areas if your group size merits it. The service is always exceptional and the staff bring specials at times just as a thank you for your service. This has happened more than once when we were here. The rolls have gotten tighter too. One of us asked about getting the rolls without rice and they indicated that this was not a problem. The snow crab pizza appetizer is amazing. I’ve had the curry salmon and also the spicy tuna. Both has incredible taste. I’ve never been to Kisoro when it was crowded unfortunately. It is located in a shopping center that may not draw the right crowd. There is a Red Lobster a few doors down. The food here is far too good to not have this place crowded. A group of 4 for dinner and our check has varied from $ 100 to 130 or so depending on appetizers and the number of rolls we’ve ordered. Worth the price and the trip despite the proximity to Roosevelt Field Mall.

While the décor is somewhat tacky(it’s a typical Long Island sushi join in a mall… what do you expect?) the food is surprisingly good with a rich selection. I tend to judge the quality on the basics: rice quality, fish freshness and presentation and Kisoro is above average on all three. The price is fair and the service is great. Thought they are not Nobu, but amongst ever growing LI sushi restaurants with ever growing average quality, it’s refreshing to find a place that stands out.

This is my second time getting takeout from this place. For my first meal I had ordered sushi rolls with brown rice, and the brown rice was just plain, dry brown rice from the kitchen, not sushi rice. This time I had the Kisoro sashimi salad, a yellowtail roll and a salmin roll. The Kisoro Sashimi Salad was disappointing. Hardly any fish but enough Kani and Tomago. Would have preferred more fish and no tomago, especially for the $ 8. I didn’t even see tomago listed on the menu as an ingredient — unless that is what they are referring to with«tako»? And I’m pretty sure they didn’t give me any salmon. The salmon roll and yellowtail roll were just fine. I’d probably be back again for a quick roll takeout, though I’d prefer if they had sushi brown rice for the rolls.

My experience here started off on the wrong foot and I was so close to leaving and finding someplace else to eat(SO glad I stayed!) My waitress came to take my drink order and the first three things I asked for, they«ran out» of. She seemed so disinterested and unapologetic about it, I was totally turned off. Mind you it was around 1pm on a Saturday afternoon, there was only one other party in the restaurant. After deciding to stay, I ordered the shrimp hibachi lunch special with fried rice and a chicken tempura role. I also got a lychee martini, my fiancé ordered a Mai tai and the chicken hibachi. She got our sushi order wrong, and THEN asked if we heard about the place through Unilocal. When we said yes, she was very apologetic and removed $ 2(which she OVERCHARGED us when she got the order wrong) from our bill. On to the good news. The food is great! They give you a large portion of dried rice, with 5 pieces of juicy shrimp which was expected since it was an $ 8 lunch special. The rice was well flavored and the shrimp tempura roll that I didn’t order was very good also. Drinks were awesome too, my fiancé and I both left full and happy. Our bill came out to a little over $ 50. Though small, the restaurant is cute inside and I’d probably return in hopes of having better service!

My co-worker and I were in the area for business. She and I were in the mood for sushi. We stopped in to check it out. The customer service is excellent. The sushi fresh and delish. We had to stop by again on the following trip to. Definitely try this place if you’re in the area.
