I have had Brockway multiple times and I believe they have the best burger in town! I recently just visited Brockway, and I got the Irish nachos with ground beef and it was a perfect size and was flavorful. My favorite thing from Brockway is the cheddar burger with the house made chips! The service was excellent also! I recommend this place to everyone!

I finally got to check this place out thanks to my friend at DO317 who I won $ 50 worth of gift cards from. We decided to go on a Sunday evening after the Thanksgiving holiday. While they weren’t busy, it looked like the aftershock of their major Holiday bash a few days prior had still not subsided. My initial impression was that this was more of a place to drink(a lot at that) rather than dine. The exterior and interior was lined with dozens upon dozens of empty kegs from the event that week. The table we sat at was filthy to start and food service was incredibly slow. Our serve brought out our appetizer and then a few minutes later brought out my partners main course but not my sandwich. He didn’t mention anything about my dinner so I patiently waited. Eventually i flagged him down and asked about my Ruben. He said he needed to check and when he came back, informed me he forgot to ‘push send’ on my sandwich order so it just went in. No sorry, no attempt to accommodate or anything, just a woopsie! We weren’t in a hurry and my boyfriend was kind enough to share so we just shook it off. No discount or comp to our bill but since I was paying with gifted cards it didn’t bother me. The Fish in the Fish and Chips were greasy and slightly burnt. I really liked the dill tarter sauce. My Ruben was seeping in grease but was otherwise flavorful and had a good crunch. My boyfriend was super impressed with the beer selection and quality of his brew. Our only observation was that several of the wait staff, bartenders and kitchen staff were constantly running outside for a cigarette. We were seated near the door so noticed this more than others might. Even when we left there were 4 employees out right by the front door smoking. My boyfriend and I left joking that it must have been one hell of a party earlier in the week to go through that many kegs and to leave the employees reaching for a cigarette every 10 min. I think if we would have come on another night, not after a big shindig, that we most likely would have had a very different experience.

Can’t comment on the food. Never got the chance. The service here is awful. I Walked in and found a table. One lady was standing behind the bar and doing nothing. A second guy was serving tables and walked past me three times. Finally he grabbed a jacket and cigarette and went outside to smoke. I was never acknowledged. After five minutes I left.

So i’ve been to not a few Irish pubs in Ireland and all over the world… Indianapolis certainly rates having decent Irish pubs — but in a posh strip mall? Well, the first time I cam here, they were having an honest to goodness wake. There was a buffet and musicians. Very surprising to see this in Indy!(No, the body wasn’t there — there is only so much authenticity that the Indiana Dept. of Health will allow) They have standard pub fare here and a good selection of Irish and local beers. The ambience is typical but you can get a pretty private table if you want. Worth a stop if you’re nearby.

Entertaining selection of brews. Hummus is very good — needs some improvement on the quality of the vegis and chips tho. Celery was pitiful. Fish & chips A+ on the chips; C on the fish — well battered & cooked but just not as tasty(fresh) as I’d like. Chili was very good. Interesting mixture of spice & texture. Service was spot on. I’m going back.

Fun place! Great summer hangout! All of my friends love their pub chips and beers. I’m GF so I stick with their grilled chicken and wine. Head’s up: service is slow, but most of the servers are nice.

Shepherds pie excellent, Guinness was $ 4, 15 or so decent beer selection from $ 5 a pint. Worth a go for your typical Irish pub, but cleaner!

Fish and chips were great and so was the beer. Was here on a business trip and was recommended that I check this place out for dinner and it did not disappoint. It’s a pub environment(duh, public house) so expect that when you come in. They’ve got a decent selection of beer but let’s face it you’re there for the Irish beer. Everyone there was friendly and I’ve got absolutely no complaints. Would go back again.

I ordered the BLT with kettle chips. The food was good and the décor was pretty neat.

I live only a couple miles from this place but somehow have never seen it? It wasn’t bad– I ate my food, but it just wasn’t as good as I expected it to be. I ordered the Chicken and Ranch Salad and it was iceberg lettuce with okay dressing. My friend ordered the Margarita Flatbread and said it was alright. We were starving at the time but don’t think we’d choose to go here for dinner again. That being said, it definitely has the pub vibe and would be better for drinks later in the evening probably. The main selling point is the great, open-air location. The place opens up onto Old Meridian in the building connected to Yats and Stacked Pickle. The whole front half is open to the outside and there’s a great patio with a lot of seating.

I love a good fish and chips being British by birth. I read great reviews of their fish and chips so ordered it. The food came fast. The waitress was nice and helpful. The fish itself was excellent but ruined by far too much batter so that between the lovely fish and a great crunchy outside was a thick layer of floury slime. I find that I am not the first to feel this way. My waitress did offer me a different meal if I wanted but I didn’t have time. But full marks for that. It was 3 pm ish so the restaurant was almost empty

OK, Summary first. Do you like pubs? Pub food? OK, this is the place to go! Now for the adventure. It was a long day. I won’t go into how bad work went… Just in case the boss reads this. He doesn’t need to know. Anyway, I got it all fixed, about 3 hours after my planned stop time. Get to the hotel and hit up Unilocal for close places to eat. I’m tired, it’s late. I found a place close by. New to the area so I’m looking for close. Seems the roads were closed at the roundabout. Bummer. So a U-turn later I finally find the spot I picked. Oops. It’s a hotel restaurant. OK, probably fine, but not what I’m looking for. So I turn around and head back down the road. I see this place on the corner that looks good and pull into the next road. WAIT! Here’s an Irish Pub. Hmmm… Sounds right. No point in going back to the place I saw. So I park and walk in. Not too busy. Seat yourself kind of place. That’s cool. I grab the bar. Now for the meat of it. Good pub menu. Burgers, salads, good appetizers. I had the Fish and Chips and a pint of their Mac Daddy Ale(I think that’s right). The food was hot, and great. The brew was excellent. Now there’s more. I hear some music. Turns out there’s a group of Irish guys drop by and play tunes in exchange for food and/or beer. Real Irish feel to the place. The barkeep Michael was super. Attentive, good attitude. Good conversation when appropriate. So all in all, I look for a place that makes me feel at home when I’m out of town. This is that kind of place. You need to drop by when you get a chance. It’s a good choice!

Nice atmosphere. Nice bartender(Jen), good Guinness pour, had the chili, extremely tasty and for me, extremely hot but I could not stop eating it. Also had the Cobb salad, solid. Decent TVs. All around winner.

Nice atmosphere & a good place spend a leisurely evening. We’ve never really had any problem with service but we go to The Brockway to relax & have a good conversation; not to grab a quick bite & rush off. When a band’s playing it’s difficult to hear but we usually go mid-week. The Dublin Crisps & Garbage Fries are pretty good appetizers. Their fish & chips are quite good & so are a few of the burgers(I like the Double Bogey). I’m more partial to lighter beers with a slightly fruity taste & they have a great pear beer which fits the bill, There is not a ton of seating which establishes it as a pub & not a bar(like BWWs). It’s colder near door & window areas so bring a jacket or sweater in cooler weather.

My Yellow Rickshaw made the last visit worthwhile. Service is never very fast there, but last night was even worse. We had to ask for our Guinness twice before they even started them. I know it should take a tick over 2 minutes to get a properly poured Guiness and they do it right there, but at least start them when they are ordered. I noticed one of the servers just kind of pushing people out of his way without so much as an «excuse me» and he never smiled. the quality of their beer and whiskey selection keeps me going back. I just go less often because of the service.

Such a cute Irish pub! Honestly, Carmel would usually be the last place I looked for a chill pub to grab a drink and«just hang out.» A good friend of mine took me here to celebrate St. Patty’s Day and I must say, I was very pleased. The drink menu was spot on and their fish and chips — um, they just might be the best. SOGOOD. And I mean — so good. The pub is laid out in a way that most of the seating can be intimate. They have several tables tucked away in nooks and crannies. I loved the layout. Our service was great and the pricing made sense. All in all, a great pub experience in Carmel. I probably would have not gone here unless my friend suggested it, so it’s a good thing she did the other day. Very impressed.

A hole in a wall kind of place in a very non-descriptive part of Carmel. There’s a lot of regulars and the drinks are pretty darn huge and priced oh-so-right(compared to what I’m used to back in LA). They have a very interesting menu selection and even the menu and how’s it’s printed is interesting. You have to come visit on Friday nights for great local bands. Overall, great pub. laid back ambiance.

Let me start by saying that I have never given a restaurant a 1-star rating, and I would have given this place a 0-star, if that were possible. I chose Brockway because of the ratings on Unilocal… My friends were coming to Indy for a visit, so I wanted to pick a new place. I was terribly disappointed. To start, my friends got there first and ordered a round, and an order of the nachos. When the waitress brought their appetizer, we had no silverware or small plates. She said that all of the little plates«had broken» and they only had«6 left»… so she brought one big plate for everyone to share. It took another trip to get the silverware. She then took our food orders… in the interim, we ordered another round. After bringing my friends’ drinks, she told me that the beer I had ordered wasn’t available as a half pint(the nightly special), so I selected another beer. 10 minutes later, a different waitress came and said that the beer I had ordered was no longer on tap– when I showed her the beer list, she said that I had an old list– and she brought another. In the meantime, the first waitress delivered our meals. I had ordered the Chicken Salad wrap, and my friend ordered the Chicken Bacon Ranch wrap. Mine looked exactly like his, and because I cannot eat ranch dressing, I waited for the waitress to return. She went to check the screen, and sure enough, she placed 2 orders for the ranch wrap. She apologized, and said she would comp my meal… and place an order for the correct wrap. Back to the beer– the 2nd waitress comes back and says that the 3rd beer that I’ve attempted to order is not available in a half pint! Are you kidding me??? Does anyone that works here know what’s available? And, does it take 15 minutes(each time) to figure it out?! After watching my 3 friends completely finish their meals, the waitress returns and tells me that they are out of tortillas. This is the final straw. Being as patient as I can be, I tell her that I’m done. Without any dinner, I left. My friend, who picked up the tab, was still charged for my 2 half pints, which I thought was ridiculous. I wouldn’t have even left a tip, but because they felt that their meals were decent, they did. Needless to say, I would NEVER go back. So disappointed to say that this establishment is in my neighborhood. Also, it ruined the evening with my friends. Thanks, Brockway, for nothing!

Brockway is outstanding! I can walk from my apartment and it is usually bumping some sort of fun atmosphere. The food is excellent, staff is friendly, AND they have my favorite cider… on tap, Strongbow! My husband and I have attended their St. Patty’s day celebrations in the past, love them! They have great cover bands, including our favorite My Yellow Rickshaw. This pub is hard to beat and we haven’t tried yet :)
