This is my new favorite lunch spot for work lunches — it is quiet and seems private, and the servers are attentive but not intrusive. The lunch specials are great — the pastas are 7 – 10 dollars and include a drink. The house salad is a few bucks extra with an entrée — and they are worth it. It’s a nice salad with a house made Italian dressing. You get breadsticks before your meals come out. I’ve never been here for dinner — but have gotten carryout dinner when working late nearby and that was delicious too. I’ve never seen the place crowded — but I’m not usually in Carmel for dinner time so I’m not sure what their evening-crowd is like.

Cheese shakers at the table… why not fresh? Bread sticks like fazolis. Actually, next time i want to eat garbage like this, I’ll just go to fazolis. Tried the food twice just in case they had an off night. Staff were friendly and the décor was nice.

I went to J. Razzo’s and realized that it was Salvatore’s transplanted to a beautiful spot in Carmel. I was hoping that it would be the same great food and great service and I was not disappointed. The calamari appetizer was perfect as were the Chicken Marsala and great chicken pasta soup. The server was very friendly and attentive. The atmosphere couldn’t have been better. Actually, it was better than the original Salvatore’s. I recommend that everyone give it a try.

My wife and I eat here 2 or 3 times per month. Obviously, we love the place. The sausage with spinach pasta dish is my favorite. I typically don’t eat sausage at all, but they get these from a butcher shop in Chicago and it’s a great dish. Tuesday is half-price wine night; try a bottle of Dogajolo Super Tuscan. My wife enjoys the Cioppino and the Chicken Parmigiano.

Not a fan. Service is poor and food is bland. Not gonna waste too much time writing anything up. Breadsticks were good.

Are here months ago, and our server(a woman) stared at us while we were eating and talking. Maybe she was trying to be attentive to us(the place was pretty empty), but it came off creepy. Also, the food was merely average. Not going back.

Nice looking place, wish there was something from the kitchen that distinguished it from 50 other average Italian places. Service was thoughtless and less than kind. The manager made no attempt to connect w/the dining room. Overcooked pasta, dry veal, sauces non-descript. But… great looking place. Ho-hum.

They had some of the best Italian food. I had shrimps in a spicy red sauce that was great. We went for my fiancé 40th birthday and were able to accommodate 11 people using Open Table to make the online reservation. The bruschetta was awesome and I had the tomato basil soup, which had a great taste. There breadsticks were light and fluffy with a good taste. I would highly recommend this place for large parties and for a twosome. It was a shot in the dark for me to try this place. All of the 9 adults loved what they had. Also the cheesecake was very good.

I’m just being honest and thought the food was average and the ambience was below average. The interior just didn’t make me feel warm and comfortable. It reminds me of some sort of ’90’s banquet hall. The lighting needs improving, especially given no windows on 3 sides. Also, lose the carpets. They add to the strange feel. The food was average. It definitely was not bad, but it wasn’t great either. Forgettable would be a good descriptor. We probably won’t be going back. The one positive, the price was fair and reasonable.

Excellent food. The server was a little«meh» but the food made up for it. My boyfriend had the lasagna which I can admit, was way better than mine. They layer fresh basil in it, so tasty! I had the seafood fetuccini, it was delicious. Shrimp, scallops, and clams. I could have done without the clams, but didn’t mind them. The scallops were very good, just the right size, and tender. I feel like sometimes restaurants can really mess up scallops so sometimes I’m weary to order them. Excellent breadsticks and good calamari. Very cute place, modern with an upscale feel. I honestly didn’t feel that the prices were that bad for upscale Italian. Great for date night. Also, the service was really fast. I had completed a half marathon that day so I was starving so the fact that the food came out really quick was very appreciated. We’ll be back!

At the Westfield location. 2nd time, but completely forgot to check-in before. OOPS! Back because we loved the food, the atmosphere, and the staff are so welcoming and friendly. Great place and great food!

Attended on the night before Valentine’s Day with my fiancé. We appreciated being sat without a reservation as it was 6 pm and they were already busy. We were sat in the back room, I loved the ambiance of the room. Very simple, comfortable, and romantic. Our server was successfully able to identify a wine each of us would like based on what we told him, very helpful. My fiancé ordered a rigatoni, I had the filet and lobster special. Everything was cooked well, an enjoyable meal. They have pretty reasonable prices(and portions) on their pastas, I’d love to go back for a pasta night sometime. For most J Razzo’s will be a date night destination, but if you decide to go you won’t regret it!

I love this place! Super friendly staff, homey atmosphere, and authentic Italian food. The risotto balls are phenomenal and so is the Alfredo! A little pricey so it’s great for a date night out. Plenty of options and fast service, gotta love it!

The service is fast. Our waiter was enthusiastic and gave good recommendations. I had the caprese salad and the spaghetti and meatballs. There really isn’t any other Italian places this far north besides the chains at the malls so it a nice place to mix things up. Food quality wasn’t anything to write home about, but overall I was satisfied. The main pluses of lunch at this place is speed of service, reasonably priced lunch for the type of food, and proximity to work.

I’m fortunate to work close to this place because they have great lunch specials. For lunch, most of their dishes and entrees are 7 – 9 $ which is a good value. I’ve seen other reviews in here talking about paying 16ish for entrees and I would agree that the value would not be there. Is this place the most amazing Italian food you’ll ever have? no. Is this place a great place to enjoy some lunch, have attentive service and unwind? yes. I’ve been here about 4 times, and first tried a Pasta dish with Gorgonzola sauce and chicken which is delicious but I feel the sauce is a bit too heavy. I can’t imagine how many calories are packed in there. The second visit I had the Blackened Mahi Mahi sandwich and have never deviated from there since. It is GREAT… I wish there were other options besides fries however. I’d like a fresh side to go along with it. Again, if you work close enough, give it a try… it is very good. If you are coming here for dinner, just know that you will pay slightly more than this place is worth, but you will still enjoy your meal.

Terrible please do not eat here and waste a night out. I have bought and made better red sauce and cream sauce. Zero flavor Applebee’s has better food and that my friends is sad. There are to many competitors please go enjoy your evening elsewhere. The experience was so terrible There are to many things to list.

I don’t understand how this place has so many stars. Food was just ok. I ordered the tilapia and ate a bone. Guess I should have slowed down but was hungry. I admit, the apps were pretty good. We had the 4 cheese risotto balls, calamari, minestrone soup. All was pretty yummy minus the calamari, but over cooked. The service was pretty good, attentive. Entrée: we had the gnocchi, manicotti, grouper, tilapia. The fish dishes were not very good. Gnocchi were just ok, had them way better at several places. I’m not a fan of manicotti so I will not place judgement there. We wanted to try a new place and since we were in the area… Now we know it is not for us.

You never know what you’re gonna find in a quiet strip mall north of Indianapolis. Sounds like the opening line of a horrible crime novel, but I digress. J. Razzo’s, tucked in a little strip mall in Carmel, is a tasty little spot and if you’re in the ‘hood and have a hankering for Italian, eschew the chains that are both north and south on Meridian and give it a try. In the interest of full disclosure, I found it on Unilocal and decided to check it out because it was walking distance from my hotel(my dad and I were in town for the Indy 500) — we ended up eating there two nights in a row.

I’m here in Indiana visiting from California and my family has a gift card to this restaurant. I looked up the Unilocal reviews and I always love reading the one star reviews. They crack me up. There were only a couple and the rest were five star so why not? Ambiance was very nice. I’m not sure why some reviewer mentioned the Italian décor in a negative way… maybe I missed it but I didn’t see any cheesy Italian décor. I was expecting something like Buca di Beppo when I read that. Nope. Not at all. It was nicer than I expected for a strip mall establishment. Kudos. We were greeted by a very nice, peppy server(I’m sorry I forgot his name). He was very knowledgable about the menu and happy to answer our questions. I ordered the Moscato wine to start with… so YUM! Then I was torn between the Ravioli of the day or the Pollo pepperoni. The online menu stated the Pollo pepperoni was on fusilli pasta and the actual menu said penne. The server sad they only had penne. Grrrrr. But really why does it matter… pasta tastes the same no matter what shape it is in. Alright. Sold in the Pollo pepperoni. I also got the Italian wedge salad minus the Gorgonzola cheese(yuck) and substituted mozzarella cheese instead. Salad was good. Nothing to scream about. The bread sticks were fresh and tasty. My dinner came and it was ok, maybe a little better than ok. I wasn’t a fan of the pepperoni so I ate the chicken, penne, mushroom and spinach. It wasn’t bad by any means but it’s not a dish I would crave to have again. Overall…friendliness of server: 5 stars. I would come back to try something else.
