Kush Day Spa

This was quite honestly one of the worst massages I’ve ever had in my life. It did not flow, I came out bruised with a sore neck and back, and I never reviewed proper attention where I noted my pain was. My partner and I came in for a couples massage and we were both greatly disappointed. We both visit Carmel often. We will not be going back to KUSH «Day Spa».

This is our second time back! We started to come on a girls trip to Carmel every year and this is our new tradition. This year we added the facial to our package and it was bliss! I had Mallory who did a phenomenal job on both the massage and the facial. I love the ambiance and the way they do everything it is so rejuvenating and relaxing. My friends and I had a wonderful time at Kush and would highly recommend them! Mallory was awesome! We will be back next year!

Such a cute little getaway location! The services were amazing and definitely worth my time an money. I did the 80 minute relaxation (which is customizable) with Tanya and the 30 minute refresher facial with Diana. Tanya melted away all of my stress and tackled the target areas that I told her needed extra TLC. It was also amazing to be able to have both treatments in one room and not have to move. …Wonderful! The owner was very nice and helpful. I would only recommend that they make sure to let new customers know that there are no other amenities or waiting areas before your treatment. Overall great services, nice people, and walking distance from the beach!

I love this day spa. I went with my husband on Valentine’s Day for a couples massage. I was pregnant and the therapist really made sure to be careful. They were so professional and the experience was completely relaxing. I highly recommend this place.

We have been to a lot of massage spas over the years. Kush is one of the best. Since we don’t live in the area we are not able to come to Kush that frequently, but we have been there four times and each time has been a real treat.
First, John the owner is genuine and is truly interested in his customers. Our most recent sessions were scheduled a day before we came, since we decided to come to Carmel at the last minute. John was extremely accommodating and made sure we were taken care of.
His masseuses (including John) are equally interested in each customer, asking for detailed information about what we need, and checking in during the massage to make sure everything is the best it can be.
The atmosphere in the spa is very relaxed and mellow and very conducive to getting the most out of your massage. The treats they serve to guests, particularly the toffee, made for a wonderful ending to our stay.
My wife and I highly recommend Kush as a great place to relax and have a wonderful massage.

Wonderful cozy little day spa nestled off the bustle of Carmel streets. I called right as they were opening for the day to inquire about a same day appointment. The gentlemen on the phone took my number and said he would try and find some massage therapists for my couples massage request. He called back in minutes and had me scheduled for an appointment an hour and a half later. Perfect timing for a light snack and vacation cocktail before an amazing massage. The business was clean and welcoming and prices were right on par with any other couples massage in a tourist town. Should I plan on visiting Carmel again, I will definitely be scheduling a trip to Kush!

I wished I had time for a longer massage, needless to say it was great! I have been to a few Forbes 5 Star spas. This places doesn’t have pools and etc, but the massage is what counts and the quality was amazing!

Kush is an amazing place of peace and restoration! My wife made me go because I am not too keen on people touching me. John is a massive guy with magical hands. He is firm when it is needed and very sensitive to tender areas where the muscles are stressed.
The place is very welcoming, neat and clean and very orderly. John is one of the nicest people I have ever met and after several sessions, I would not consider going anywhere else
in town. I have been to top spas all over California and this little piece of heaven is right up there for quality and the way you feel like you are the most important client of the day!

As someone with 10+ years of back problems, I’ve had many massages all over the world. John (one of the owners at Kush) is in my top 3 of all time without question. I’ve been to him for deep tissue twice, and feel seriously amazing afterwards. I come to Carmel often, and as soon as I find out about a trip, they are my first call! If you’re looking for a fancy spa experience, this isn’t it. If you want charming Carmel, reasonable prices and a really outstanding massage, then just go already!

My boyfriend and I were highly disappointed. we thought this was a day spa and it was two room studio. I was very uncomfortable and wasn’t into the staff. The massage was mediocre at its best. We were looking for Zenith and Tonya and found out they were around the corner at a beautiful Eco spa. We went there the next day and it made our entire experience to Carmel worth while. ##ALL UnilocalERS BE ADVISED all reviews for Tonya and Zenith should be credited to Signature Day Spa. Not sure why they are under this studio. That is very misleading. We don’t like being lied to.

Today I got one of the BEST massages from John. He has wonderful technique and just has a terrific touch. It was so relaxing and calming and peaceful. The music they play during the massage is lovely. If you are headed to the Carmel area and have some free time … Treat yourself to a massage ! I recommend the 80 min massage. I am a very active person and john listed to my needs and I left the massage feeling AMAZING! I even fell asleep it was so good!!! I get massages on the regular and would give this 5 stars 100%!!! I’m glad I live in the area! Definitely worth the money and I will for sure be coming back here!!!

Holy cow!!! I had a massage with Tonya and I’m calling her «Magic Hands.» Unbelievable. I’m a massage snob and she topped the charts. My husband also loved his massage with his masseuse.

My husband and I booked a couples massage, he had a deep tissue, and I a prenatal… we enjoyed every minute of it! My technician was fabulous, it was honestly the best massage I’ve had, hands down! to finish up our fabulous session we enjoyed a little snack and some water before we headed off.

We have been here several times & every time we leave very happy & extremely relaxed.
I get massages quite frequently & compare to other massage therapists that I have had Tonya does a wonderful job.
My husband on the other hand absolutely hates massages. I always have to bribe or threaten him to get one.
After he got his first massage from Valerie @ Kush he wouldn’t stop talking about it. Now, he always wants to go to Carmel to get a massage!
We can hardly wait for our next trip to Carmel to visit Kush Spa!

We had the one hour couple’s massage when I was 7 months pregnant and it was divine! My husband and I frequent massages, but never have I fallen asleep and snored to the point I woke myself up! The prenatal massage was THAT good… They hand magical hands here ;)

A tranquil spa in a picturesque little town. What more can you ask for? Maybe a glass of wine feed through a straw while you get your massage and facial?
The workers are extremely friendly and skilled. I bought the package of spa services: sugar rub, massage and facial. I wanted the full queen treatment! I don’t receive any of these services often, so I wanted to be in the lap of luxury for a little bit.
The massage was great, but dear lord can it get painful! Like I said, I’m not used to massages and I know I hold so much tension in my neck and shoulders (which I asked her to concentrate on) so this was bound to happen. I’m happy to say I did feel much looser when I left!
I LOVED the facial, as it was great to get all the different mask treatments and they all smelled SO good! I just loved every single second of it. I honestly wish I would have scheduled a 60 minute facial and skipped the sugar scrub. While the scrub was great, I wasn’t blown away or hooked in terms of getting it again.
I also got a bikini wax. I mean, we were in CA, I have to maintain some sort of grooming here! I fell in love with the blue wax they use! It was glorious compared to the ripping off with the wax strips. I’m telling you friends, find your nearest salon offering blue wax and you will never turn back!
While everything came to well over $ 200, and probably a little pricier than I’d pay back in PA, it was expected that it would cost more here so I was fine with it. I’m also totally fine with getting pampered and that’s why you come!

Had the calming facial. It was very relaxing and my face fells amazing. wish I would have received a little more attention to my neck when she was massaging.
Of note– this place is down an ally, which they call a courtyard. Across from the wayferer church and adjacent to Cypress Inn.

Fantastic Massage!
I have never had a massage before and I decided to surprise my girlfriend with a couples massage for our weekend getaway.
We chose Kush from the Unilocal reviews and we were not disappointed! We arrived and they immediately took us across the alley into their newly-​purchased couples massage room. I had Zenith and my girlfriend had Tonya. They were both fantastic! We didn’t even have to specify a type of massage because they said they are «adaptive» and can tell what part of the body needs attention.
I have been training for a marathon and informed Zenith that my hip had been bothering me. She really worked it out and it has felt great since! The 80 minute couples massage was a bit pricey ($ 250), but it is Carmel and I was expecting it to reflect the area’s high prices.
We both really enjoyed our massages at Kush and will be definitely going back. Thanks John, Zenith, and Tonya!
