The owners are trying to keep their overhead down by not using a receptionist. I think it’s a tough business to make a living at in expensive Carmel, California. They were very nice and friendly, spoke little English, but made every effort to show us they cared about their services. My only suggestions are to hire someone to answer the phones and book appointments, and create some privacy within the space. It is a bit odd to be in front of shop windows with folks walking by. All the best. Great foot massage!

If you are looking for good service, good price, no frills, this is your spot. Popped in with no appointment and they were very accommodating.

The owner speaks poor English and the parlor is sparsely decorated with massage chairs squished together in a room in front and two other rooms with semi-private beds. But everything is clean and the massages are decent. I would try to book the woman therapist because she’s more experienced than the man. The prices are a tad more expensive than the Chinese parlors in LA, but I’m sure the rent must be expensive in downtown Carmel. This is probably the only place in Carmel to get a decent quick, cheap massage. They are also by appointment only.

The previous reviewers seem a little over sensitive about this place, it’s actually a really great deal for the price and is a standard foot reflexology place that offers body massage as well. I got a 60 minute combo for 50 bucks and it was well worth the price. Definitely check this place out if you’re looking for a quick massage at a reasonable price. It’s not a spa, it’s just a message place!

The worst. The rudest. The nastiest women to ever answer a phone today in Carmel. If they do massage, how did the women pass the state boards to DO massage? Is this legit or not? The guy in there is super nice. It’s a little awkward making an appointment. It would be wonderful to have a happy ending… only not the OTHER kind.((((((grin))))) Things are getting steamy in town!

Chill out people… this is a Chinese foot massage parlor. Very casual, informal and cheap. Don’t judge it based on Spa’s…it’s definitely what you pay for. They’re all over the place in big cities and this one is pretty clean and comfortable compared to others. 30 minute massage after dinner for $ 25! So worth it. No they’re not going to call you back and they don’t speak English very well but it’s also not a $ 180 + dollars per hour. Cheers… loved it and wish I discovered you guys sooner.

So, as I write this, I should be enjoying my nice warm foot bath… getting ready for my nice relaxing foot rub… BUTNO! I stopped by «Happy Feet» today(July 16th) and made an appointment for 2pm. I asked if I could have 2 people at 2:00pm, «Yes, no problem, what is your ph# please.»…which I gave(I NEVERRECEIVE A CALLTELLINGMETHEREISANISSUE!) Then I show up, and say my friend will be a little late, but can I start now? And I was told«2 at 2…2 at 2»! I repeated, I can start now and my friend when he gets here and I will pay for the full hour(if they had started I would have received 55 mins?) Then in some language I could not understand, but I got the«gist» of the hand signals«get out, no service» The best of all was there was no one in the place? I guess it’s true what I have heard, that it’s not a foot rub place, there must be something else going on… I guess it’s a blessing I was turned away. TODAYISMYBIRTHDAY! I have been to Happy Feet III4 or 5 times for their one-hour foot massage. The owners have very poor English, but this was not a deterrent for me. I have received foot massages from both Kevin and Gina, and they were excellent. I got great relief each time from my sore neck and shoulders.(The«foot massage» is really a whole body massage with the client fully clothed and under a blanket.) After about my fifth visit, I decided to try the full body massage and asked for Gina.(I am female and felt most comfortable with a woman masseuse.) When I arrived I was given Kevin for the service. The foot massages are given in the brightly lit front room of the shop, and you are usually with at least one other client when you are getting your foot massage. As I mentioned before, you are fully clothed. He did the full body massage in a small, darkened room at the back of the shop. He covered my eyes with a snug eye mask(which I thought was strange given the room was darkened, and there was no need to have something across my eyes). I felt very uncomfortable being partially nude and massaged by a man under those circumstances. The only thing that kept me willing to give it a try was my previous 4 – 5 good experiences with the foot massages, but the whole situation made me very uncomfortable. For these reasons, I recommend against the full body massage if you are a woman. Because of the language issue you can’t be sure you will get a female masseuse nor can you really communicate any concerns you might have. The setup and approach is likely to make you feel vulnerable and uncomfortable. Stick with the foot massage!

My husband and I were looking for a foot rub after a lot of walking this weekend. When they could take us, they set us up with a water soak which was ok. Then they started a head and shoulder rub. Not why I was there, I wanted a 30 min foot rub, they hurt. Then onto the feet. It was more touching than massage. Never massaged the heal or ball of my feet which were the sore parts! Then street all that, they tell us it’s $ 50, cash only, which we didn’t know. Walked over to the atm across the street, $ 3 fee later, have $ 60. Hand it to the guy and no change offered. Guess there is a mandatory 20% tip. I tip if I want, when service was good. Raise your prices if you want $ 30 out don’t keep my money. We won’t be back.

I was so excited to go get a massage while in Carmel. We found this little place and it looked like I was about to relax and enjoy myself… BUT…it was the worst massage I’ve ever had and I get them a lot. I had to keep asking the guy to actually do something I could feel. He was so light with his hands it didn’t feel like a massage but a petting session. I almost got up 10 minutes into the session but figured with me repeatedly asking he would get a clue, he didn’t. I don’t think he was a regular massage guy cause he didn’t know how to even do a massage or even where pressure points are. He kept patting me. Very interesting to me. I’m guessing they needed someone last minute and he just filled in? Must be, cause there is no way they’d still be in business if he was one of their regulars. No way he’s certified.

Came here after a long week of work. They were able to see me within ten minutes, the guy was incredibly nice and strong, and he just clearly knew what he was doing. One of the better foot massages I’ve had. And all this for a great price in one of the most expensive places in the bay. Awesome. Loved it.

My mom and I were excited to try this place out after a few long days of walking. I’m not sure what other people experienced here but my experience(and my moms) was less than mediocre. Yes, the prices were good but the services were awful. I’ve gotten many massages in my life and I felt like the masseuse knew nothing about the human body. I like it when they dig deep and it hurts but this just HURT. And then he would just barely rub. It was weird and did not feel good. I wouldn’t recommend or go back unfortunately!

Beautiful location, excellent massages, very friendly staff, excellent prices. No appointment is needed, and they have convenient hours.(Appointments are available outside their regular hours.) My husband and I have been twice; first visit was an hour reflexology massage, then back 2 weeks later for an hour full body massage. We plan on continuing on a regular basis! Thank you Happy Feet III!!!

i came here last minute and open minded. i requested a deep tissue, experienced massage therapist. the woman on the phone assured me that my therapist would be able to work deep. my expectations were not high, given the price, but expected at the least, an experienced and deep tissue therapist. what i got, was the a never ending ‘warm up’ over the blanket and without oil. after 20 minutes of nonsense, i asked if he could use oil. he did not speak english, but i managed to communicate the word ‘oil’. unfortunately this did not help. he had the same spastic stroke as the warm up stroke, which was the equivalent of a nervous toy poodle humping my leg. i left feeling very ripped off, and more stressed than when i entered. i only recommend this location to somebody who is completely clueless as to what massage actually is. the location in monterey is a much better choice!

Sorry but this place was dirty. They rubbed as if they had no certifications… I feel bad saying this because they were so grateful to have our business but the guy who rubbed me, rubbed me as if I asked him to help me rub lotion on my back on the spots I couldn’t reach. That’s pretty much what it felt like. The massage bed was hard and had just a hole literally cut out to put my face down in. This place shouldn’t be apart of Carmel.

My friend and I went hiking in Big Sur over Fourth of July weekend, and after a 9-mile hike in Andrew Molera State Park, our feet were killing us, so we had made appointments to stop at Happy Feet on our ride home. The spa is small, with just three massage chairs in a single room, and it’s very clean. Our foot massages turned out to include back massages, shoulder massages, hand massages, basically the full works, which we certainly appreciated. After being covered in a combination of dust, burrs, sunscreen and sweat for days, Happy Feet was the perfect place stop for a little therapeutic relaxation before returning to the real world.
