This candy shop is a little too conveniently located. Plus there is plenty of parking behind it. There is a great mix of nostalgic candy, fine chocolates and many other varieties of treats… Gelato and some other items I didn’t notice as I was already in sensory overload. It has a low-key atmosphere that allows you to search through all of your options. I spent under ten bucks and was able to sample a large variety.

This store has everything you could possibly imagine and more, from a wide variety of serve-yourself options to quirky specialty candies. If you’re looking for a nice birthday present or a gift for a teacher/co-worker then this is a good place to go. It’s also a nice place to hang out with a group of friends. I just wish they had more foreign candy.

If you’ve never had European sipping chocolate, this is the place to try it! Not at all like hot cocoa, this chocolate is like sipping a cup filled with bliss. Check out the local sweets artisans while you’re there!

If you like sweets, don’t hesitate to go here, because they have just about any candy you could want. I came here looking for some vegan sweets for a penpal; unfortunately they only had one option, but the lady in charge was very helpful and helped me look. However, just about everything was vegetarian, so I kind of went crazy on the bulk bin candy for myself. :)

Great range of sweets available here from giant old-fashioned lollipops to baby bottle pops. Fun atmosphere, handy little buckets so kids can carry their own selections. Plastic gloves are provided for trying a piece of the bulk candy or chocolates before committing to a bagful. If you already enjoy the wide variety of retro, standards, and gourmet candies/chocolates here, you’re really going to enjoy the new lunch menu. My favorite is the new Mediterranean Pizza cooked on a pita. Other flavorful choices include paninis, salads, and soups. Lots of vegetarian options! The Cookie Dough Chocolate Chip Cheesecake Brownie was delicious with coffee(which is served, too.) Now, I can eat a healthy lunch and not feel so guilty when I tote home a bag of perfectly fresh gummy bears.

So many items that I forgot from my childhood! Store is charming. Stop in and browse. We laughed and bought a few fun gifts. Really impressed with the selection in the space.

I love this place. It literally brings out the lil kid in me. The ladies who works here are so sweet and accommodating. They serve lunch and gelato too. How can this place go wrong? You can purchase some choco truffles from Mass Av’s «the best chocolate in town» in this store. Saves you a trip and the hassle of parking at Mass Av.

Crunchy gummy bears. Lots of fun novelty items and every candy you could ask for. Handmade local chocolates are great. It doesn’t get better than this. It is like Cracker Barrel, mall candy stores and Godiva rolled into one place. The only thing sweeter than the candy is the owners.(It was intentionally cheesy, but still true.) She will always order my special requests. I can’t say anything bad about the place. I wish it were closer to home.(actually, that might be really bad for my waist line and pocket book. Yes, I have a pocket book)

Ah… to own a candy store. It must be fabulous. People coming in, immediately getting high on the aromas of chocolate and sugar. I could dig it. No wonder Bernie and Jill(the owners) are always so happy and friendly. I love the Simply Sweet Shoppe. They have an amazing variety of candy – everything from inexpensive retro treats to hand-end chocolates. They even carry local candy – like 240sweet Artisan Marshmallows. On my last visit, I indulged in a frozen hot chocolate. Fabulous.

The hand-made chocolates are beautiful and make excellent gifts. They did not have a huge selection of hand-made candies compared to some other bakeries/confectioneries, but the chocolates we purchased were creamy, tasty, and very attractive. Great service, too.

Excellent place offering all the candy from my childhood and odd items too, such as scorpion lollipops and red chili chocolate. Coffee and ice cream bar too! Service is friendly & helpful. Very busy on weekends!

I’ve never seen a candy shop with this well-rounded an approach. Yes, there were the requisite plastic scoop boxes of Jawbreakers, gummy bears, wrapped gum, and other mundane coffee. But there was also a seemingly fresher and more artisan kitchen where mini confections like coconut cookies, mini Italian cream cakes and artfully crafted lemon blossoms were vended. I’ve found a new vice: Choco Pods. These single-servings of premium chocolate from Venezuela come with exotic fillings like passionfruit, strawberry and balsamic, cabernet caramel, etc. I thought the $.99 pricetag for each was a bit steep, until I checked them out online. Truth is, I don’t know how they’re turning at profit at this price point. Very nice help, too.

What fun! A true delight for all your senses, this new candy shop just north of the Main Street and Rangeline intersection in old town Carmel. On our visit, the place was packed and we quickly understood why… you can find nearly everything here to satisfy your sweet tooth! From old-fashioned items like wax lips, Necco wafers, Zotz, Pez and other names galore to handmade fudge, cupcakes and high-end boutique chocolates… it’s all here! We had the extraordinary experience of trying the store’s «sipping chocolate»…mouth-watering heaven in a little 2 oz. or so glass. Don’t worry, it comes in larger sizes, too! One sip and I was a total convert, I never want to have to chew chocolate again… well almost! If you tried the sipping chocolate that Starbucks tried to introduce to the market and didn’t like it, make haste for Simply Sweet and give your tastebuds what they’ve been craving. So yummy it could be dangerous on a first date! Other neat things about this shop: the chocolate dipping station, the ginormous jawbreakers(check out the one at the cash register that’s been sliced in half with a power saw) and the Moonstruck chocolates… at this writing the latter category included a cute-as-can-be selection of Halloween-themed goodies like«eyeball» truffles and Dracula faces. Like Serendipity, the service here is second-to-none and we felt very welcome browsing the goods. We will definitely be back… maybe even later tonight for some more chocolate :-)
