This is a favorite spot. I come here every year for christmas cards with my mom.

My gf and I walked in here after getting some coffee. I walked in and smiled and said hello to the older blonde woman at the counter, she looked at me and then looked away. The old man in the store watched me like a hawk making sure I don’t steal anything. I mean what the f#^k do I want with a bunch of cards? Yeah I am going to steal them and sell them on the Hallmark black market? I was told to leave because I answered my cell. Apparently the place hates technology being that its main product is paper stationary. While I was out finishing my call my gf spent 50 bucks in the store and the woman at the counter wouldn’t even say hello or even a thank you. I hope as technology gets better this place dies out like the dinosaurs because the fossils that work in there need to learn some manners.

A must to stop in! Local or traveling, this place has tons of stationary, and cards. If you’re in a jam and need art supplies, they have art supplies, pens, pencils, even birthday party supplies! I highly recommend at least stopping by, they have the most adorable gifts and the staff is very friendly!

Decent selection of items, but the staff tend to be rude. It is VERY pricey and they act as though you shouldn’t be in there if you have to ask for a price. I only come here for very specific items, otherwise, I just order my stationary online where the selection and service is far better.

Enjoyed the experience of a shop that takes me back to the days of stationary stores pre-email. A wonderful variety of truly pretty papers and office storage files and boxes. I bought a hand carved woodpecker, just gorgeous. I will return for gifts in the future.

I love going into this store to look at all of the beautiful stationary and wraping materials. The owner is very nice and has offered to order special items for me when they were out.

Love this place for the sheer variety of pens and stationary they carry. My favorite notebooks, by a French maker named Clairefontaine, is carried by them — very happy discovery! For serious pens and a small but beautiful collection of writing papers, go downtown to a tiny little gem of a store called Bittner’s. It’s tucked into a small space on the main drag near Tiffany’s.

the world according to noelle ~2012~ Spencer’s Stationary is one of my most favorite stationary stores ever. They have the most extensive and beautiful selection of greeting cards for almost every occasion, calenders, leather bound notebooks, day planners, photo albums(leather or cloth), decorated boxes for holding photos or other items, items that you would need to seal an envelope(stamps, wax, etc.), stickers and many more items. The store is easy to navigate. In the back of the store there are more office supply and school type items for sale. What caught my eye were the beautiful photo frames from Italy in either gold or silver. I’ve been coming to Spencer’s Stationary for ages with my mom. It’s only now as an adult can I appreciate the beauty of the stationary and other paper goods sold here. I purchased our wedding album here and was quite pleased. Customer service is friendly without being intrusive. Yes, Spencer’s Stationary is expensive but it’s worth every penny for all there paper goods are of excellent quality. Happy Shopping, Noelle

Today I went in with my baby in tow to look for a leather portfolio for my boyfriends birthday. SInce he is starting his own business I wanted to buy him a really beautiful leather portfolio. I knew exactly where they were since I have shopped here before for gifts and my own stationary needs. I was looking at the large leather portfolios when a woman with very long hair who works there said from behind me «let me know if you need help» so I turned and said«actually yes I was wondering is this the only area where your portfolios are?» She looked at me, took off her glasses and paused, I then said«they’re called portfolios right?» unsure if I said something wrong judging by the way she was looking at me. «well, it depends what you’re looking for, because we have these…» and she proceeds to pull down a much smaller leather address book/notepad combo. She goes on «And THIS starts at $ 120…» with that tone and I know what she’s getting at. I pull down an alligator leather embossed portfolio that looks perfect for what I’m looking for and she scoffes«well that’s probably THEMOST expensive one!» I don’t even look at her and inform her that I am looking for something along the lines of what I have in my hands! I think I left her puzzled and speechless as she says«okay well let me know if there’s anything else you need…» LADY– My boyfriends mom has shopped here ever since this place opened and buys leather bound $ 300 diaries, journals, etc for herself and my boyfriend EVERY year as well as numerous other items, I ALSO have bought numerous gifts and such for myself and recommended several people to this store! Will I tell people about this store anymore? NO! Word of advice– Don’t judge a book by it’s cover… was it because I look young? Or because I don’t look like your white cookie cutter carmel resident? I will take my business elsewhere!

Just visiting and killing time, we shopped here today. I love stationary stores and this one had every thing one would want and then some. There was a great selection of cards, stationary and a few gifty things. In the back of the store there were office supplies. We got what we needed and while we were happy to see they had it, we paid about double what we would have paid at Staples. Sales people didn’t hover but they were there when we needed them.

I agree with Kate-Marie completely. This place has some great cards and stationary. I spent close to $ 70 on Mothers Day cards here and smiled at the cashier and said«hello»…no smile in return, she just asked«ready?’…I tried to make small talk and be pleasant and barely got any eye contact, let alone words besides the total. I would never go back here and haven’t since. I would expect a little smile since I am spending $ 70 f^$%#*g dollars!
