Hair Style Korean Hair Salon in Carrollton

Kay is awesome. I have come to the salon for years and she does an amazing job every time. I usually come in and let her pick my hair style and color and it’s very fun (non traditional colors). My work even approves when my hair is pink, green, or purple since it’s colored nicely — not gaudy. I’ve tried going to other stylist since I live further, but no one compares. A 45 minute drive plus toll is worth seeing Kay.

Get my hair trimmed very nice people and great service. Good head message when shampoo. It’s a great place.

Jennifer is awesome! She gives me a great precision cut, and always makes it an enjoyable experience. Don’t be fooled by the name. Jennifer has experience with all hair types (including my extremely-​fine, problem hair), and she does a great job.

When I moved back to the Dallas area about 7 years ago, I went through that awful journey of finding the right person to get your hair right every 2 – 3 weeks. After a couple of terrible haircuts, luckily I found Kay. Since that time, I’ve had perfect haircuts for years. Though there are tons of salons in the area, Kay and her staff have demonstrated the skills and personality to succeed in this competitive environment. Kay is amazing.

About five months after reciving my first haircut, I decided to return to Kay in January for a trim. It was two days after New Years and I wanted to start my year out right with healthy hair and a good style.
Judging by how Kay did the time before, I called ahead and eagerly booked an appointment for a cut/​style.
Biggest. Mistake. Ever.
The salon had overbooked for the day. The place was packed. I could tell that Kay was in a rush to try to get everyone in and my hair paid the price.
By the time I left I had bangs that were one inch long. (Seriously, I measured) They stuck straight up, horizontal with the ground. Seeing what had happened, she tried pusing them in different directions and it didn’t do any good. I had to try so hard not to cry.
Kay could obviously see by the look on my face that I was not happy, but I kept my mouth shut (too late by that point in time).
I went ahead and paid for the horrendous cut and tipped, but I will never ever be returning.
What REALLY added insult to injury was one of the other stylists, who was grabbing a brush to dye another client’s hair looked up, saw my bangs, and laughed/​giggled at me. Talk about feeling two inches tall.
Immediatly after I walked over to H Mart and bought a couple of wide width hair bands to pull back my bangs till they could grow back out.
The final icing on the cake was about a month and a half later when I went to go get the rest of my hair (the back/​body) fixed at my local Ulta where I was working. When the stylist assessed my hair, she discovered I had two tails in the back that were longer than the rest of my hair. I had to chop my hair off up to my ears to fix the layering from Kay’s cut in January.
My final thoughts on the matter is this:
If you schedule and see the salon is PACKED, run far, far away. I would hate for other ladies to have to experience the embarassment that I did of having to hide my hair and be laughed at. Going to Kay will either be the best decision you’ve made in a long time, or the worst.

I’m so surprised to see that this salon has such low ratings!
After suffering a horrendous haircut back in May of this year, I’ve been terrified of trusting anyone with my hair, period. Especially with just having moved to the area and knowing nothing about the salons here.
I am so glad that I have this salon a try! I called about an hour and a half ahead of time to schedule an appointment and asked for Kay. She was able to pencil me in very easily!
The service was excellent, my hair was washed within a minute of walking in the door and was ready to be cut immediately after.
Also, even though this is a Korean based salon, Kay is also excellent with Caucasian hair. She coached me on how to take care of my natural waves for days I do not want to flat iron.
I say this with all seriousness that I have never had such a great haircut in my life. The cut and style was flawless. I will never trust anyone else with my hair again!
I encourage you to try out this salon — make sure to ask for Kay.

It used to be my favorite place to go, but not anymore. Tony is good, but sometimes he just can’t understand exactly what you want the hair to be and starts to do his own thing. If you have a specific style that you would like to cut? Don’t expect you getting the same thing because first of all he won’t understand, second, he will misunderstand what you mean. If you are looking for very easy, simple, clean haircut, this is not a bad place to be. Unless you are Korean and knows how to describe what you want to get for your haircut, don’t try it because you will be disappointed.

Kaye is the ONLY person I will let touch my hair in the DFW area. I have super thick, straight asian hair and she always knows how I want it cut. She understands the way I like to part my hair and thins it out perfectly so it’s never unevenly bulky on one side from the deep part I like to do. Kaye is also the only person that my boyfriend will go to now! I don’t know much about male haircuts but I can tell you that she cuts it to the perfect length according to his face shape and she can make his ridiculously thick hair look manageable.
With that being said, I’m taking away one star because I HAVE tried to get my hair cut by some of the other stylists in this establishment and the results were just okay. Nothing I was ever unhappy with, but nothing spectacular. I’ve seen them work wonders for other patrons, though, so to each his own!
Anyway, I feel like Kaye definitely has the magic touch so make sure to request her when you visit!
