Really, really good food. If you’re around the area, definitely take a chance at Tacolipino. You won’t regret it.

Ordered for pickup and the food definetly changed. Much better than the first time I was there. I’m not sure about the service when sitting in has improved yet, but I will soon see if that was also improved.

I’m glad there’s a new food place in Carson that will end this mediocre«turo-turo» and have a fusion fil-mex cuisine. New place, clean area and LOVE the food here. We started with the taco trio. Then filipino food and the halo-halo. The owner takes care and converse with you make you feel at ease. We also started ordering for parties last Christmas. Fellas, please patronize and support this restaurant. They are open for any suggestions and hopefully stay longer just like«Salo-Salo» grill in Cerritos, CA. We need a World Class Filipino Restaurant to stand out this time in South Bay.

I came today thinking I was going to order a Sisig burrito to go… but I decided to sit and eat in instead. Well since I did that I took a look at the menu again and well… let’s just say my eyes are much bigger than my stomach. I decided to order 2 items, with intention of saving the leftovers for later. I ordered the Sisig Bowl and the Tocino Breakfast Plate. It’s all so delicious!!! Great food portions! I will have to come back and eventually try the Sisig burrito… lol Love this place. Definitely my comfort food. Hahaha The service was also great. Waitress was very pleasant and the food came out very fast and everything is affordable. Overall experience was great again… I am sure this is turning out to be one of my favorite restaurants :-)

Ate hear last night with the homie and I have to say… wasent impressed. I had the adobo burrito and the homie tried the tacos. 2 sisig 1 adobo. The waitress asks if I wanted the burrito wet. I want a real burrito experience to be able to hold my burrito so I chose dry since that’s kinda the choices they gave but wasent really clear. She asks me what kind of rice, garlic or something else and of course I ask for plain white rice which is what adobo goes good with. What they served to me was a wreck. Even though I had asked for it to be dry so I can eat it like a regular burrito it still had sprinkled melted cheese over it defeating the purpose of being able to pick it up and eat it. So I had to scrape off the cheese on top and asked for a knife. The waitress took off as soon as she served the food. She was very detached and I really had to jump up and down to get service even though we were the only other customers in there. A couple of patrons had walked in 5 minutes after us and it felt like she gave them more attention and their food was prepared better. The plate had a lot of garnish, not much burrito, another bad sign. the green salsa that came with my burrito was horrid. Tasted like a poor attempt at salsa verde. Did I mention the burrito itself did not taste good? I purposely chose adobo and even paired it with a rice that complemented it so they could not mess it up and it was dry with no kind of sauce in it and just did not taste good. You cant mess up adobo unless you serve the old dried up end of the day parts. it was not delectable. I was also insulted that the adobo they served was limited to just chicken. Where was the pork adobo? The most delicious adobo of all adobo’s? the King of adobo was missing or they just avoided serving it. Other things that weren’t in on the fusion that were the dinuguan(might be the best fili-mexican fusion food), Kare Kare, and Lechon Kawali. I thought the food was more trendy then it was trying to be fusion. With funky garnish and fancy plates. The one thing that really brought up the rating for me was the restaurants décor. I give that 2 thumbs up and Ill even give them my big toes too. It was clean(didn’t get to check the bathrooms) the design was beautiful and Arnel(the cashier) was very helpful. He gave it that Jeproks feel that there was a little bit of the old school still in this new idea, that’s what the people really pay to see in a Filipino joint. Mom and Pop. He had that feel even when he wrote down the password for the wifi on a strip of paper. That’s old school. I tried to chat with him and give him some idea but he seemed a little defensive which is understandable. I can be a lot to take in all at once. I gave him my theory on why a mexi-flip fusion place can work because Filipino food is not pretty to look at or describe. Take dinuguan. looks horrible. Then try to describe it. No way Im eating that, its got boiled blood and vinegar? But slap it on some rice and wrap it in a burrito. Can your taste buds say awesome? I give them 2 stars because of the restaurant and Arnel, the food I could have chucked out of the door but they haven’t been open for to long so if they want stay open they must commit to the fusion. Sisisig is not everything. Expand their mind on what Filipino Mexican and Fusion mean and they can have a hit. For what I ate it wasent worth the price.

YUMMY Filipino Mexican FUSION here! And why shouldn’t the Filipinos jump on the FUSION bandwagon! It’s a great idea! Found this joint on a whim while in the area, hoping to find a new pork sisig joint to sample. Tacolipino!!! What’s THIS!!! Called in to confirm this was a Filipino joint… YES! They use the right kind of meat for their sisig… Pork belly, that’ll do. So away we go like Peter Pan, wheeeee! :) Apparently, it’s been open a short time only. Oddly, no TFC firing on the tele, but actually College Football on a Saturday. I’m alright with that! So let’s peep out the menu… *PORKSISIGBURRITO($ 8.99): Went with my fave Filipino option, although bistek or chicken adobo do sound like options to consider next time for a burrito. Went with Filipino Garlic Fried Rice, pico de gallo, and cheese inside, skipped the bean options. Didn’t have to wait too long for my take away order. Now, I’ve had White Rabbit sisig burritos many times and always thought they were chintzy with the sisig even when paying for extra, and too much rice. Tacolipino’s version is MUCH bigger and filled with a substantial quantity of meat WITHOUT paying for extra. I’m already happy and I haven’t even taken a bite! Sure enough, their sisig is yummy. Crispy and succulent at the same time. Garlic fried rice would make my nanay smile! Yup, loved this! Yet another delicious Filipino eats option has popped up in Carson. Better than White Rabbit, imho. Can’t wait to come back to sample more of their menu items & see what dining in has to offer. Recommended ;)

Finally got to try this new fusion restaurant. I’ve been curious to see how well Mexican and FiIipino food would mesh so I took my friend comedy veteran Charles Sanchez to have a Wet Bistec Burrito with garlic rice and mongo beans, Carne Asada. Burrito with garlic rice, a Adobo Chicken Taco, Fish Taco, and Sig Sig Taco. Me and my buddy enjoyed the fusion. It was a little pricy for tacos though but our server, Chelo, was super nice.

Craving Filipino food but also craving Mexican food? If you can’t decide what cuisine you want have no fear because Tacolipino is here! Tacolipino is a new restaurant in Carson catering Fliipino and Mexican cuisine. They offer up a variety of fusion dishes from burritos to tacos filled with Filipino favorites, sisig, bistek and adobo. They also offer up traditional Filipino dishes like crispy pata and lumpia. You have your choice of Mexican rice or Garlic rice. For my trip here, my friend and I chose to get an appetizer of fries with cheese topped with chicken adobo. For our main entrée we chose to get the sisig with sides of garlic rice. The cheese fries with chicken adobo was nice and could definitely be a entrée as well and not just a appetizer. In fact, I took some of the chicken adobo from that dish and ate it with my garlic rice. I liked the uniqueness of this dish. It’s like Mexican carne asada fries with a Filipino twist with the addition of chicken adobo. When the sisig came out it was brought out in a nice sizzling platter! Unfortunately the temp was a little too high and burnt a majority of the sisig dish on the sides. The burnt sisig ended up making the dish really bitter. We let the waitress know and they kindly replaced it with a new dish. This was really nice of them and the second sisig dish was delicious. It really went well with their garlic rice. Speaking of garlic rice, I thought it was really nice that they give a pretty good portion on their side dish. It was good but perhaps needed a little bit more garlic flavor. One other thing that was a little weird was the menu said rice(Mexican or Garlic) was $ 1 but the bill said $ 1.50. Tacolipino offers the option of mixing and matching the dishes so that you can make it more Mexican or Filipino flavored. No need to make the hard decision of eating Mexican or Filipino because here at Tacoplino you can have a little bit of both ;). Happy Fusion eating!

I was deciding on whether or not to try this place out but ended up trying it. We ordered the bistek burrito(for myself), fish tacos, adobo tacos, and the cocktail appetizer(chapanga? Or something like that). Finding hair in your food isn’t such a great thing for a new restaurant and it was in the cocktail thing. Bistek burrito was good but I got tired of eating just half of it. Fish taco was good, my mom enjoyed it. Adobo taco was good as well. Customer service needs to be better! I’m Filipino myself and just because we don’t talk to you in Tagalog isn’t suppose to change how you serve us. Well I should say that we had to keep asking for stuff since the server(s) wasn’t passing by as often to ask how everything was or if we needed anything else. I suggest to just be more attentive to the customers and treat everyone the same. So you guys earned 3 stars for the food but since customer service wasn’t great, it brought you to a 2 star review. We’ll see about coming back.

*UPDATE* And so we came back again this week, this time for dinner. We really wanted to try the burrito. So we ordered carne asada burrito, beef taquitos and tuna plate. Carne Asada Burrito-awesome! Ordered it with mexican rice and refried beans. It was just the right amount of rice, beans and meat. You can really taste the meat! Grilled Tuna plate-OmG! I highly recommend. I ordered it with lemon pepper salt + lemon caper mushroom butter sauce with sides of white rice and steamed veggies. It was delicious! Maybe next time I’ll ask for more veggies and no rice for healthy options. Beef taquitos– yumm! Its a generous serving for an appetizer. Decent price for the serving size. Shared all orders with my boyfriend. Nothing wasted here. We cleaned our plate! Cant wait to try their Halo-halo. I think we’re gonna be regulars here. Hopefully they’ll start serving alcohol and also breakfast!!!

I really enjoyed this restaurant. There is a full menu, you can really get exclusive items from both Mexican and Filipino cuisine. Some of the taco combos come with a choice of Filipino Garlic Rice or Mexican Rice. I thought that was super creative. But…where is the Horchata on the drink menu? Where is the picture of Caesar Chavez and Larry Itilong on the wall? I highly recommend the adobo chicken wings, the pick three tacos(bistek being my personal favorite) and any of the juices. Will be back for more. YUM!

The name needs some work. It’s Mexican food but ‘enhanced’ with Filipino flavors & A LOT of salt. Wow this place is salty. I ordered the 3 taco plate… all fish and my friend ordered the adobo tacos. I’m pretty sure I got shrimp tacos but they were breaded pieces of shrimp & I was starving so I didn’t complain. Got the garlic Filipino rice and black beans as sides. Both pretty good sides. My friend didn’t eat her tacos so I can’t comment on the Adobo. Really fast and attentive service. minus 1 star for the salty saltiness & minus another star for the breaded shrimp/fish. I might be back if I’m in the area.

Food wasn’t great had way better. Service was even worse. Brought water 15 min. after serving our food and after having to remind them. There were a total of 7 employees behind the counter just talking instead of catering to the customers.

I really like this place! When I first heard about it, all I could think was«why didn’t anybody think about this in the first place!!!» Though it’s a fusion place, it has more Filipino influences than Mexican, but it’s cool when choosing an entrée, you have the option to mix and match between the two cultures. The tacos I got were soooo good!!! And I’m happy I got to have Mexican rice with it since I’m not a big fan of Filipino garlic rice. I gave it three stars because even though the food was good, I don’t really like the name of this place or the décor much. I like how homey this place feels, but there’s so much more potential to make this place great if they tweaked some aesthetic things.

Good food and large portions. The service was pretty good but you can tell they’re still a new place. We got the 3 tacos and got the sisig, bistek, and adobo. Was a little difficult to differentiate which was which because they all tasted similar, but add a little of the chile verde and they were good. Recommend the calamari. Good and huge portions. I would come back.

Food was good nothing special but not bad. But the service has some work to do. We got there and had to wait a bit to be seated because there was no one to seat us, but there were open tables. 2 of us already finished our plate, while 3 dishes were still missing. They forgot about our orders, had to tell 3 different staff. To-go orders take forever and if your splitting your check, expect to wait a line because theres only one«cashier» whose still learning how to do everything. They’re understaffed so everyones doing everything(hosting, getting orders, handing out the food) and rushing. Probably just more staff would help them out a lot. . But hey it is a new place, always room for improvement. Definitely more filipino than anything. Just added a tortilla x)

Came here on grand opening day. The owner told us that she wasn’t expecting such a busy grand opening and basically turned us away and told us to come back another day. So we came back today and the restaurant is maybe 40% full but the cashier told us that it would be a 40 min wait. Well we said we’ll just order to-go and he said the wait would be the same. I’m not waiting 40 minutes for tacos. The menu isn’t even that great. It’s $ 4.99 for 1 lumpia. $ 14.99 for crispy pata. $ 8.99 for a sisig burrito, really?! Save your time and money and go somewhere else…
