Thought I would try the sushi at Tokyo Joe’s … a BIG mistake. Limited sushi menu, rice is dry, too much rice for what they put in, flavor profiles are off, etc. I am not a fan of their noodles so I guess I will not be going back to that restaurant! What a waste of $$

I frequent TJ’s at various locations throughout S Denver. Although the patio view is spacious and awesome, the quality of food prep was substandard. My Mojo bowl came with cold scrambled eggs mixed in — ewww. Cashiers at other locations are often personable and outgoing(the brand boasts about its«pierced» employees), but the order-taker today was merely that. No smile or greeting. Sorry TJ’s…you’ve got some work to do on this location still.

Decent food. Service is ok. But don’t go in after 7, or they take the soy sauce off your table. Nothing says you’re a valued guest in our restaurant like coming around and asking to pull the usable condiments off the table while guests are still eating. The first time this happened during my meal, I thought it was a one off behavior of the closing staff for that night. At this point, it’s a pattern.

Changed the menu recently. Now there’s a «Surf ‘n Turf» bowl with steak and shrimp! Now that it’s had time to «settle in», it seems like the food is getting better and better. There’s a lot of sauce choices, so there’s always a new combination to try. Will definitely be back with my «Addict Card»!

This place is delicious, healthy and a win. Place is clean, and the food is amazing. One of my new faves.

I am regular customer of Tokyo Joe’s — excellent post workout meal. Unfortunately, every time I visit this location I end up w/nothing but fatty chicken! Disappointed.

There are many better Asian places in Castle Rock. Just went here for the 1st time with my daughter and we ordered sushi and shrimp spring rolls. Sushi was BOGO so tried two different types and both were good. However, if not for one order being free it would have been overpriced. We also ordered shrimp spring rolls which were NOT good. First off all, I have no clue how or why, but the rice wrappers were hard as rocks in one of the rolls and I could not bite through it. Second, they should have called it a carrot spring roll because it was about 80% shredded carrots. Finally, there was only a single, very small, SLICE of shrimp in each roll… which I knew because I could see them. Notice I did not say I could taste them… because they were either too small/too bland to taste — or — were overpowered by the carrots. I’d consider going back on Mondays for sushi but will still with Phở(next to Wag-N-Wash) for the rest of my Asian fix.

Service is okay. Food, not so much. Noodle bowl lacks simple flavor. California roll tasted fine but fell apart way too easily. I’ve been skeptical about Tokyo Joes. I won’t be back.

This Tokyo Joes is what happens when you have a staff of under 18 year olds only. Does this place even have a manager? Zero customer service, zero fire under their asses. It’s a shame. I waited over 20 minutes for ONE sushi roll, at 4:00 pm, not even a busy period. SKIP this location.

Food is good. Price is good. Ambiance is not good. The line is in the middle of the dining area so everyone in line stares at you when you eat. The tables are way too close together so if you go with just you and a friend, you’re essentially eating with random people. Definitely wasn’t ideal eating next to two strangers as they talk about what they don’t like about their food. We might as well have introduced ourselves since we could hear every word they said. Definitely getting take out next time. Or making a 3rd person come with us so that doesn’t happen again.

So I’m not trying to be a snob and maybe I’m not being more negative because of my great disappointment, but on reflection I have to say and without any doubt the Sushi I had there last Friday was the worst I’ve ever had. Perhaps it’s the new staff, equipment, I don’t know, but the most fundamental and critical component in sushi is the rice. First there’s obviously not«itamae» and I’m not certain anyone there could be called a «shokunin» either. The best sushi is based on very few simple ingredients, the rice, the fish, the wrap, the preparation and the rice. Yes Rice Twice. The rice in my maki roll was absolutely miss-prepared, it was simultaneously just a tad under-cooked, yet overly wet and completely tasteless. It was if this was an experiment in the manufacturing of artificial rice. It looked like sushi rice, but was a complete let down. My daughter’s roll and wife’s meals were equally bad. The ambiance or lack there off, tables bolted to the concrete and a dinning expereince that was just shy of eating at Old Navy were the finishing touches. If anyone ever asks you there my suggestion is to just say«NOJOE!»

Went there tonight! Had the«build a bowl», super fresh, healthy and hot. Love that I can add on any veggies at no additional cost. I’m so happy we finally have a quick and healthy but still yummy place in town!

There restaurant is nice new addition to the city and has a great floor plan and balcony. Staff is friendly and service is prompt. Been open for less than a month so who knows long term but the bathrooms are clean which leads me to believe the kitchen is clean. The tuna in my spicy tuna was dry but overall satisfied.

New in Castle Rock, so super busy. My «build your own» bowl was lukewarm when it came out. As it was my first time here, I was surprised that the food was not hot when it appeared. I mentioned it to a worker behind the sushi area, where I was seated, and she volunteered to make the bowl again. What a difference it made! This bowl came out very hot, much unlike the first bowl. The guy who delivered it to me said he couldn’t find me at first, and apologized that the first one was cold. Very crowded, especially at lunch time and hard to find a seat. I’m already looking forward to trying some other things here soon!
