This Bueno is ok. Food can be hit or miss sometimes on freshness. Kept pretty well clean for a fast food establishment. Counter workers are usually very nice but there has been the exception to that now and then. There is always someone new working the register so not sure about turn around for employment there. I do like all the coupons Bueno gives out over email. Almost always some kind of good sale going on if your ever in need of a descent cheap meal. I really do like there taco meat the best as compared to there two rivals in the fast food taco business. Sign up for there emails, bound to be something you will like to try out for a good price.

I’m pretty sure that I have helped bank roll this location, but it seems that those days are over. When the place first opened up, there was a standard that was universally kept, which was reflected with good food being brought to the customer. It seems though, as of late, that the standard is not universal, and one must find the proper time to go to this location to receive good fare. IF you go anytime before dinner time, you should be ok. Some of my favorites from Bueno are the Mexi Dips and Chips, the Potato Burritos, and the Muchacos. If I go before the night shift gets on, then these items are usually executed well. If, however, I go at night, which as I work late seems to more often be the case, the execution is slovenly and sloppy. Take the last time I went, 5−17−15. The Mucho Nachos was served to me in a tri compartment to go box, which limited the amount I got first of all. Second of all, instead of looking like the menu picture, my meal looked like the person who made it didn’t give a crap. In fact, it looked like they GAVE me crap. Very little queso, beans were dry, meat was coarse, just overall terribly executed. I took one bite and threw it away. Also, I used to love the quesadillas, but recently when I purchased them on two occasions, the tortillas were doughy and saturated, almost like they were steamed for too long before they hit the grill. Combined with the cheese that tasted like it was on an all day slow melt(like stored too close to a heat lamp) I almost gagged when I bit into it. Last time I order one of those from this Bueno. Also, there used to be a pretty even standard for the salsa. NOTANYMORE! Nowadays, it is a crap shoot to find which kind of salsa is going to appear in your bag. Is it going to be chunky and dry? Is it going to be finely minced and liquid(ASITSHOULDBEFROMBUENO), or is it going to be their new, gross fire-roasted sauce? This one item could go a long way to fixing an ill that shouldn’t be. If you are searching for a way to rid yourself of the 20 minute line wait or the gastrointestinal problems associated with Cedar Hill’s run to the border, Bueno is a great option… just make sure you don’t go after dinner time. After dinner? The level of care is no Bueno.

As the commercial says, It’s more bueno. A good alternative to Taco Bell. Sometimes a little less flavorful, mostly due to less salt, but more ‘real’ flavors — if that makes sense. Hubby likes the bueno bowl, and mexi dips and chips. They also have good smoothies, which are more like slashes. Very sweet though.

Good food as a last resort if you are needing good food fast… but not real good food.

The worst. Reason being, the first time I went here they tricked me with good food. The next two times, which were the last 2 times, the food was awful. It was cold, the beans were dry and the rice was hard. That was a year ago and I hadn’t been back.

The MexiDips and Chips of Taco Bueno have had my heart(as well as my stomach and esophagus and other assorted parts of my digestive tract) since about the mid-90’s. Every time I return to my hometown, I make sure to stop in at a Taco Bueno to get my fix. For the uninitiated(and lovers of nachos), MexiDips and Chips consists of a mini-tortilla bowl each of nacho cheese, guacamole and refried beans(well, actually, when you get it to-go, they put the cheese in a little plastic container, so you’re sort of cheated out of your third mini-tortilla bowl). I like their chips when they’re fresh as their crispy and a little bit oily(yeah, Taco Bueno is NOT where you go for your diet). On my most recent foray to Bueno, I tried this new dessert. It’s a cinnamon apple muchaco thing that was AMAZING. And considering the price($.99), it was a great deal for my wallet as well as my taste buds. Bueno is the place when you’re feeling fast food tex mex but not wanting to run for the border yet again.(The food tastes just a little less processed here than at another large taco chain).
