Decided to give them a try today and we were very disappointed. The food is very blah. We tried the cheese enchiladas and beef chimichanga. They were both very bland and lacked any flavor or spice. The beef in the chimi was very chewy and gristly. We also tried the queso and it was nothing other than just canned cheese sauce without any flavor. The only reason I did not give them a 1 star is because the margaritas were good and the waitresses were very friendly and attentive.

I come here often and the Pozole and the menudo never disappoint. I really enjoy the Pozole the best but can’t go wrong either way.

Driving on to the parking lot of this place I told my mom«oh heck no!» It looked like a Mexican restaurant /auto garage. I agreed to give it a chance only after she went in and checked out the cleanliness. It looked acceptable so we decided to order. We had a group of four and between us we tried: chicken enchiladas, chicken quesadillas, flautas, and nachos. We all enjoyed our meals and the salsa was delicious! I wouldn’t say it’s a place that is worth going out of your way, but if you’re in the area and looking for average Mexican food, this place will do.

So nasty everything tasted like it had been sitting in grease for hours by far the worst Mexican food I have ever had.

I have visited this place in the past and enjoyed the food, the service not so much. It’s been about a month since my last visit here and I had a craving for some caldo de Rez, so I decided to visit again along with two guests. I immediately noticed something different when I entered. They actually had a host greet us which is not typical but welcomed. After being sat our server was very prompt, once again something that didn’t happen in the past. Our drink order was taken and brought to us along with chips and salsa. The server then took or order and was very attentive during our entire visit. When the caldo was brought out, the flavor was amazing and full of flavor. This new way of operating was definitely something I was not used to at this place but I am so happy they have made some changes here where they are putting the customers first and keep us wanting to return to receive great service. I noticed server all new faces in the restaurant all of which did a great job taking care of us. Great job Tapatios! I look forward to visiting again and bringing more friends to show you off.

my husband and I moved to Duncanville 2 years ago so we had to find all new restaurants to eat at we stumbled upon this one simply just by driving by so we decided to give it a try. the waitresses are nice and courteous. this place is not very big but it stay pretty busy. the chips are good but the salsa is very spicy as it should be in a Mexican restaurant. I have had the beef enchiladas, the chicken sour cream enchiladas, the taco salad and all of them were pretty decent food not very much flavor but fresh and hot. the prices are very reasonable also. This is where we go when we want some cheap hot fresh Mexican food.

I have to start off by saying 8 years in Texas and have yet to find another restaurant that does real lemonade, Aguas frescas, even fresh squeezed orange juice the way I had them when I would visit Mexico. We went craving menudo, the food was good but the drinks to me were the best. I will go back again and try other dishes. My daughter had tacos and she really liked them.

What you see is what you get. There’s nothing more or less. This place is straight up just mexican food. Don’t come here for anything flashy or trendy. You’re gonna get tacos, chalupas, fajitas and other Tex Mex staples. The plates aren’t fancy. The food tastes decent and the price matches. If you want fancy do not come here. This place is attached to some sort of mechanic shop.

Very low quality food, if you are gonna put a restaurant you have to have good quality food that wont make people sick. This place use to been good but I dont know what they done to the chef. Putting resturant s is very competitive so you do have to step up the game. The Agua frescas are delicious! But the food is what needs some work.

If you’re going to run a Mexican restaurant you must have homemade tortillas. There is too much competition to not have homemade tortillas. They tasted store bought. The food is your average Mexican food. In my opinion there was nothing to really make it amazing. The chips and salsa were good. It took about 20 – 25 minutes to get our food. The service itself was slow. Maybe it was because they had only two servers. There was nothing about this place that made me think«I have to come back!». As I said before, there is a lot of competition, so you must be on your A game. I’ll probably explore other options in the future.

1) connected to a gas station. Looks like a heavy traffic area for trucks, since the gas station had 3 diesel pumps. 2)food made myself and my friend sick. Was a call in order. Fajita nachos and i had a chicken quesadilla. My quesadilla was a nice size and cut in 3 parts. By the time i finished the 2nd, i felt it all get unsettled. My friend said the same about hers as well. Will never go back.

I had a taste for tacos and wanted something more than Taco Bell, which I’ve eaten almost everyday since it came to my neighborhood two weeks ago, so that should give you an idea of my expectation. Menudo was the first thing I saw, the next was tacos… I ordered both! I hadn’t had menudo(my friend said the stuff I eat from the can does not count) since I was probably 12, so I was excited. I expected a soup heavy laden with hominy with a few pieces of tripe but I was surprised that it came with very little hominy and lots of tripe. I’m not a fan of hominy so this was worth a whole star. It didn’t come with lemon only cilantro, onion and jalapeño. I would say I like my menudo spicy so I would have preferred it to be spiced up a bit more. The tacos were very good. I got the pastor(pork)! It was flavorful with a bit of crisp. There were some nicely caramelized onions in with the pork. The tacos came with chopped raw onion and cilantro. At first I was disturbed there was crema but the pork was so good anything else would have covered the flavor. This place is actually an hour from my home, but if it were closer I would go back. If only to keep me from eating menudo from the can!

Had a late lunch today at Los Tapatios. An earlier review mentioned that it was on the southbound side on Hwy 67. It is not. It is on the northbound side and is attached to the Texaco. The spinach enchiladas were not bad, not terribly flavorful, but not bad at all. The chip were pretty good, but the salsa was excellent, as were the rice and refried beans on the side. I will definitely return.

For a hole in the wall, this place is pretty am-m-mazing! They’re guacamole is very good and you can tell it’s made fresh to order. I’ve heard good things about the enchiladas. Their shrimp with poblano sauce is very good. It comes with a generous portion of shrimp perfectly cooked in a mild poblano sauce with caramelized onions. Oddly, the shrimp plate comes with french fries and lots of toasted bread. Oh, and they’ve got horchata which is a plus. On some occasions though, the horchata tastes different. The location seems to be in an odd place, a gas station to be exact. There seems to be a trend with delicious mexican food and gas stations but I’m not complaining since these little places seem to be the best. Wish Los Tapatios were closer to me. Totally worth the drive.

First let me say that the google map currently on this page is misleading on where this restaurant is located. It is actually on the south-side service road to Hwy 67 between Joe Wilson Rd and 1382. Now that that’s out of the way… great breakfast! We were going Christmas shopping and wanted to eat breakfast before getting started. Migas were excellent and accompanied by very tasty potatoes and refried beans. I prefer very little chiles in my migas while my husband loves them piled on. They fixed it to our specifications so absolutely no complaints in that department. You are also offered your choice of corn or flour tortillas. My friend had the Huevos Divorciados con Chilaquiles– which translates apparently to two eggs separated on the plate by the chilaquiles. Each fried egg covered in a different sauce, one green and one red, appropriate to begin our Christmas shopping day :) She said it was very good, and sauces were very spicy. As many have said the chips and salsa are worth writing home about… tasting fresh and cilantro-y, albeit with a nice bite of warmth from fresh jalepeno. The waitresses were attentive with refills on the coffee and tea without being overbearing and intrusive. Definitely will be back again for breakfast and plan to make a trip out one evening to experience the normal mexican fare, so stay tuned.

Very good real Mexican food like you would find South of the Border and the prices are very fair! They have beer and margaritas. Excellent Shrimp Soup! This is one of my favorite Mexican Restaurants in Texas, and it is in Cedar Hill, and almost in a Gas Station. That said, the food is authentic like what I find when I travel to Mexico, they have Tex Mex as well. The chips and salsa is good, and the enchiladas are very good. The chilaquiles for breakfast are a nice treat. The chimichanga is good, and the Carnitas are very good. This is a great hole in the wall. A huge surprise if you are not expecting it, b/c who thinks of restaurants in gas stations. You will not be dissapointed at this neat little Mexican restaurant.

I love this place! I know that it looks kind of out of the ordinary since it is connected to a gas station. However, just step inside you will be surprised that it is a fully functioning restaurant. Every time I go there I am so excited because they serve the BEST chips and salsa. AND it is unlimited! I am usually so hungry that I stuff myself with chippy goodness! =) I like their hard tacos, or small soft tacos. Every time we go there we order a main dish like a burrito or chimichanga and as a side we order 2 hard tacos, usually beef. but … I would get the carne asada! The enchiladas are good too! I love the rice and beans. Nice subtle flavors always tasting fresh and homemade. I just love this place! I live in CA… but when I visit my dad in Cedar Hill. I always have to make a stop here. Its a tradition. =)
