Horrible. They gave me old food and had I not been home, I would have taken it back and thrown it at the place it was so disgusting! I go back to the mall and tell the lady and she laughed.

The only reason I’m giving two stars is they have great bubble tea. The sushi is worse than HEB pre packaged at 1am.

Really nice workers and great taste! But 4 stars because the portions are kinda small.

This is an open air sushi restaurant in the Mall food court and rated while bearing that context in mind. Menu: Nice variety, with choices being heavy on the Unagi(I assume due to the kitchen having a small prep area). Prices, very reasonable for the quality provided. Pictures, they aren’t trying to be fine dining so the pictures are helpful and well represent the artistic creations you will receive Prices: Not bad, it affords my youngest son and I a nice visit to mall and a delightful meal at a price that won’t stress the budget. Their individual pieces of Unagi are a good size, come in the typical pairs, and you have a nice portion of that sweet eel sauce to elevate it. Staff: They are so gracious and always ask with sincerity if your meal was enjoyed. Perks: They have a display of imported Japanese Marble Soda beverages along with other common drinks, if you need a second you can just help yourself and add it to your tab later. The small bottles are fun to open and a novelty. Bubble Tea, it is different and I recommend that you try one of their many flavors to get the full experience. You can shop in the mall afterwards. This is a great stop for those who embrace sushi in all of it’s glory, not isolating themselves to the pricey high end cuts but appreciating also the affordable and accessible artistic and delicious creations that are still served with pride, courtesy, and care. Irasshaimase!

Not bad for mall sushi. Inexpensive and has an extensive menu. Not fresh but not horrible either.

It does this place a disservice to be in the mall because many people would assume that sushi in the mall isn’t going to be that great, but I would recommend every one give a try. To me the sushi was pretty good, the staff was friendly, and I would definitely go back. There seems to be only one sushi chef on staff, and he looks to be working pretty hard to turn out sushi that looks artistic on the plate, which I appreciate.

You know what? 3 stars to Unilocal means a-okay and while I think this food was okay, it also means I’ll never come back. How many places have you thought was just okay, then proceeded to eat there repeatedly? Why would anyone subject themselves to something they don’t generally enjoy? Perhaps the food would be better than ok if the pickled ginger didn’t seem spoiled, or if the wasabi didn’t taste slightly spoiled or if the avocado in my salad didn’t have brown spots. It’s a good thing they haven’t noticed I’m done eating and have my card out because I’ve had time to write this review. :p

The fish is NOT that fresh! It is almost bad. My stomach is on GUARD. So, I did NOT enjoy the sushi at all. It wasn’t hated, just not enjoyed. The prices are not as cheap as th sushi grade is. There are plenty of other things to eat elsewhere. Save your money.

I’m sorta picky about sushi because I don’t eat all types I just eat a few certain types. The Crunchy California Rolls looked real good so I gave them a shot, the man made then right there fresh! They looked so good when I got them and after the first bite I got hooked! The service was very friendly also! My 3 visits were great and have nothing but good things to say! Coming back next week!

Everyone has to agree with not liking the whole food court/mall thing. But, this sushi is superb! I ordered the Crunchy California Roll and it was SPECTACULAR! I’ve come a few times and ordered the same thing and it has been amazing every single time. I absolutely love that the chef prepares it right there in front of you so you know it hasn’t sat there all day and is as fresh as possible. Also, the pricing is perfect. My roll filled me up! Next time I go i’m for sure trying the bubble tea!

The BEST sushi I have ever had and absolutely sensational customer service. This place is a hidden gem. I know you’re probably thinking«mall sushi? really?» I was very skeptical, just as most walking through the mall probably are when they see this place, but it is a must that you try them out. The chef makes everything right there so you aren’t getting sushi that has been sitting around, and they have lovely plate presentation. Also the seating is in a more closed off section of the food court which I love because I personally hate food courts entirely. I would give them 10 stars if I could!

Shopping mall sushi? The only thing I can imagine worse than that is airport sushi. Imagine my surprise when my hunger pangs were screaming for sushi while shopping at Lakeline Mall. I decided to give them a shot, and I’m glad I did. I’ve been back several times and each time it’s quite enjoyable. The fish tastes great, and the rolls range from expected to imaginative. The only detractor here is the staff. I’ve had much better service at other restaurants. I’m definitely a fan of this place, but I’d like the service to be a bit better. Now I think I need to head over there again and get a bubble tea.

I’m slightly embarrassed that every time I go to the mall I eat mall sushi. But they seriously know how to make a bubble tea right, and I always order their Romeo or Juliet rolls. They have a chef on hand that knows WTF he’s doing.

I tried this today and thought it was pretty good. I’d been craving sushi for a while– so while at the mall I was pleased to see a sushi place. I got the spicy dragon roll which was pretty good, fresh and the presentation was nice, but definitely could have been a bit spicier :) The price was around average what I expected it to be. Next time I’ll try something spicier or ask them to turn up the heat :) I definitely will come here again for my sushi fix.

Most of the food here tasted fine but when we didn’t like one of the rolls we were given nothing but the boot and bad customer service from the owner. I do not believe that the customer is always right but I do you believe that you should try your best to make a customer happy. The owner was rude and confrontational and unable to give me any kind of customer service at all. You should not own a business if you dont do not know how to service customers. Don’t waste your time coming to this establishment if you expect anything but mediocre food and horrible service!!!

I love sushi and am very picky about the sushi I eat. I was surprised to find excellent sushi at the mall. I know how it sounds. Mall Sushi. Food Court Sushi at that. But the quality was fairly high. The Crazy at Lake roll is my absolute favorite now. The wait staff is always friendly and prompt. The Miso soup is excellent. All contained in the middle of the Food Court at Lakeline Mall. They even have a sushi bar to sit at. The sushi chef is spectacular and friendly. Even the oranges they serve at the end of your meal are the best oranges I have ever had. The prices are fairly decent. The only draw back I have about Simon’s Sushi is that, since it is the mall, is rather loud. I give Simon’s Sushi 5 stars and I will be returning.

Burgers, chicken nuggets, frothy coffee drinks. Yelling kids, quarreling couples, and flirtatious teens. Mismatched chairs, tilt-y tables, and ambiguous seating arrangements. Welcome to the food court, my friends. Not the first place you’d expect to find good sushi. Nevertheless, good sushi was found at Simon’s Sushi at Lakeline Mall. I had the spicy salmon roll. Fish was just fine, wasabi was spicy, service was friendly, and price was easy to swallow(7.50). Afterward, I swam upstream to Sears, refreshed. Note — try the boba(bubble) tea next time.

opened in Lakeline Mall a while back and I’ve been to it a couple of times. I’ve never eaten at the restaurant(it’s very open and they don’t mind if you take away to another part of the food court) because my kids would rather have Subway or something else. I was pretty excited to see it here because I love sushi but the family isn’t so hot on it so I don’t get it as often as I like. I was also a little scared. It’s sushi. In a food court. Yeah. I was pleasantly surprised! I only like maki rolls so that’s all I’ve had and they’ve been very well done. The chef is always polite and asks about your tastes(and be warned, if he asks you if you want spicy mayo — it’s SPICY — like burn the hair off your tongue spicy!). The place is exceptionally clean. I know that sounds weird, but you can tell the person who owns the location really cares about it and takes care of it. It’s not too pricey, but not cheap sushi by any stretch of the imagination. They have a few things pre-made you can buy at the counter(like California rolls), but I always ask for something freshly made. Overall, a decent experience. It’s food, it’s not ambiance, but if you are stuck at the mall and the family won’t go to Momiji or Nagoya(again), then offer to let them take their pick of the food court. You won’t be disappointed.
