This German festival is a nice break from the crazy festivals in Milwaukee, which I actually passed through on my way up to the festival. There are no gates or fences or admission, so that’s big points right there, just an open part with food vendors, beer vendors, games, music and dancing. The food is pretty much the standard German food you’d probably find at other German festivals including brats and other German sandwiches. There was a good variety of beers, but I don’t remember if there were any local ones. There are some cultural things like dancing and gifts to purchase with the main attraction(IMHO) being the glockenspiel. The games are really fun which include a wife carrying race and a beer carrying race. I came in second place in the beer carrying race and received a $ 20 gift certificate to Silver Creek Brewery, which was fantastic.
