I just noticed that Dunlap has a 1 star Unilocal review and believe this to be an unfair characterization of them by a few people who either had negative experiences or were sensitive little snowflakes. The deal with them is simple… you pay the money to live in the thing. It’s a lot like home ownership in some ways – except you leave at the end of they year. If there are fleas in your carpet you may have to clean it or something. Once you tell them you’re moving out they’ll start scheduling showings. If you have roommates they may call you or they may call your roommate. If you ask them nicely they’ll make a note to call all of you. If the time of the showing is bad they’ll…you know… reschedule it. They were always real chill. My mom lived in this townhouse they rented and when she bought a house my girlfriend and I took over her lease in the townhouse. Every time i went into their office they were always very nice and asked how my mom was and all that. Last week we accidentally shipped something from amazon to our old address and the current tenants there brought it to the dunlap office. I went and picked it up and chilled for a minute. It was pleasant.

Truly awful customer service. Over the course of my stay, Dunlap Lilley failed to provide even decent support. When I first rented, they had no keys for me. They had to bring in a roommate to copy his key, then replace the lock on my individual door, which they failed to leave a key for, and I had to make my own copy to give to then for their files. Later in my stay, an unsavory sort rented out a room briefly, caused the entire apartment to stink of pot, and Dunlap Lilley never even returned my calls or emails. They Emergency line is a straight to voicemail that only occasionally produces a result in emergency fashion. A prior roommate, who was locked out after others had left for holidays, had to wait 2 hours in the cold before response came and, having again lost out keys, had to break in. Several maintanence issues went unanswered including broken garbage disposal, off axis washer that could wake the whole condo, and numerous lighting concerns. The online payment option charges more for«convenience» than the late fee, rendering it useless. Upon being informed of a late payment by their error, I was accused of turning in and claiming an other date with witness available to confirm that I was away on the dates I turned in late.

Just overall a bad experience. They are not helpful, difficult to even get ahold of(won’t EVER return your calls), and won’t help with repairs. ALSO, be ready to just have people show up at your door without a notice. I was showering and one of the realtors just was walking around INSIDE the house I was renting. No call, no email, nothing.

AWFUL. I rented from them 3 years ago now and I hope they have improved since then. It’s still the worst experience I’ve had after renting several places. The place I moved into had 1) fleas in the carpet from the prior renter’s dog; 2) the previous renter’s stuff was still there; 3) all the screens were falling out of the windows; 4) the bathroom cabinet was disgusting — so disgusting that I closed it after I peeked inside it and never opened it again the whole time I was there; 5) the kitchen cabinet literally fell off the wall while I lived there; 6) the oven had rust holes in it and the rubber liner was falling out and the temperature was not what it was supposed to be; 7) the washer broke and it took them over a month to fix it — and this was during the busiest part of the school year when I was also sick. The staff took forever to respond to any request and didn’t fix any of the move-in inspection items. BEWARE.
