I really enjoyed my meal here. The crab & lobster spring rolls were spectacular! Real crab meat! I had the caterpillar roll which was very well presented. The eel was fresh and flavorful. Would return for another meal.

Yeah, I’m a few years late to this party. Try the«Cody Beef Sammich.» It’s a half-pound burger topped with jalapeño-bacon, bleu cheese, and truffle cheese on a toasted ciabatta bun.” It’s perfect. This place is cool, they serve huge portions, and the service tonight was impeccable. Nadia killed it. We enjoyed the crab rangoon dip the vanilla cake milkshake and Wifey had a Bento Box combo thing-a-ma-jigger(with a Burger slider, sushi, and 3 sides) that was amazeballs. But that Cody Beef Sammich… I’m tellin’ ya, it’s what gourmet burgers dream about being when they grow up. I mean, it’s different and kitschy, but I probably wouldn’t become a reg. Hands down the most annoying birthday humiliation song thing ever, complete with, I shit you not, cowbells and a gong. Whatintheeverlovingcraphellwasthatallabout!!! The wait was 30 min on a Friday night, not as bad as the reputation, so that was nice. Jennifer is right, trendier-than-thou, and more than is necessary. .

Service here was on point and everyone was so friendly! From taking our order to refills and boxing up our food. Perfect. I only gave 4 instead of 5 stars because I think they could do better with the food for the price. It wasn’t bad, it was actually creative. As long back as they hold back on the salt, everything else was good. Btw, outdoor seating is awesome. Even if it’s a bit hot, there’s lots of fans that’ll make it less uncomfortable.

Highly recommended restaurant while we visited the Charlotte, NC area. Absolutely loved the menu and the variety. Atmosphere of the restaurant was gorgeous and in a very nice area in Charlotte. Our waitress was the best and knew the menu like the back of her hand. A few of us ordered cocktails and we greatly enjoyed them. We ordered a few appetizers which I can say the calamari was a hit for me. My colleagues stated the mini burgers received 5 stars as well as the crab Rangoon dip, neither I tried though. We ordered a selection of different rolls to try and as always the California roll is a hit for me. I took a picture of the beautiful presentation of the Deliverance roll with pulled pork but I will say after high recommendations I tried the Doug’s Filet roll with filet mignon and it was very good!!! Some I didn’t try but our table was clean by the time we all left. When I visit one of the other three cities this restaurant is in I hope it’s just as great as this one.

First time in here and I heard all the hype. I couldn’t wait to try it. I’m a fan, but I had a mixed bag experience. It was super busy so we almost had to wait an hour. It was later(8pm on a Tuesday) and I was 5 months pregnant. So an hour wait wasn’t gonna work. Luckily, people had just gotten up from the bar so Hubby and I saddled up and decided to chow down while we people watched. He ordered the Backyard Burger and a Tempura Shrimp roll. He finished off his grande meal with a Jack Daniels Shake(I might have snuck a half-straw full for taste). He declared all three delicious. I ordered a Salmon Avocado roll and created my own. They brought all his food first. Then came my salmon roll and the create your own that I didn’t actually order(they made it wrong) It took them 20 minutes to remake it(at 9:00pm really?). When it came I was barely hungry enough for it but tried to eat as much as I could. I left feeling way too stuffed. The bill was what we expected, but this place is pretty pricey. They have such a niche I don’t blame them, but it will make it harder for us to go back more often. So would I go back? Probably. Will I go back often? Nah…

Burgers and sushi at the same time?! Cowfish is definitely a one of a kind place. The wait was STUPID long and they don’t take reservations. When we first came in, we were told the wait was about an hour and a half. Since we went all the way out there just for this restaurant we decided to kill time at the mall nearby. When we got back, they told us it was another 45 minute wait! A lot of people were coming and leaving as soon as they heard the wait. Everyone I was with ordered something different, but most notable were the Parmesan Bacon Truffle Fries that my cousin ordered. It was more than enough to share, and it had cheese all over the bottom of the bowl. Ooooooo man! I ordered the Mad Mango-cado roll, and although it wasn’t anything extraordinary, the serving was perfect. Bottom line: Although the concept is great, I probably wouldn’t return to Cowfish if I’m ever in Charlotte again.

Why can’t we have a place like this in Greensboro? At the suggestion of a friend, my daughter and I dropped in to the Cowfish for lunch. I was a bit hesitant only because I’m an adventurous eater and love sushi, however, my daughter is a no-fish, no-spicy, no weird combo kind of girl. Cowfish fit us both. We both got the Bento Box. She had the shrimp tempura roll and a regular mini slider in hers. I had the Firecracker roll and the speciality jalapeño cheese double burger in mine. She loved her meal, though she said the cucumber salad was too spicy for her. I loved everything about my meal. The sushi was excellent. I thought the 4 pieces would be small but they were huge, to the point I had to cut them in half. The burger was a good sized and perfectly cooked slider. I like spicy so I liked the salad. And the edamame was plentiful. Also, I got regular French fries and even though I’m not a fan of fries, these were good enough for me to bring home the leftovers. I also ordered the ahi tuna«nachos.» Don’t let the word nacho fool you. It’s more of a crispy cracker with their(incredible) crab Rangoon dip, avocado, and beautifully seasoned pieces of fresh tuna. It was excellent, fresh, and refreshing. We were pretty full so we did some shopping. But before we left we headed back to try their milkshakes. Any place that has marshmallow in a shake has my business. I ordered the Smores and my daughter got the Cake Shake with chocolate cake. Hers was sweeter, like cake and ice cream in a single sip. I could even taste the frosting from the cake. The Smores shake was rich in marshmallow and graham cracker flavoring though neither overpowered the other. Towards the end, I got a lot of chocolate syrup so they could tone it down just a bit on that. We got our shakes to go but that didn’t stop them from being presented very nicely. They were, to put it simply, pretty shakes. Pretty darn yummy ones that is!

I came here again after not thinking much of the place. The managers reached out to me and sent me a gift card to try the restaurant again. I feel this is extremely important as a manager to actually care and reach out to customers to see what they can do better. I admire this quality and feel very special and good that they took the time to do this. My lunch experience today was excellent. My waiter was very pleasant and friendly. Service was quick and satisfying. My food was really delicious, the quality was wonderful and attention to detail was amazing. I’m so glad I got the opportunity to try again. The crab Rangoon dip is an absolute must try!!! Huge portions of everything, come hungry! Thank you Cowfish!

Came here on a whim on a Wednesday night and it was fairly crowded. We were told it would be a 45 minute wait. We had no where else to be so we stuck around. We were seated outside on the patio. They do have outdoor heaters, which is nice, but the ones nearby weren’t turned on until the very end of our meal. Started with the lobster/crab spring rolls and they were amazing. More please. I ordered the grandma burger(can’t remember the name) but I know it had pimento cheese and bacon. It was pretty dang good. My friend also ordered a burger and had no complaints. He even finished the rest of my burger that I was unable to finish. I wanted to try dessert, but I was too full at this point. Next time.

It’s a burger! It’s a sushi! It’s BURGUSHI!!! I know who would’ve thought this combination would work? And it does! I ordered the What’s Shakin’ Tuna Bacon Burgushi: Ok I’ll admit when I first saw this I was underwhelmed. Just some iceberg lettuce too much bacon(is that possible? I pulled out 5 strips of bacon.) finally you have a layer of yellowtail tuna. But then… Then I pushed it down & took a couple big bites… The favors were explosive. Tuna was boldly seasoned. Bacon provided that burger comfort. Lettuce was fresh & laced with their special sauce. To my surprise the spring roll wrapper they used for the«bun» was stuffed with rice & crab. WOW

Although the wait to eat here can be excruciatingly long and the price of their food is on the more expensive end, cowfish has really awesome and unique food! The blend of sushi and meat is definitely something that I didn’t think that I would like, but it’s actually very complimentary and delicious. If you are going for dinner, definitely go early. If you go at a normal dining hour(past 6:00), you will probably have to wait 2 hours on a weekend night. Going for lunch is also a great option since there aren’t a lot of people either! But if you do have to wait, you can always go shopping at the mall right across the street! They also have super awesome decorations of movie and musical posters spoofed up with cows and fish– super cute.

I can’t believe it took me two years living in Charlotte to finally eat here! Bonus-We had a great parking space and didn’t have to park far at all! Came here for my husband’s birthday. We were quoted 25 – 30 minutes but didn’t wait long at all. Maybe 15 minutes. They have a good mix of specialty drinks. I wanted to get a milkshake but was too full to get it. We got the crab dip. I saw it was highly recommended on Unilocal and was very pleased. It’s a very large portion. We could barely finish it. The dip was creamy with large chunks of crab in it. Chips were large and crispy. That sauce that’s on it really made it delicious. Everything mixed together was just amazing! I got the shrimp tempura roll. I was surprised at how big it was. It was awesome, especially with the siracha sauce. I also got the Taste Explosion roll. It was my first roll like that. It was flat with ground beef, jalepenos, onions, some type of amazing sauce with a tomato and cilantro sauce on it with cheese. It was wrapped with seaweed and rice. It was delicious! It was large and very filling. Ground beef was amazing. My husband got the firecracker roll. He said it was one of the best sushi rolls he’s ever had. He also said he can tell the ingredients were really good quality and very fresh. I secretly told our server, Bryan that it was my husband’s birthday and he made it so special. They came out and sang to him and gave us a birthday cake! The cake was huge! Chocolate layers with an awesome layer up top. Bryan was such a great server. He was very helpful and was super attentive. Highly recommended!

They say opposites attract. Land meets the sea in perfect harmony. I couldn’t decide between sushi or their burger of the day… So I didn’t. I got both with the bento box: a snack size burger, 6 dynamite rolls, edamame, and Thai cucumbers filled up the tray and my stomach. I can’t really decide which is better, the cow or the fish. That’s not a bad thing, though, right?

I’ve been to the Orlando Cowfish and was told here at this location that they are even better. As I loved the Orlando location… I was excited. Our server, Chris, was excellent. He knew a lot about the menu and really helped my guest figure out a way to get/try everything she wanted to for the best price. He was polite and on point with everything. I ordered the half portion of the Parmesan truffle fries because the app size is massive. These things are to die for. I mean… once of the most yummy things I’ve had in a long time. The Deliverance Roll here is just like the«High Class Hillbilly» Roll in Orlando. It was just as I remembered. The BBQ was so moist and flavorful, the bacon infused coleslaw was amazing, and the crispy potato straws on top added a nice crunch. Love love love. I finished off the meal with a Rice Krispy Treat milkshake that really hit the spot. Good on you, Cowfish!

After having visited the Cowfish table at Unilocal Gets Lucky(cough, cough-maybe three times), I was so impressed by the medium rare burgers and chunks of sashimi tuna, that I was inspired to go. Fast forward one month. Sounds like a great place to go with the family after The Nutcracker. Unilocal app = take me there, please of course. Wow, this place is huge(and that was inside)! And just look at that fish tank! Pretty and classy! The patio is definitely the way to go — enclosed with heaters and the perfect mix of brisk and warm. At first I was a little turned off by the size of the menu(Cheesecake Factory Encyclopedia Menu Flashback alert!) but it’s broken into easily digested sections(hehe — pun intended). Anyone that carries Wicked Weed Tyranny Red IPA is near and dear to my heart — this beer is beyond amazing. Really well chosen selection of beers! Okay — hold the phone. Who thought it was a good idea to take a giant New York Barrel Style dill pickle, slice it thick and then deep fry it? Because I want to shake your hand — pure genius — BEST fried pickle I’ve had in Charlotte yet!!! The Boursin Bacon Burger was more than one human can eat — the toppings themselves, Boursin Cheese, bacon, sautéed mushrooms and grilled onions were a meal!!! The Bento box with your choice of mini burger and sushi is bound to be a winner. Why? Because you choose what comes in it!!! The edamame are a delicious and addictive side! Get them! Don’t get me started on the kid Bentos! Okay, you did! Ninja Nuggets! Real pieces of chicken not processed crap! And if you don’t go gaga for the kid sushi dessert(Rice Krispy treat with Swedish fish) and say«aw it’s so freakin’ cute» then you probably don’t think puppies and kittens are cute either. Now for the hand spun shakes… Vanilla with Mango and Raspberry — an ice cream lover’s fantasy!!! Can’t say enough great things — they must have some magic formula that just makes things work!!! Awesome job guys and gals!!!

This is located in an upscale shopping center that can get really busy and crowded. It’s better to just park in the free garage than try to find a spot in the shopping center. They use a fancy system to let you know how long the wait will be. They give you a buzzer and you can track your«fish» in an electronic aquarium on the screens in the bar or with a smartphone app. When the fish gets big, it gets caught and you get buzzed. We waited about an hour on a weeknight evening right around dinner time. As I get older, I’m getting more turned off by fusion. Inspired by other cuisines, fine, but fusion? No, thank you. I should’ve gotten a plain old burger or plain old sushi, but I didn’t. I got a fusion burger. It was bacon on tuna on a rice paper bun. I made a huge mistake. The bacon was good, the tuna was good, but that bun just fell apart and the combination was not great. The mousse dessert was delicious, though. The restaurant and restrooms were clean. Server was nice and helpful. Accepts credit cards.

Ok this is the ultimate fake sushi! Since I eat sushi like a «mi trang» person, I love this place! It’s American food rolled into a sushi. The concept of the restaurant is very straightforward merging Japanese and American culture. Like shrimp Marge(Marge Simpson in a shrimp body). A: The Nature Boy’s Woooooooooooshit buffalooooo — it’s an explosion of flavors in your mouth. Spicy so be warned, that last taste of jalapeño really gets you. It is exactly what you’d expect a burgushi, a burger in the form of sushi rolls. B+: Dougs Filet Roll — pretty straight forward with the filet mignon, it’s like eating a bowl of rice with cut up beef in a roll. Overall, the food was ok, but the presentation and concept was fun. Service was great!

Wow… What a concept. Who would’ve thought burgers and sushi on the same menu would work, much less BEAWESOME!?! Brief background — this is a sushi restaurant + burger spot + bar, all of which on their own would probably be good. Nestled in a larger shopping complex, this spot is remarkably big, with indoor and outdoor seating available. The menu is overwhelming, so do some research or, if you’re like me, opt for the bento box. As noted, I opted for the bento box which gives you a combination of burger elements, salad, sushi roll etc. Its a bit much as I’ve never had sushi and burgers within the same meal, so be prepared. I’d strongly recommend ‘The Boss’ though, so check it out. My only issue with this place is the menu — its really large and quite overwhelming as everything sounds great. That being said, I also say its an opportunity to come back here and try many more items. Also, not sure how sustainable such a large menu is, especially if you want to be «great» at either sushi or burgers, so I’ll keep that in mind as I try other places on my business trips. Also, I recommend calling ahead or somehow finding a way to get a table during dinner hour, as I’ve been told its fairly difficult.

Five years I’ve had Cowfish bookmarked. I now see that those were five empty useless boring years without bergushi. Skip the rest of the paragraph if you don’t want mushy details. I wanted to come here. I really did. But I wanted to bring my wife. When I told her burger sushi, she sort of flipped out. No, no, no. So instead, my daughter kinda surprised her and brought her here. And now, she’s a fan. Arriving after the lunch hour and before the dinner hour, we were brought to a table immediately. My understanding is that this is quite rare and you can usually wait for a table during the busier times. Our waiter was friendly, almost a bit over the top, but that’s just me. We had a plate of the calamari to start. A very large portion here. Really enough for three to share as a starter. For main, I went right to the classic bacon double cheese bergooshi. It was very very good, though next time I would drop the yellow mustard. Bite size pieces of burger rolled in rice paper served with excellent shoestring fries. Amaze! My dining partner chose one of the bento boxes and there is a serious amount of food there with a sushi roll, sweet potato fries, cucumber and onion salad, edamame and a slider. Wow. Good service, excellent food, really creative menu. Yes, they have regular sushi and they have regular burgers. And they have other stuff too. Looking forward to returning!

Had a business lunch here — I had the Tuna Nachos — or whatever the heck they call them! In any case, you get large strips of lightly seared tuna on chips with an Avocado and something else that is like a nicely spicy Aioli — made for a nice lunch time snack(after eating a rather large and filling breakfast earlier in the day). The décor in the place is cool and quirky! Service was excellent! I’d love to come back here again and try most everything else on the menu!

Burger + Sushi, brilliant concept awesome burger Artsy, trendy burger + sushi concept which works much better than it sounds. Moddern space near the Southpark Mall. Groovy pop art decorates the main dining area. We opted for outdoors which, although nicely appointed, overloooks Sharon Rd which is less than an optimal view. Cowfish gets the award for the best burger I’ve had in 2013 so far. Was bettter than Big Daddy’s. Options to build your burger here are also varied. Ingredients were high quality. M’Lady had a large salad which she enjoyed. Not really a date place as much as slightly artsy casual dining. And a really great burger. Much enjoyed. Will return.
