San Carlo Italian Deli

I love this place! This is a true authentic Italian deli. The owners are super friendly and treat their customers like family. The food is always fresh and delicious. Ordered the pepperoni pizza today and it was off the charts! Again, great food, great people, and great service. Don’t hesitate to try because your only cheating yourself!

I love this deli I love the staff I love the food I love the home feel of it. They always give out samples of bread meats cooked foods it’s awesome I always come here get my deli meats and the bread … Oooohh my the break it is to die for French baked smells so good bread I LOVE SAN CARLO DELI AND I HOPE THEY ARE HERE FOR EVER!!!

Great family owned deli, I love Gioviani. Must try the panzerotti and the proscuitto sandwich!

Everytime I have to move to a different city for work, I have a minor panic attack because I have to find a new Italian deli to get my sandwiches from. 4 days into working at Chatsworth and I’ve already found the best Italian deli I’ve ever been to thanks to San Carlo. The cold cut sandwich I ordered was absolutely mouth watering! Customer service was great; in and out with no added fluff. There’s one thing about San Carlo’s that you won’t find in many places; they prepare their food with true Italian love and passion. Don’t ask me how I know or to explain what that means; you’ll experience it yourself after your first bite.

Love this deli! We have been coming here for the longest time, the owner knows my mom really well. We get our burrata here at our established price since we’ve been coming for such a long time. Great family run business, although some of the other family members aren’t so accommodating or nice. Amazing homemade italian sausage too and tons of meats and cheeses!
Come for a quick sandwich or some pasta to be made or picked up, cookies, bread, or even looking for some imported goods, you may find them here! I’ve tried a sandwich here once, great italian subs!

This is what it’s all about! Freshly baked focaccia available in the morning. That and a smile is all it takes for one to have a great day.
Not sure where my picture went, so use your imagination. Round, Golden brown, craggy with fresh tomato. Mmmmmmm.

I have eaten here several times and it is excellent every time.
The sandwiches and Pizza are delicious as are the frozen entrees which are great to get and throw in the freezer.
My only complaint would be the hours, I wish they were open later… especially now, as a pizza from there would be great right now.

I love Italian deli food. It’s simple, straight up good food.
I came for the panzerotti and ended up getting their spaghetti and meatballs lunch special.
The panzerotti was good. Mozarella cheese and tomato sauce inside. It’s interesting to find so far two different Italian deli making panzerotti differently. Not quite as good as Luini in Milan.
The spaghetti was good. I loved the «al dente» noodles, but not the flavor. I had to add cheese, chili, salt and pepper in it. The meatballs were good. This dish was a good value as their lunch special at $ 7.99 including a canned soda.
My second visit, one being a long time ago. I would definitely return whenever I’m in the area. I would not come back and go out of my way to eat here though. I’m pretty loyal to Cavaretta’s and Cricca’s Italian delis closer to my home where I love their sandwiches.
I appreciated how they let me enjoy my hot food first and pay after my meal.
Recommended if you are near the Chatsworth/​Northridge area!!! Love it.

real deal Italian deli. we are so lucky to be able to have such an authentic place in the valley. it really does remind me of the delis in jersey. ordering at the counter. root beer in bottles. REAL hospitality. owners actually talking to their customers. come in. order your food. relax. eat and pay later. who let’s you do that these days?
the san carlo special is my go to. something about freshly sliced meat and in house baked bread that really sets it apart. the bread is just crusty on the outside and still has a good chew to it.
place gets RIDICULOUSLY busy at lunch so we make sure to get there at 11 so we can enjoy ourselves. I’ll be sure to try the pasta and pizza too next time.

For sandwiches I give a 4! Coming from the opposite end of the valley I am used to Dans subs, best subs by far! This place is very good especially for Chatsworth where we don’t have very many options! I wish the bread was a little softer and I wish they gave you the option of hot or cold for any sandwich.
The customer service was lacking. I did not get a greeting or a thank you or even a goodbye while in here.

This is a very good deli found hidden now the way long lines so you know it’s good they have great pizza great sandwiches great garlic bread fresh cut deli meats family-​owned and operated this on the best delis I found in the West Coast next time I’m down here I got to go back at least once a month Man I wish they had these here

Ate here for the first time today. I used to live in Chatsworth back in the early 90’s; I wish I had discovered San Carlo before.
The owners are very nice; I don’t know their names but the main guy behind the counter and the lady at the registered were both cool. I felt welcomed :)
Anyway, I had a Lg. San Carlo. Everything, bread, sliced meats and veggies was fresh and high quality,
I was very impressed by everything in the market, so I decided to do some shopping too. I got some fresh Italian bread, cookies and pickled peppers.
I’m a fan now, so I’ll be back soon.

I stopped in to grab a sandwich and WOW was I impressed with this places service. Every person there, the staff, the patrons, etc. stopped and gave me a friendly hello. Which made me feel totally welcomed. Next I ordered a Prosciutto and Fresh Mozzarella sandwich. As the guy behind the counter made it, another guy was making me laugh with his friendly small talk and banter.
The sandwich itself was delicious. The prosciutto and mozzarella were amazing. Very flavorful and moist. The fresh basil and oil they added to it were perfect. And oh my the bread they used. It was the perfect soft buttery bread that every sandwich is dreamed of being made on. A very very good sandwich. I will be back.
