Everything was delicious for breakfast! Large portions, good quality food. The pancakes were so buttery they melted in your mouth, the fruit for the French toast was super ripe and sweet, the cream cheese for the bagel was so fluffy and a perfect temperature for spreading and the bagel was toasted just right! They also had this house fresh salsa that was perfect not too much onions like other places. I will be back to try the lunch menu for sure!

I’ve been going to this local Chatsworth friendly neighborhood restaurant for as long as I can remember. The service is always homie, fast, and superb. I would recommend going during the breakfast hours(although their lunch menu is incredible as well). For breakfast my top three favorites would be the Californian omelette — cheddar cheese, sour cream, tomatoes, and avocado — the breakfast burrito, or Mexican omelette. All egg dishes come with a side of either potatoes(personal favorite), fruit, or tomatoes. .. as well as a side of toast. For lunch, I am a huge fan of the Chinese chicken salad, and their fries! During lunch time, complimentary pickles are provided while pending your order. I’ve also heard that the pastrami sandwich is a crowd favorite — not a fan of pastrami, but I thought I’d mention it. In regards to location, Country Deli is located in a strip mall on Topanga and Lassen, so finding parking spots may be a bit of a nuisance during peak hours. Overall, definitely pencil in Country Deli for your next brunch plans!

My most favorite deli of all time! They have the best menu something for everyone. I have never had a bad meal here and I have never been dissappointed with what I ordered. Their Matzo Ball soup can cure just about anything!!! Worth the drive past all the other deli’s. This should be the only one you visit. I promise it’s the best !!!

I’m a valley girl so many of my reviews are out here, but this place has had a spot in our family for decades! My grandfather used to come here at least once a week and I’m doing my best to carry on tradition! I’m in love with the Cobb salad! I don’t eat meat so instead of bacon and chicken they hook me up with extra avocado and eggs *heart eyes* They sure know how to treat a gal! The last time they gave me bagel chips and they were so delicious! I love this place, the staff is super sweet and accommodating. They treat you like family and you can tell that from the top down, the people involved in the place really do care. Treat yourself and pay Country Deli a visit, you won’t be disappointed.

Love the Country Deli ! They have a huge variety of food to choose from so you won’t have trouble finding something to eat. The service is always great and very friendly. Weekends are usually pretty busy especially from 10 – 12 so get ready to wait since they don’t take reservations. The wait is well worth it though ! Also very affordable.

I was at the Starbucks near by and saw a man with a sandwich. I was gonna grab lunch at Starbucks but went in on Unilocal and saw this placed so I grabbed my coffee and went in for a sandwich but came out with a wrap. Only thing I did not like was the deli mustard!(Not my favorite personally) but other than that the service was great easy and fast. The workers were all nice and friendly considering I just went I there for pick up. I will be returning only next time I’ll ask for no mustard. The chip potatoes I got were crispy and delicious with aside of ranch awesome and the wrap well let’s just say I didn’t get to finish it cause I was full.(It had a lot of turkey)

We found ourselves in the Chatsworth area picking up my niece at breakfast time for a day of clothes shopping and I knew we needed to fuel up properly before taking on the day. Not familiar with Chatsworth eateries, I turned to my trusty Unilocal app and began the search for something appropriate. I prefer the local kind of places rather than any chain restaurants because the food and service are generally much better, and I was lucky to find one that was less than a mile from where my niece lives. The Country deli is a great take on the classic L. A style deli’s like Jerry’s or Canters. They offer a large menu with many choices for breakfast, lunch or dinner along with a large bakery section filled with many tasty looking treats. Being about 11 A. M I was torn between going with breakfast or something off the deli side of the menu, and I think I found the perfect compromise. I went with the deli omelet filled with pastrami and swiss, pairing that with biscuits & gravy and hash browns cooked exactly like I asked for them. I even ordered a meat knish on the side as if I was not feeling the deli urges enough. Other dishes on the table included the french toast stack and the chicken and waffles. I loved my omelette, the chicken and waffles my wife got were a hit and the french toast also was very good(I had to try a little bite). Overall the restaurant was very nice, much bigger on the inside than it looks from the outside. I counted about 30 tables with more than 5 servers and 3 busboys and all were hustling to make everyone’s dining experience as pleasant as can be. Vibe in dining room was very relaxed, service was excellent and prices were very good. Menu was extensive and food was also excellent, overall a real nice spot for breakfast, Aloha

I lived in Chatsworth lake manor for 20yrs and moved to Canoga Park and I am finally trying this place out. I went with my boyfriends family to celebrate my 30th bday. It definitely is busy on a Sunday. The food all around are very large portions and the menu WOW, so large it was so hard to choose. I got to try everyone’s food because I was the bday girl. Everything is amazing. Pancakes are light and airy very good Monte Cristo made very well and not to greasy. Sweet potatoe fries are so beautifully cut, crispy, and sweet. The staff even sang me happy birthday, which always makes you smile. I will say the only flaw with this place is the front entrance is very cramped in and it’s very loud when it’s crouded. They definitely need a better waiting area. Hash browns could be cooked longer and crisper. Make your own omelet gives you 4 options for your omelet and $ 1 for ever other topping WOW that’s expensive. Kinda make sure they get a buck for everything. I am glad I got to share my 30th here with my family. Will definitely have to come try this place again.

The Country Deli is a great restaurant I used to come here a lot in like 2007-08 when I used to work out here in porn valley.. .no just as a web guy. The food is always good Fred is a cool kat and the staff is saucy. Today I found myself in the valley meeting with two dealers one from out of town Dan had to go and pick up his wife from Burbank Airport so Damon and I dropped in for lunch. Unfortunately my phone died as the food arrived got one shot but in standard fashion it was above board. We both got the Hot New York Style Black Pastrami sandwich which is a bit spicier than the Romanian Style Pastrami. I got mine on rye with pepper jack and a side of 1000 island and tater salad(trying make a mock Ruben) the bread was so soft I wish they would have toasted it a bit it was like melting into the cheese and meat which isn’t a bad thing just messy. Damon got his Hot New York Style Black Pastrami sandwich on a french roll with fries. I love this place its funny they have cheese cake but its from Cheese cake factory. there is a cool cigar place a couple doors down where they roll the stogies on site too! ahhhh

My parents moved to Chatsworth in 1998 and I remember going to Country Deli for breakfast with them at the time. It must’ve been a mediocre experience because I avoided the restaurant for 18 years until two weeks ago when my neighbor said to give it another chance. The place was hopping with people, lively and we quickly got seated at a nice booth. The menu seem to be more extensive than I remembered. I ordered the corn beef hash with poached eggs and home fries – my favorite breakfast combo. My mom ordered the breakfast sandwich w/home fries. We were both surprised how sloppy the presentation was and the taste of the food was not any better. I expected the home fries to have onions and green bell peppers. My mom barely touched her breakfast sandwich. Everything was bland. For being a Jewish deli the bagel was tasteless and I felt the whipped cream cheese was a cop out. Service was fine, hence the one star. Being a fair person I decided to come the next day for Sunday brunch with a friend. This time I had potato latke and Belgian waffle. My friend ordered an omelette with vegetables, home fries and a single pancake. The potato latke was tasteless and dry, and adding applesauce didn’t help. I’m not sure what they added to it, either too much flour or matzo meal? The Belgian waffle was very thick and absolutely tasteless, as was my friends pancake. The syrup was definitely not maple syrup as written but that’s asking for too much. However the syrup we got had such a strong artificial taste that made our stomachs feel bad for hours after the meal. My friend said his omelette was bland. Sadly another disappointing experience at Country Deli. I feel everything on the menu is $ 3-$ 5 more than it should be and the large portions doesn’t matter when the food isn’t very good. Overall everything ordered wasn’t properly seasoned, poor ingredients and sloppy presentation. I will not be coming back to try their soups, sandwiches and deli classics. I don’t want to spend good money on very average food again.

I have been eating here for more than a year. It a bit expensive for what it is, but it’s been consistently good, well prepared food. All that changed this month when I ordered a cheeseburger. Last Sunday I ordered a medium well cheeseburger and when it comes to the table it looks good but when you turn it over its burnt. Obviously the cook wasn’t paying attention so I send it back. No big deal. The replacement burger comes out and it’s ok. I decided to order the same thing today, a week later, and again the first burger looks great until you turn it over then you see that it’s burnt. Just like last weekend I send it back. This time the kitchen sends out a burger so undercooked that it’s falling apart which means it’s really not safe to eat. When I spoke with the manager, she didn’t apologize, she only wanted to know what I wanted to do. I told her that I didn’t trust whatever food would come out of the kitchen next and that I’d get lunch elsewhere. She just walked away. In the end this left me with the impression that the cook staff isn’t very good, that the safety of the food is in question and that the management does not care. This is a shame as I loved eating here and it’s sad to see this big of a slip so quickly.

Old school deli, located in a small shopping center. Although prices are a bit on the high side for the food, you get LOTS of quantity and the quality is great too. All in all, worth every penny. I tried the triple decker and it was way too much food for me to finish in one sitting.

I have not tried anything yet… I ordered a New York style Pastrami sandwich with steak fries… I can’t wait for my pre-flight dinner. YUM!!! I came in for a to go order. Service was great! Nice guys behind the counter. I will update as soon as I stuff my mouth!!! UPDATE In all fairness, I came for the sandwich. I do not regret. Pastrami came on a soft rye slice with a nice load of pastrami. Fries were undercooked, as in limp, not even golden… more like a sickly yellow? If these fries had a cold, this is what they would look like. Also, the sandwich did not come with the 1000 island dressing… I was asked if I wanted some for my fries, but I guess it was my fault to assume it came on the side for the padtrami. Wah-wah. I got 2 deli pickles! All in all. I would give this joint a 3.75. Not bad but could easily be better.

Wow. What a large menu. As a friend described it, it’s like the cheesecake factory of Jewish delis. The menu took about 5 minutes to go through, but our waitress was super helpful & witty. I eventually decided on the Pastrami Garlic Grill Melt, so good. Chips were ok. The pickles were also awesome. I’m pretty sure I’ll be back to try some, if not all, of their stuff. Pro-tip: Ask for a Roy Rogers, Coke & grenadine(kinda like a Shirley Temple which is sprite/7-up & grenadine). If they say they don’t have grenadine, they have it… somewhere…

The Country Deli is a great restaurant with one of the biggest menu’s I’ve seen, it’s awe inspiring and provides many options(sure, a lot of the same, such as their robust sandwich selection) for groups and families to have the«something for everyone» option… and if a person can’t find something delicious to eat, then they deserve to sit in the car or wait outside and starve, reflecting upon why they couldn’t choose one of the menu items to eat. They serve huge portions, which are shareable in size. The pricing is reasonable and proportionate to the quality and quantity, and expect about $ 10 – 20 per person with an avg of about $ 15 and probably taking left-overs for a 2nd meal. The service is fast and friendly. It’s a no frills family styled restaurant which is comfy and cozy. They have a desert display when you enter and everything looks great, especially the Napoleon and the Mini-Pies. You’ll either need to plan and save room for desert, or the best option I think might be to take deserts«to go» and enjoy them later at home when you re-establish your appetite after a hearty meal at The County Deli. I had the Rare Roast Beef with Pastrami(hold the swiss cheese please) Sandwich, which was cut into 3 equal portions along with my choice of a side. It was great. I did try both their french fries(previously frozen steak thick cut style which were deep fried to crispy on the outside yet fluffy on the inside perfection) and potato salad(I liked the inclusion of celery in it), which was refreshing. In the world of what I guess many call«Jewish Deli’s» such as Jerry’s, Canter’s, Brent’s, Langer’s, New York Deli, etc. — - I’d rank The Country Deli right up there among the top of the list. The only issue I have are the geographical logistics, with me being in the South Bay cool climate Beach Cities area and The Country Deli being in the Valley area of Chatsworth, which is about a 45 – 90 min drive(depending on traffic) each way for me. If I lived in the area this would definitely be a «Go To» favorite I’d return to frequently and patronize on a regular basis. If they opened up one in the South Bay, I’d welcome it with open arms and appetite. The parking is easy too in their lot.
