Saw a Robin Denevan opening here, which is always amazing. The gallery is very nice, a good size with space for refreshments and nice bathrooms.

My wife and I stopped into the Addington Gallery after having a meal nearby. The art you’ll find there is a fascinating array of mixed media, and many of the pieces in there are unique in that the art is not only on the front of the canvas but on literally every side of the canvas — the side edges, the top edges, etc… everywhere but the back. I love that idea — hang it by your staircase and you can see it literally from all angles! The staff there are particularly friendly as well; very helpful and knowledgeable about the artists you’ll find there. They also host some interesting art shows that I went back to see. Parking is at a premium, so your best bet is to take the Brown Line or Purple Line Express to the Chicago/Franklin stop; it’s very close.
