So much avacado. So much goodness. How do you top a moist delicious biscuit to make it event better? How about with a generous, and I do mean GENEROUS amount of avocado and garnish it with pickled red peppers and you have perfection in a bowl. This was a superb breakfast. You can even help yourself to the cold brew draft. Although I think a lot of refills might be dangerous for your caffeine intake. The seating area is pretty small, but they have a spacious outdoor patio. It’s casual, cozy and delicious. Everything that makes this a must on your trip to Chicago or jaunt around the neighborhood.

You know you’ve had a really good meal when 1) You can’t stop saying how good it is, obvi and 2) You immediately fall asleep after. When we got to Bang Bang around 9am on a Saturday, there was a line outside. But the wait wasn’t too grueling, even with the wafting smells of flour and butter. I got the sausage biscuit with egg, hashbrown casserole, and lemonade. When we grabbed a seat outside, we were pleasantly surprised to see an adorable puppet show happening. I might have been more excited than the 2 year old with us… But JEZUSSSS this was an indulgent breakfast. The biscuit was huuuuge and almost intimidating in an exciting way. The housemade sausage and sour cherry jam turned the amps up to 11. I loved the oniony hashbrowns with the crispy cornflake topping, and I snagged a taste of their phenom candied bacon too. Right when we got home, I was like«buh-bye» and fell right asleep — the biscuit belly struggle is real.

«Bang Bang into the room… Bang Bang all over you… Bang Bang there goes your heart… Back Back seat of my car…» Scratch that. No eating Bang Bang Pie and Biscuits anywhere near my car. I loooooove Bang Bang biscuits. Love them. Love them plain. Love them with jam. Love with them with sausage. Love them with sausage and jam. Just love them. The Huevo Biscuit has chorizo and I was so nervous about ordering it. –Too often chorizo is always way too greasy for my liking! Not this dish. –It was delicious. Along with the(non-greasy) chorizo were poached eggs, salsa verde, black beans, queso and cilantro. All sitting upon a perfectly fluffy buttermilk biscuit. Perfection. The pies are… good. I’ve had three of theirs now. The Lemon Honey Chess pie: Perfectly tart with a hint of thyme. Plus who doesn’t love shortbread crust? I did enjoy. The Key Lime: Good but definitely your standard key lime pie. Nothing life changing. The S’more Pie: Very, very, very rich. A graham cracker crust with solid chocolate on bottom with a toasted marshmallow on top. I was so «ho hum» about it though. While their pies are good, they don’t wow me like their biscuits do. I come here for the biscuits and pie is an afterthought. It should be Bang Bang Biscuits and Pies if you ask me ;) (song cred: Jessie J)

Really nice outdoor seating when it’s not too crowded. Overall charming ambiance. I would definitely recommend going on off-peak hours, if possible. The experience is totally different when you’re packed in a line on a weekend morning and desperately looking for seating versus relaxing on a quiet weekday afternoon outside. Pie slices are substantial and satisfying if a little on the sweet side. The passion fruit pie is really lovely with the candied pecan adding a great and surprising contrast to the marshmallow topping and passion fruit filling. Pie selection changes frequently– I check the menu before going to make sure there’s something I’m interested in(I tend to like fruit pies, but because of seasonality it seems that they more reliably feature chocolate and cream pies which I’m not as interested in).

I’m in love! Situated a little out of the way in Logan Square, but definitely worth a visit! Stopped by this Sunday(finally – after having stalked them on Instagram for the past 2 years drooling over all their offerings) and stood in a 10 – 15 minute line to get in. I ordered the Huevos biscuit and my friend got the chicken pot pie. We sat outside and enjoyed their adorable bench seating. The food was great – the biscuit was fluffy and slightly tart, eggs perfectly cooked, sausage flavorful, and green chile sauce super fresh. Definitely add their house-made hot sauce! I also tried a bit of the pot pie and it was crispy and hearty. I wish I could live here – or at least within walking distance! Needless to say, I’ll definitely be back. This is a try-everything-on-the-menu type of place!

Lovely pie shop, delicious savory and sweet food options, and wonderful staff members. The inside of the shop is very cute but the best part is the outside seating! Eating the delicious food from here while outside during the summer time will be so fun! We ordered the Rhubarb Pie and the Passionfruit pie, both $ 5 each and with tax came out to be $ 11 even. The Rhubarb pie was surprisingly delicious and it’s flavor and texture really surprised me. I’ve never had Rhubarb before so this first encounter with it was a for sure great one! The pie was not overly sweet, the crust was flaky, and I was in heaven the entire time while eating it. The Passionfruit pie was very delicious as well. With each bite, I wanted more. The crust on this one was a shortbread crust which was sense and perfectly paired with the pie filling.

Kind of a busy Saturday there, but we ordered to go, since I’d rather be eating comfort food in the comfort of my own home on a rainy day complete with stretch pants for pie expansion. «Don’t judge me monkey»(Grandma’s Boy). I ordered the quintessential rainy day feel good food. Chicken pot pie. With chicken gravy, carrots, peas(Jenny’s favorite), leaf lard pastry crust. «Promises and pie crust are meant to be broken» — Johnathan Swift A side of collard greens to make this all so healthy. The crust is unimaginably flaky and creamy and delightful and perfectly golden brown. The chicken is soft and succulent, along with the peas and carrots. Certainly comforting. Certainly not without buttons bursting. Happy for stretch pants. The collard greens were on point and added just a little bit of healthy. Ordered the chocolate malted pie special. Crust is perfect and thick, not falling apart, like a shortbread. Good flavor and held its own. The pudding filling is sweet and thick, perfect consistency. There is a caramel inside to offset the chocolate flavor. All in all it was just too good to be true. I looked at the pie, and I said to it… I can’t take my eyes off of you. Then I blinked, and somehow it was gone.

Bang Bang is a neighborhood staple, suggested to me by several people(and the Airbnb host!) for breakfast. Their biscuits are to die for and there’s something for everyone. Big portions, watch out! I went with the«Huevos» biscuits which were absolutely delicious and filling. Perfect with a cup of joe. The terrasse in the summertime must be simple divine…

Stopped by Bang Bang Pies to pick up a couple of slices of pie to go. I tried the chocolate pecan and coffee cream pies. The chocolate pecan pie was like your homemade Thanksgiving pie, only with chocolate mixed in. The pecans were crunchy on top and the filling was gooey and really good. The coffee cream pie tasted exactly like an iced coffee in pie form. It was a great pie to have on a hot day, and I would definitely order it again. While I didn’t stick around the shop to eat my pie, it looks like they have a cool patio area to sit outside and enjoy your food and drink when the weather is warm.

Pro tip: bring a date here and they’ll be guaranteed to stick around at least until their pie is finished, giving you enough time to be impressive and discover things you guys have in common. if you fail, just order more pie and repeat. Or go with people you know you like and eat dessert for breakfast while ogling all the cute dogs. Or go by yourself and take in the sunlight in the patio with a perfect iced coffee served on tap. Regardless, you can’t go wrong.

Whoaaaaasss. Butterscotch. Custard. With. Almond. Merengue. With. Shortbread. Crust. This, I am sure, is heaven on a plate. What did they put into this light, fluffy, beautiful pie to Make it so delectable? It’s not too sweet, the crust is SO good, perfectly crumbly. I am super picky about my pie and I really do not like merengue, but this– this is love. Also had the triple berry jam pie which was bomb. And the biscuits were crumbly and warm, making you feel that comfort food hug you get with really good southern biscuits. Must try’s– butterscotch almond pie Yummilicious factor — A++++

After hearing so many good things about this restaurant I was so excited to come here and it definitely met my expectations. The staff was very friendly and helpful! Overall, the place is very small. I would plan on coming at an off time or getting it to go. If you go on Saturday there is literally a line out the door all day long even during off times. I had the chocolate pie which was delicious! They usually offer about 6 pies, with one seasonal option. It seems like they rotate different pies every few months. I also had the hash brown casserole which was a nice delicious snack! It would be great for breakfast with an egg on top. The casserole was very creamy with bread crumbs on top. I’m so excited to come back, there is a grilled cheese biscuit with pimento cheese that caught my eye!

Alright I’ll admit it, I only came here because Foodbaby came here. I have no love for pies or biscuits.(shame on me!!) Stopped by on a saturday morning and there was a line out the door already. The line went by pretty quick, most people usually get their stuff to go. I picked the blueberry pie($ 6). Maybe i should have gone for chocolate. The blueberry had a tarty taste, crust was medicore. I’m a fan of tarty flavor food but maybe not for pies.

My roommate told me last night that he wanted to come here for biscuits in the morning. Silly guy, you slept in so I made the trek down California by myself. I just couldn’t be without my rich buttery biscuits and sawmill gravy any longer! There’s something here for everyone, by the way. Biscuits with eggs and sausage for the classic breakfast trio. Grits with toppings for the southern transplant(or wannabe southern belle) and pie. Did I mention the pie yet? Key Lime. Brown Butter Chess. SMORES!(If you’re lucky and it isn’t gone by the time you find out they have it). They always have a pie on the menu for every person. From berry to pecan, they can satisfy every taste. Flakey pastry and spicy crumb crusts hold up thick, glistening custards and light as air mousses. Every single one is almost too pretty to cut into – until you remember how delicious it’s going to be. My roommate and I frequently pick up a pie when we’re leaving work to bring home with us. If we’re lucky, it lasts us more than one night. Our friends frequently check our fridge to see if we have something sweet and delicious from BangBang tucked away.

This place is amazing. with a little work on the biscuits, they could be perfect.(This is coming from a guy who was raised in the south, where all good restaurants had great biscuits. Went here for a snack on Saturday and got the ham biscuit(with an egg). The ham was great. Fresh, hot, and freshly cooked and cut(think a ham your mom might make for a family dinner style, not pre-cut store bought). The egg was a very standard fried egg(hard to ruin). The biscuit however large it was, didn’t have a lot of flavor and was a little dry. Maybe I went on a bad day or maybe that is how they make their biscuits. Either way, I have had better, but have sure had worse. Also got the orange juice, which was great. Not sure, but it had a fresh squeezed taste, and either way it goes was great. I’ll come back and try the biscuits again, but also excited to try some pie!

Honest review: best pies ever! I would avoid the savory food wasnt that good. I would jus come for the pies. I would only come when they have unique pies or during thanksgivin Ambiance the inside is small but theres alot of outdoor seating though. Only issues i have are the pies are expensive i wish they would offer a cheaper tasting of all the pies but anytime i have a taste for pie im comin here! Savory bacon biscuit: the biscuit was fluffy n not dry n horrible like kfc but red lobsters biscuits were so much better lol. There was nothing special about it way to plain wish it was infused with something it was probably old. The collard greens were old i can tell n they werent that flavorful. The bacon was good but i can tell it was old it wasnt cold but it wasnt hot either it was tasty though it was crunchy but it was dry though n if ur gonna make it crispy being dry is a no no. The egg was cooked nicely wasnt over cooked well it was runny when cut into but it needed salt though all in all i wouldnt order this dish again nothing special about it could buy my own biscuits n make this at home way better. Cheesecake pie: idk the name i jus know it was the white pie n imma call it a cheesecake cause it tasted like one. the texture was perfect not hard or not supper moist jus really melted in ur mouth. It wasnt too sweet n jus tasted wonderful. The crust was homemade n graham crackers omg so decadent. Jus it tasted like an up scale version of ur plain cheese cake Pumpkin pie: i love pumpkin pie ik alot of people hate it but done correctly it’s fantastic. I never had one though that was really seasoned aggressively was really interesting like the spices worked really well wasnt ur typical pumpkin spice n pumpkin in a can. I believe they might have used real pumpkins because it wasnt orange it was brown. Really was delicous not to sweet, the seeds on top were a nice touch, the crust was a ginger snap i believe which was really amaizin nothing better then homemade crust Apple crisp: omg! Best pie in the whole world!!! Moments like this prove that sometimes food is better then sex. the apples just melted in ur mouth but still had a little bite to them so they weren’t all mushy the seasoning makes u feel like its thanksgiving the crisp omg so crunchy n rich like this would be the last thing i eat before i die its that good only critique is it needed more crisp on top Rosemary caramel apple: this was really interesting never had something with this flavor combination the problem was there was way to much rosemary to the point where it completely overpowers the other flavor u know that alot of rosemary flavor… It needed more caramel to off set all the rosemary flavors. The flavors of the apple were really good jus they need to fix the ratio of caramel and rosemary then it be a home run The things i didnt like were all the chocolate pies. they werent as good as the other pies i hate dark chocolate so i cant comment on the chocolate pies Coconut pie: omg this is what clouds taste like. The filling is so soft and smooth. I hate when fillings are hard. Had a really good coconut flavor. Then theres coconut underneath wish it was toasted. My fav part is the crust homemade cookie crust is the greatest. I love the whipcream wish all the pies had it. The meringue was delish loved the lemon flavor didnt taste the lavender though Bourbon pecan: omg they put alot of alcohol in it like first bite n ur spitting fire. It tastes wondeful so delish. I love that theres alot of nuts sometimes in a pecan pie its mostly the filling without that much nuts. The crust is phenominal! Love their pie crust here. Only thing wish there was another wow factor besides the alcohol Three berry pie: omg the crust is phenomenal i would jus eat a bowl of it. If u like a mixture of tartness and sweetness youll love this! Wish it was jus strawberry though since i love strawberrries. Then theirs a really tart sauce i really liked this pie would order again

On a warm sunny day in winter you can expect to find a crowd here. Heck, you can expect a crowd just about any old time. I actually prefer their biscuits over their pies. Simple and flaky… just how a biscuit should be. Now if you get a biscuit with ham you’d be doing yourself a disservice if you don’t spring for the extra egg. Just do it. The runny yolk was just the extra bit the biscuit and ham needed!

This is not only the best pie shop in Chicago, but it is the best pie shop in the WORLD! Fresh baked using organic natural ingredients in such a creative way that just the names of the pies make me salivate uncontrollably. Everything changes every week but I just got a slice of butterscotch almond and it was so good that I bought an entire pie.

I really, REALLY, want to give this place a decent rating. The staff was nice enough but the food was pretty average. For $ 7.50 I got a biscuit with a sausage and egg on it. The biscuit was REALLY dry. They give you jam, that is it. So if you do not like jam? Well you are screwed. The sausage was raw in the center. Overall, this was a mediocre place. Seating is SO limited but they do nothing to ensure that patrons are properly utilizing the seating. I sat near a couple with a child who took up two extra seats on the community table with bags. What? People are standing and packed into this one room but your bag gets to sit down? I just do not get it. At all. I would skip it. You can not relax and have a meal. Everything is RUSHED.
