So much food! It’s enough for multiple meals for me. Plus, it’s fresh and gets cooked in front of you, so no secrets or anything, which I really like.
I’ve had everything on the menu and haven’t come across a food I didn’t like. It’s all delicious. I especially love the gyros! Yum! :)
Cash only, but so worth it. I wish there were more places like G and N.

Absolutely horrendous. I read the other reviews and being in the area after leaving a bar, I thought to check them out. Ordered steak and eggs. I suspect they’re serving up horse meat. Took a couple of bites and gave up. Greasy and odd tasting. Threw the mess in the garbage.

Ordered the Denver omelet and was surprised at how huge it was. 2 meals worth of food for $ 7 even. It also came with fresh cut potatoes (hash browns), and 2 slices of buttered toast. Definitely going here again

Food is cooked very fast. The menu has about 10 items that are $ 10 and below. Great price for the hefty servings.
Only con is that they try to sneak more money out of you asking, are you thirsty or would you like cheese? They never said it was extra. I thought it was complimentary.

This place is great if you keep odd hours, like working nights, or were out partying to the wee hours of the morning. Its also a good spot if you happen to be in the area, or live near hear. This is a cash only establishment so have some money on hand. The items on the menu are moderately priced, but you do get a lot of food for your money, it can actually be split into two meals. They don’t have an extensive menu but what they do have on the menu they do well. I had the Denver omelette and boy was it delicious, it came with a big mound of hash browns and some toast. It was just what I needed after a long night at work. I couldn’t finish it all but I saved the rest for lunch and it tasted just as good then. And the staff of two that was in there at that time (4:30ish) were very polite and friendly. I hate to say that you wouldn’t expect that given the time of morning and the area, but I didn’t and was pleasantly surprised. I would go back here during the wee hours of morning or later in the day during normal people hours.

This place has been here for years, I love their breakfast platter and home made hash browns. I usually get the ham of the bone breakfast with over easy eggs and hash browns which comes with toast as well for the great price of $ 5.75. Can’t beat that plus hey cook it right in front of you. They also have oh we breakfast options, like omelets and grilled cheese sandwiches.

G&N is the King of Breakfast and has been a pillar in the Austin/​Cragin community for years! You can get the best Grilled Ham and Cheese sandwich here. Their pancakes are huge, you get plenty of potatoes and they do not cheat you on meat. Did I mention the food is VERY REASONABLE!!! If you’re looking for a great breakfast or a late night Patty Melt this is the place to come to. Do not let the neighborhood fool you!

I’ve been going to G&N for years. Their food prices are very competitive and the taste of the food is outstanding. I often order the exact same thing when I go there, and if the standard cook is there he already knows my order, which helps me get out quicker. The Denver Omelet is one of the best I’ve had. The steak sandwich actually starts with a steak on the grill.
If you remember a time when you could order at the counter and eat there too, then this place will hold a nostalgic place in your day. And the coffee is very good and always has just the right amount of cream and sugar.
Keep up the good work! Oh and congrats to the owner GUS for having the street named after him. He threw a nice bash to celebrate the event by providing free food for the locals in attendance.

Well they did raise their price a bit but its still the best breakfast grill in the Chicagoland area.

Denver omlette the best n cheap hamm off the bone and pancakes taste like cake yummm… its in the hood but locals dont bother everyones there for the food

This Breakfast restaurant is truly ‘a diamond in a rough neighborhood’- but if you are ever driving west on North Ave. stop by this place and mingle with the locals ;)…They are open pretty late 2−3am, but you generally have to order through the glass window after 10pm. If you ever drop by try the Denver omelet (believe me you’ll eat for 2 days) or the steak sandwich with fries (yes, they serve more than just breakfast)
