Used to love this bar. Stopped by last night after a long time away. Put $ 20 in the jukebox and the bartender switched it off to play EDM and refused to refund my cash. Goodbye.

So there’s a Groupon where you spend $ 11 to get $ 20 that you can use on alcohol which I think is pretty rare. That said, the Guinness is not poured correctly by the bartenders, isn’t really too cold and isn’t in a Guinness glass. Overall, for an Irish pub, this is a big miss on their end. I’d come back with the Groupon deal(which I’ve used more than once) but on a regular night without the deal, I’d go somewhere else. Plenty of options in the area.

Nice laid back place to grab drinks and food with co-workers. It’s a bar service is typical. Games are retro and fun. Theme is Irish.

Came here as we stumbled around Lincoln Park trying to find a pub/bar to grab a couple of drinks. This place was a typical cozy bar scene filled with college kids and local patrons. The music was great as there is a jukebox inside that plays the most up to date music selections as well as old school jams. Our bartender, Ralph and Mike was very welcoming and knew how to keep up with us Virginians! They were awesome and jammed out with us and kept the partying going all the way till they closed. I’m definitely looking forward to coming back when I’m in town!

Great neighborhood place. I love that I can eat whatever when I’m there. And the best part: Skeeball!

As a Boston transplant, it took me many years to understand that bars that were not Irish pubs even existed; this type of place runs in my veins. Being in Lincoln Park and near DePaul would make me think the clientele might be skewed to a particular crowd, but I’ve found that’s not usually the case at all really; I see a good mix of all types of people minding their own business chatting and watching the games on TV, never seen anyone fighting or acting belligerent nor been treated rudely by other patrons. I joined the skeeball league that plays at this bar and have had fun each week hanging out in the surprisingly uncrowded(most of the time) space. There’s a pool table for paid play in addition to skeeball when not in use by the league. The doorman checking IDs at night doesn’t act like a pretentious hardass, the bartenders are quick and friendly, the jukebox has good tunes, and The Athenian Room next door has tasty gyros if you’re hungry. Almost divey without many actual dive characteristics; pretty clean, laid-back atmosphere, drink list is standard; there’s no martini list for sure but there are a few craft options, and I’m betting if they weren’t too busy and the had the stuff on hand they probably would make you a martini, the staff seems nice like that. Recently spotted a Groupon for $ 20 worth of drinks for $ 11, so keep an eye out for deals here too. Overall it’s a pretty solid choice for a low-key or game day hangout.

I think Glascott’s is my favorite casual weeknight bar in Chciago. Tuesday through Thursday you can find tons of 20 something’s playing skee ball here and sharing pitchers of beer as part of a league. A great environment and the Athenian Room next door provides great food to patrons here.

Comfortable neighborhood Irish pub with a pretty decent beer selection. Plenty of locals playing Skeeball, watching«the game» on the pub’s numerous TVs, or just chilling out. What sets the place apart is that it is connected to the Greek diner next door. So, you can grab a cold beer while having a great Gyro from the Athenian Room. Makes for a perfect evening! The only advice I would give is that since the pub is the local«go-to spot» for University of Dayton fans, it can get pretty crowded with during Flyers BB games. Came in recently not realizing the UD/Miami Ohio game was being broadcast. The place was packed!(Didn’t realize there were so many Rudy Flyers in Chicago!!) So, you’ll probably want to leave your SLU tee-shirts at home if you come in on UDBB nights!

GOOOOODAYTONFLYERS! UD Baby. That’s all that needs to be said. Can’t watch a flyers game at any other bar in Chicago. They also have $ 15 buckets(6 beers) during the games. And the crowd is always ELECTRIC

Although my beautiful girlfriend spilled wine on me and was far too good looking for me, this bar was where it all started. A love story that rivals Nicholas Sparks’ the Notbeook, the rhyme to my reason, equipped with the beauty of a thousand suns, we began here. Great drinks, great beats, great specials, love the ski ball here. They always decorate really nice too. We thought it was called cold cuts for awhile, but then we sobered up. Happy holiday.

One of the most hospitable Irish Pubs in Chicago! I was out and about for a day drink, and these dear«brothers of the bottle» provided me with Jameson aplenty! Bless these fine men! My go to spot in this part of Chicago!

I like this bar because the bartenders are friendly, and it has a homey feel. I love it when I can walk into a neighborhood bar and not feel like I’ll be harassed by a creepy old man, be highly over charged for a drink, get in to a fight with a crazy local drunk, or step in who-knows-what on the floor in the bathrooms. This is that place, it might remind you of Cheers, it’s really that cool. What’s even more cool is that they have local craft beers on tap. What’s better than that?! Oh yeah, a game of tipsy Skeeball… Yes, you can do that here too!

Bought a groupon for this place. My husband and I came here after work for drinks. The bartender was very nice. They had great drink specials. They do not serve food here, but they are connected to a Greek restaurant that does. We were able to order dinner from there. Great place to just stop by for drinks.

We’ve been going here on and off for quite some time. Really good food with some great local brews from Half Acre and Revolution. The skirt steak is to die for!!! Our only complaint would the the skiball groups with all the noise from plopping those balls down all night. It’s like nails on a chalkboard or Chinese water torture.

I stopped by with a groupon on a Friday afternoon to celebrate being done with exams. BF and I got 2 beers and 2 irish car bombs. The bartender was friendly, the cubs game was on, and my beer was chill. I have no complaints for this place! I wish I could’ve eaten at the place next door but it was way too early for dinner. Overall, good and affordable drinks and will be back if I’m in the area!

I love this place! I’ve been here several times and I always try and end my night here when I’m Chicago. The staff is extremely friendly, they have a ton of different beers, the bathrooms are clean, and the prices are really good. The bar is narrow and long but doesn’t really feel split up in any way. I highly recommend this place, it’s cozy and always a good time!

This place is seriously my kryptonite because every time I come here the night ends in tears and/or a forgotten card at the bar. We end up here pretty often, unplanned, because my bf went to Dayton and this is the Dayton bar in Chicago. Pretty small and narrow place but it can be a lot of fun.

Really slow service. I literally waited at the bar and seen the two bartenders day dreaming…

We headed out to the city which is a rare occasion for us these days. There was an event at Glascott’s I had wanted to check out for a belated birthday celebration. We arrived a bit early for some food and drinks… The place was pretty pack! Turned out that there were 2 events scheduled and we arrived mid-event #1… We ordered a couple drinks and checked out the menu for the neighboring restaurant while we waited. I ordered a Vandermills Totally Roasted(the had it listed as a Cinnamon and Pecan) and the boy had a Lagunitas Little Sumpin Sumpin. Prices seemed about normal for the city(high…). We soon found out that the bar had double booked the 2 events and our event had been pushed back an hour. So we had our drinks and ate our dinner, and waited. After we finished our meal, we found out that our event had been pushed back another hour. Normally, we wouldn’t mind if it had been a Friday or Saturday, but it was Sunday. We had to think about the drive back to the burbs and getting up early for work in the morning. We opted to skip the event and figure the rest out later in trade for a good night sleep. We attempted to pay, but it turns out the bartender was totally cool and told us that our drinks were on the house. That was completely unexpected! We thanked him profusely, but he knew we had been waiting there for a few hours by that time. Overall, it seemed as though this is a decent neighborhood drinking hole. It was too bad they double booked the events and we couldn’t do more than sit at the bar and wait.

I literally opened my own beer yesterday, handed a closed beer and opened it myself. Maybe it was the rush of hmmmmm NOONE at the bar. These guys must get a good hourly because they could careless about schmoozing. Two people walked in about 10:26. 12÷10÷13 and they weren’t greeted or acknowledged, in fact they yelled, can we just get two bud lights! One bartender with his back to us playing a game on his phone, the other bartender on her I pad. It took them about 45 minutes to decide to turn off the obnoxious tvs after game for jukebox. Who’s in charge here?
