Paradise Nails & Spa

I came in for a mani with the boyfriend’s mom and was pleasantly surprised with the results. They have a good selection of colors and worked quickly and professionally. They even throw in a shoulder and neck massage, which is always quite lovely. We were there first thing in the morning so they weren’t super busy, but I’d love to come back later in the day so I can double up and stop in to East of Edens next door.

I rarely get mani/pedi’s but as the warm weather approaches, I decided now was a good time to get one done. The only time I had available was on a holiday Good Friday and knowing that these places get busy especially around holidays, I decided to call and make an appointment.
One would think if you do this — you will be guaranteed a spot. Well apparently not here. I made an appointment for 2:00 pm as I was getting out of work early and had plans later that evening. On my way there, traffic was beginning to get backed up so I called to let them know that I MAY be a few minutes late (I wasn’t) The person that answered the phone said.“No, Problem, we’re here waiting for you.“
When I arrived, I saw a disproportionate number of nail technicians vs. customers. There was only one person doing a mani and 3 others were working on manicures (which by the looks of it — looked like they had just gotten started) They seemed to know I was the 2 o’clock appointment because they asked If I had made the appointment– I said yes and they asked me to pick a color.
After ten minutes of waiting and no more acknowledgement, I had to speak up to remind them that I HAD made an appointment — one of the ladies said it will be 15 more minutes.(on top of the 10 I had already waited) — I could understand if I was a walk-​in and had to wait. but that is why I had called ahead to schedule an appointment. I had things to do and really couldn’t afford to wait.
Not to mention that IF they were running behind, she could’ve told me over the phone when I called but instead she made it seem as though they were ready for me for when I arrived. Not sure why they would choose to neglect someone’s scheduled appointment being that nail salons are a dime a dozen in this city and I walked out and found one on Peterson Ave that could accommodate me right away.

First time visit today. It’s very clean and I absolutely loved it. My pedicure is great. Tammy was very nice and professional. I will definitely be returning.

my girlfriend and I went to Chicago for a weekend to attend a wedding. she needed her nails done, but since we do not know the area too well, a good friend recommended Paradise Nails and so our journey begins. I was just to drive her there and wait until she is done, but she talked me into getting a Pedicure and Manicure with her. to be honest this is my first time getting something like this done so really did not know what to expect. the person who did my Pedicure and Manicure’s name was Trang. she was really nice and very professional. I really like the fact that this Salon prizes themselves on cleanliness. before she started my Pedicure she brought over a bag of utensils/​equipment (not sure what’s it called) in a sealed sanitized bag. I thought that what she was going to do might hurt but it was the total opposite. the feeling of getting your cuticle cut was surprisingly relaxing. And the massages (the best part)! I did not know that the services you are paying for comes with a foot, hand and shoulder massages. the people who gave us the massages had really strong arms and did a really great job. my girlfriend and I was definitely satisfied and would come back when visiting Chicago. It’s too bad that we are from st. Louis and will not be able to come often but still wanted to share our wonderful experience with everyone.

New owners after C n D Nails. Very young, owner not on site. Limited staff available. Technician needed to get home because family was waiting for him for dinner. He turned off the lights, met his wife in their car, locked up and told me to come back the next day and he would finish. I was sent home with no polish! I called before I went in to see how late they’d be open. They said to come in now, please. They said they’d be open until 3:00 (Thanksgiving) but shut the doors at 2:00.
I will never go back again. Three or four other nail salons in neighborhood, some cheaper. Not nearly the only game in town.
