My wife and I decided to try this place out after noticing that it had the highest Unilocal rating among our surrounding neighborhoods. A few other reviewers were comparing its burgers to Kuma’s Corner, rated the #1 burger in the country. We’d eaten at Kuma’s Corner on Belmont before and I agreed at the time, the Kuma burger was the best burger I’d ever had in my life. Believe it or not, the Sunny-Side Up Burger at Patino’s Grill is just as good, perhaps better. The owner takes a lot of pride in creating a great meal and is very friendly. My wife had the Manzano burger and she agreed it was just as good or better than Kuma’s. We started with fried pickles served with homemade horseradish aioli. I’m generally not a fan of fried pickles, but these were great. My wife, who loves them, said they were amazing. It’s hard to believe a burger, fries, and drink combo was only $ 7.50. He could easily charge double that and it’d still be a bargain. His burgers are ½ pound of 100% beef and the sauces are homemade. To make one final comparison to Kuma’s, at Kuma’s we had to wait about 15 minutes for a seat, another 45 minutes for our food, and there is no air conditioning(at the Belmont location). While eating my burger, I was dripping in sweat. Despite that, it was worth it. Patino’s was clean, cozy, there was no line, it was well air conditioned on a 90 degree day and the owner was very gracious. The place has been open about 3 years I was told, but business has picked up a lot the last year. I’m guessing a year or so from now, once people get wind of this very unassuming place, it’ll be difficult to find a seat. This is the best find we’ve made in years. I’ll definitely be returning to this place anytime I want an amazing burger.

Awesome, hefty burgers! This is my go-to place for burgers that have a great ratio of toppings, meat, bun.

What a find! This would be an easy place to miss, but thanks to a Unilocal search, we found it. The place is not fancy, but it’s clean and the staff are attentive and friendly. I wasn’t sure I’d enjoy pineapple or molé on a burger, so I ordered The Mexican with a side of rings. It was all made to order and brought to our table. After two bites, the regrets kicked in: Why had I eaten breakfast? Clearly, I would be unable to finish the burger, and it was superbly cooked(charcoal grill?), and seasoned. For the first time in 20 years I got up and complimented an establishment on its humble burger. I haven’t mentioned their homemade onion rings, but they were also great. But the burger was the star. If you’re anywhere near this place at lunch or dinner time, stop in and treat yourself to a superb inexpensive meal.

The food is made fresh to order. There is a good variety of burgers, sides, and a couple salads. I love the atmosphere: warm, intimate, clean, friendly etc. The prices are very reasonable and the owner, and order taker/cashier are extremely inviting and gracious which, to me, is VERY important when I decide on a place to give me business to. Dare I say that the burgers are comparable to Kumas if not, better. Yes, I said better. And guess what?! No 1 – 2 hour wait, no ridiculous prices or obnoxious loud music! Yay! This is a win win! Small neighborhood business that serves great fresh food at affordable prices. sounds like a keeper to me. I’ll definitely come back for more and I am very happy that I found a new place for my cravings. Keep up the good work guys, we needed a good family owned restaurant in the neighborhood! Kudos!

What a great find!!! First of all, this is a very clean, bright and inviting little place. My wife an I came across this place on a gloomy Sunday afternoon. We had ordered their Manzano burger but they were out of Pineapple. The worker/owner(?) offered to run to the corner store to get some for us!!! That’s customer service! We did decline the offer and ordered 2 other burgers on the menu. I had the Philly burger! Absolutely Tasty!!! My wife went with the traditional and couldn’t finish it! She wanted to, trust me! If you don’t make this your next burger stop you are a fool!!!

Possibly the best burger you’re going to find on Irving Park in this neck of the woods. Fresh, homemade, tasty. Prices are very reasonable. The owners/staff are very nice. Give them a little extra time on pick-up. if you like house-cut fries and delicious burgers, and sandwiches(chicken, italian beef, even Chicago dogs), then Pantino’s Grill is going to be a staple in your weekly carryout game.

Their manzano burger was AmaZINg! Their portions are large and the prize for their meal was too good to be true. But it is! I highly recommend this place. Definitely will come again.

Very good food. Hot. Fresh. Delicious. They allow you to sub the burger for a veggie patty for any of their burgers. So I tried The Patino and subbed the burger for the veggie patty. Absolutely delicious. My husband had the Chicago burger — medium well. It was cooked to perfection. He said it was juicy and delicious. The fries were also delicious. Very nice owner. We can’t wait to return with friends!

Had the burger that is the namesake for the restaurant(The Patino), and without a doubt: it’s amazing. The Mole sauce is fantastic and I’ve never had a burger with mole on it before. Very legit. No wait, plenty of parking, and super fast. Only thing that sucks is cash only but it has an ATM. BYOB too, which is cool. Would definitely return!

Great burgers! I just had the sunny side up burger and my brother had the Patino burger. They were excellent! I also tried the onion rings and you could tell they are made from scratch. The rings come with a tasty dipping sauce. Food comma setting in… DL…out!

Had the House BBQ burger. Was really good. Ordered onion rings instead of fries. Rings were definitely homemade and the horseradish sauce was amazing.

Seriously good burgers made with love. An unassuming spot on busy Irving Park with pretty easy street parking. Both the Manzano(bbq, pineapple, bacon and mozzarella) and Sunny-side(sunny-side up egg, cheddar and poblano aioli) were absolutely delicious. I could have eaten a bowl of the poblano aioli with a spoon, it was so good. Definitely worth stopping by. For reference, we live directly across from Kuma’s which is delicious but the burgers here are easily as good(possibly better, just don’t tell kumas)

Came here for a quick bite and saw that it had good reviews and figured«why not!» Pretty basic place but clean, staff was very friendly and attentive, food was delicious to the point we were both so full but couldn’t stop. I’d say the chef/grill master made this place– he was so nice! We ordered the Mexican Burger and the Patino Burger. Was it the best we’ve had? No, but pretty dang tasty. The queso fresco added a nice texture and the buns were perfect– fluffy, not too thick, but didn’t fall apart. On the Patino Burger, the mole makes it, but would have liked to have had some of the Arbol chili sauce on it for some extra punch. The Mexican burger really made a punch with the chicharron on top– nice level of crunch. All in all, for $ 18, we got 2 great burgers and fries. Check this place out– great to support the local guys too! Downside– cash only.
