Potbelly Sandwich Shop is what you would expect, a sandwich shop. Nothing special, but I have a son with a severe milk allergy and they are VERY accommodating. They make sure to change their gloves, wash the counters, get fresh knives… to avoid cross contamination. They are really awesome. It is hard to find places that are safe for my son’s milk allergy, but this is one place he can feel normal and eat at a «restaurant».

Normally I would never have anything bad to say about any Potbelly shop, as at every single one I’ve gone to, the staff has been amazing, courteous, and the food has been great. However, today I decided to try this specific shop. By far the WORST experience I’ve had at a Potbelly’s. The African American lady, not sure what her name was, was taking sandwich orders and making them. I asked for a grilled chicken with double meat and no cheese. She then proceeded to make my sandwich. As I saw it coming out, I told the condiments worker that it was supposed to have no cheese on it and apologized to her. She apologized to me and said she would have her coworker make it again. The sandwich maker made a comment to her in the rudest and most condescending way possible to tell me to say no cheese next time. She then got angry and sarcastically said she would make the sandwich again. Now, I understand that she didn’t hear me and made a mistake, I have ZERO issue with that. However to be rude to the customer and to encourage a fellow employee to be rude for absolutely no reason? That’s unacceptable. Of course the other employee did not say this comment to me, and in fact offered me a free cookie. To the employee who was being rude, you seriously need to learn some customer service skills. Your attitude towards me was disgusting and you were even being rude towards you fellow coworkers. I assume she was the manager from other things she brought up to her coworkers, and I have to say, Potbelly, if this is who you hire as managers, I’m extremely disappointed in you. I’ll never be revisiting this store again.

I went to this location today to enjoy one of my favorite potbelly sandwiches — the original Smoked Ham & Swiss. As I was about to order, the associate told me that they were out of original sized bread. Upon asking if they would only charge me for the original sized because it was not my fault they were out of the bread, they told me no. Because I still wanted my sandwich, I ordered it and begrudgingly agreed to pay for the price difference. Then, when making my sandwich, she asked if cheddar would be okay, I told her no, that it came with Swiss. But of course, they were also out of Swiss. So I ended up with a sandwich I didn’t want, paid extra money for a size I didn’t necessarily want, and the service was not apologetic for it at all and are making customers pay more money than they should have to. As someone who has worked retail for a decade, this is completely unacceptable and you should rethink business practices to think more about your customers.

Had two bad experiences here in a row. First time ordered a mac & cheese with no toppings and was given a container with 4 bites of food in it. I could see the bottom of the container, it was basically the size of a sample at Whole Foods. Just today I came in with a friend, whose sandwich came out of the conveyor before mine and the sandwich artiste asked what he wanted on his sandwich. She then apparently put his toppings on my sandwich. She then asked me what I wanted on my sandwich, noticed that she had put his toppings on my sandwich, and told me she got it right because my order was«very close to what he had ordered.» How she got it right before I told her what I wanted on my sandwich I can only attribute to telepathy. She straight up lied to me and told me she got my sandwich right, knowing I would be a mile away before I bit into that mayo-soaked disaster(nothing against mayo, just don’t want my sandwich drowned in it). Anyway, their staff don’t give a crap, they need some new blood in there. Only reason it’s not 1 star is because I’m trying to live my life between the 1s and 5s, ya dig?

Don’t bother… it is basically an over-priced Jimmy John’s or Subway. Seriously, nothing special about this place at all. If you’re willing to pay their prices, go to a real deli.

Ok, so at the end of the day it’s just a sandwich and I realize there are much more important things than this to be concerned about. However, as a consumer I feel I have the right to voice my opinion and share my experience. I get it. It was shortly before closing. There was no one in the restaurant when I walked in. The employees were trying to get ready to close up shop. Fine. The two employees that were working were clearly conducting some sort of inventory or what have you(counting avocados, etc.). When she counted only 1 avocado left she said«since there is only one I will eat it.» The young lady that was preparing my sandwich had to ask me more than three times which condiments I would like. She had to ask me repeatedly because she was more concerned about finishing the checklist with the gentleman behind the counter. I specifically asked multiple times for extra pickles. She kept asking«just lettuce and onions?» and I corrected her every time. I got home and my sandwich had ZEROPICKLES. I mean, come on. I consider myself to be blessed that the biggest thing that I have to complain about today is the lack of pickles on my sandwich, but this is a platform for me to give you all the feedback need to improve your client experience. I am not going to rate this establishment poorly because shame on me for supporting a Potbelly when there are countless incredible restaurants within a few steps of that establishment. Again, it’s just pickles, but get your act together.

Don’t expect great customer service or quick delivery. Took an hour and 45 mins to get two sandwiches. I called about and hour and 15 mins into my wait and they didn’t even acknowledge the fact I’d been waiting so long for simple sandwiches. Definitely going with Jimmy Johns next time.

Andersonville location– most of the time they are right on top of the lunch rush rarely wait more than 5 mins to place order. Staff is friendly. Shop is clean. Great place for lunch ! My boss orders lunch from here for entire staff at work on Saturdays. They usually have order ready when we pick up.

Despite Potbelly not being my top choice when cruising the sub-circuit, I will say that they make a very satisfying sandwich. A turkey flat with chips and drink comes to around 8 bucks and change, and it is makes for a solidly-filling lunch that stops short of making you feel like you over-ate. Perfect choice to satisfy after-gym hunger shakes, which is super-convenient for me as they are a few doors down from my gym. This cozy location will be seeing a good portion of my sub-budget for the forseeable future.

I just moved into the neighborhood. When I told the girl it was my first time she took the time to explain everything and walk me through the line. Friendly and courteous goes a long way in my book! I had the wreck with everything. Same price as the subway counterpart but a million times tastier! The bread was delish!

I just moved back to Andersonville(I know, how could I move away?!) and amidst me struggling to get settled. AKA, I didn’t have a can opener, I tended to settle on this Potbelly’s for dinner and was not disappointed. I always struggle to write reviews on chains because it’s kind of like, ‘sure this was good, but you can probably get the same thing at the other one a couple miles away too’. However, the staff here is exceptionally nice. I was frequenting this place quite regularly and even became the Duke for a bit and they assured me, through various forms that the secret menu is indeed a real thing and very tasty. From this day forward, it will be my go to Potbelly’s.

Had a great lunch @ Pot Belly’s today with my daughter. I had a Chicago salad, with grapes, dried cranberries, walnuts, red onion, and blue cheese atop romaine lettuce. I asked for their balsamic vinaigrette salad dressing. The salad was perfect, and the ambiance dining al fresco was mellow. Daughter had a ham flat bread sandwich which was very tasty. The staff was efficient, cheerful and welcoming. I will definitely be back. They have repurposed an old jewelry store, and have left much of it intact. I’ m sure that was welcomed by residents of Andersonville.

So, The facts are these. I do things backwards, like for instance today I went and had some froyo(dessert) before I had my actual meal(dinner), I’m just unique like that! So anyway, after I indulged in Froyo across the street I was still hungry and hadn’t eaten a real meal all day. and whats right across the street from Forever Yogurt but Potbellys! What a lucky break this was, so I ventured inside and the minute I entered I was hit by the most appealing smells/aroma. Fresh baked breads, and other good stuff. Potbelly’s is advertising a new sandwich called the ‘Toasty Turkey Blt“ with Nueske’s bacon so I thought I would give that a try. So glad I did, this sandwich is truly phenominal, just so perfect! The toasted bread, lettuce, tomato, bacon and mayo, just tasted so good, bread was warm and crunchy, bacon had a great flavor as well. The original sized sandwich cost $ 5.70, which is slightly higher than Subway, but, honestly, I could taste the difference between Potbelly’s and Subway and for a little bit more you really are getting a great sandwich! Got myself a pickle too for a buck. love pickles! Great staff of people working here, Kathryn took care of me today, but the whole team seemed to work in unison here, very nice! So, glad I stopped in here today, even if I had dinner after dessert. Still a great meal to top off my night.:)

We had a big event at Northwestern and ordered about 40 sandwiches. They were fairly easy to deal with, between our additions, time changes, and order changes starting about 10am and going to about 1pm that day. They delivered the sandwiches to our building and had them all packaged in nice boxes, grouped and labeled by sandwich type. We also got containers of all the dressings, utensils, and plates. But no napkins. * A Wreck(thin cut bread) — 3.5 stars pic: It seemed this was one of the more popular, meaty options. While it was good, it was still not as much meat as I thought, but it was tasty especially with the mustards that they gave us.

Potbelly’s is your standard sandwich place, but its options are definitely tastier and less salty than Subway. Personally, I prefer Panera Bread’s sandwiches, but Potbelly’s does offer those hot sub sandwiches that neither Panera nor Cosi offer. As someone mentioned below, the one complaint I have is the lack of vegetarian offers for those who aren’t the biggest fans of deli meat. Potbelly’s is more of a 3.5 stars than a 3 star fast-food chain, but I can’t really bump my rating to a 4 because it most certainly is not worthy of 4 stars.

So, poor old Erikson’s Jewelers finally died. And then Potbelly’s moved in. I know I’m a little late posting this information, but I do other stuff too. Like watch Murder, She Wrote and write letters to old people. I like the fact that the adapted the existing space, rather than doing a total rebuild. It’s good to see the old redesigned sign out front, and the tin ceilings inside. I enjoy this place because its clean, quick, and close to home. And it doesn’t taste like I bought a sandwich at Walgreens. No offense to those of you who like sandwiches from stores that also sell hemorrhoid cream and Durex. And best, I don’t feel like I just ate a fast food meal, even though I just did. If your in the mood for a sandwich, and you’re in the hood — stop in. Its affordable — and if you get a window seat, you can totally people watch on Clark Street. I frankly was astonished by all the eye candy.

Stopped in on day 2 for them. I feel that they did a nice job incorporating themselves into the neighborhood. Utilizing the old sign outside and adding the Eriksons name on the wall inside were nice touches. As for the food… nothing different from all of the others. I am really happy that a Wreck Sandwich is now only blocks away.
