TJ Maxx

Good variety of merchandise. The store can get a bit messy and things get damaged. Pay attention to the item before purchase. The staf is friendly.

I bought two Jones New York blouses for less than $ 30 each, a great deal. I also found a cute toddler outfit for $ 13, to give as a gift.
My shopping habits at TJ Maxx are hit or miss. It’s a good place to shop for women’s clothing, and especially at this location, the handbags. All of the racks and displays were packed tight with designer handbags like Kate Spade, Michael Kors, and Betsey Johnson.
The customer service could use some improvement. The cashier, a bit starchy, looked startled when I said «hello,» and another cashier was dismissive when a customer was seeking someone to translate to Spanish. Surprisingly, a customer overheard this, approached the cashier and offered to translate. TJ Maxx employees aren’t working on commission or making big bucks, so I understand to a point that there is no sense of urgency to assist. But customer service is still the core of the job.
Overall, I was happy with my shopping experience. I did not spend a lot of time in here, but I found some quality blouses and a gift for a great price.

This location isn’t the best, but It for surely isn’t the worst, either. Occasionally you can find some high-​end fashion jewelry, such as Swarovski and some luxury designer items, like Tory Burch and DVF. Otherwise, it’s the same old things that you would expect from other TJ maxx stores. The reason why I keep coming back is that this store has a better organization and isn’t trashy. The clientele consists neighborhood moms and kids, so you will hear moms discipline kids in whatever language. You will encounter this at any retail store so it’s not unusual. I still like shopping at TJ maxx if I’m in the mood for some treasure hunts.

Love the clothes, jewelry, shoes, purses and household items.

I’ve given this store a few tries and there is nothing to really report about this store. Very boring, doesn’t offer much. The staff all seem like they are half awake… I don’t care much for TJ Maxx in general since they all are very hit or miss. This one is a little better than the one one state street downtown, but is much smaller. The store set up is better than other TJ maxx’s I have been to though. I will give them that.

Used to like this particular TJ Maxx a lot, but last time I was there, it changed my mind. I was returning an item that was purchased a week prior at another TJ Maxx, I had a receipt and the tag was attached to an item. The manager (Jaimie Drozier) told me that he will not take this item back because he doesn’t believe it was purchased at TJ Maxx and suggested that I donate the item to a Salvation Army store, since he will not be taking it back, he placed it in the bag and basically shoved it in my face… Later that evening I went to another TJ Maxx and they had no issues taking it back and they even apologized for the other manager. I wanted to make sure that others will not be treated this way and called the district manager, Barb Menke, spoke to her assistant who insured that Barbara will call me back, but that never happened. As much as I love TJ Maxx, Marshalls and Home Goods, I think I will have to look elsewhere for my Christmas shopping this year… and avoid this TJ Maxx all together. Rude customer service that I received from a manager is not worth a few dollars that I can save on my purchases, plus there are other discount stores out there.

Sure to find gems if you’re willing to look.

Today I came to this TJ Maxx just to look for a cute shirt or something. I ended up walking away with a 50 dollar croptop/​poncho shirt for $ 12.99 $ 106 adorable bathing suit for $ 24.99, and a $ 130 velour zip up hoodie for $ 15. I saved about $ 230! How amazing is that?! I love TJ Maxx. This particular one is unorganized but the deals are so worth it (:

This place is great for buying clothes. They have quite a collection of clothes to choose from. The only thing that bothers me is the people that they hire to work there. I believe that they should have hired more professional people to work there. My experience there would have been a 4 – 5 or at least very close to 5 stars if it was not for the rude customer service there. It seems as though the people that they hire to work there believes as though the world revolves around them. They treat their customer with little and very close to no respect at all. I would have gone to the manager and have them fired. But I did not want to go through all the trouble of doing so. Perhaps maybe next time someone would take my place and go to the manager to have the rude workers there fired.

I like to drop in to TJ Maxx a few times a year. I love purses and love «the hunt» even more. Today I scored a sweet little bag and a really cool scarf. If I went here too often the thrill would be gone. Purse hunting is my own little personal pleasure and TJ Maxx is fertile hunting grounds.

I found a 200 dollar akademiks coat for 40 bucks. That is a savings right there. A great selection but whats up with all the Indiana Pacers and Colts items? We are in Chicago not Indiana. It’s just weird to see that. Otherwise a great store with all the designer names like G Unit, Phat Farm and so many more.
