Been here a few times and each time worse. Their salsa and food are bland. It just lacks a certain taste unique to each Mexican restaurant. It’s next to the theater so it’s good for a quick bite. The worst thing to do is order fries to go n they put it in a styrofoam container which steamed the crispy fries and made it soggy. Gross. Same goes with the carne asada nachos. It was pretty soggy and bland.

This place Has pretty decent food, however, Cashier/servant Brandy, the person who took my order was completely rude and had a bad attitude. I was charged for another item I didn’t ask for, and simply asked to get my money back. She then says with an attitude, «this is why I repeat your order.» Which she didn’t and I got my money back with cash, when I paid with card. This is completely unacceptable and unprofessional, and I didn’t appreciate the attitude she was giving me or any customer who has had a bad experience with her. Lastly, she almost forgot to give my boyfriend his drink before we left. Oh Queso is better and that’s that.

I used to go there pretty often, but their prices jumped. For 10 bucks a plate, you’re better off going to a regular restaurant with table service.

Portions are smaller than before, prices going up($ 9.70 carne asada fries) we spend $ 30.00 for 2 person and they charge $ 1.00 for jalapenos! Common people! Your salsas sucks and now if you want some chile’s you have to pay dollar

How do you order a burrito and it just comes with the meat? The cashier was rude, had no patience to answer any questions. Very annoying. Will not come back. Horrible!

I hate writing this review because Albertos has decent food! So I’ll gear this review towards the customer service. And it’s horrible. The cashier at the front called«Evie,» is flat out rude and ignorant. My husband and I are regulars and when we do happen to stop by, Evie is there. She looks at us like we have no idea what we’re talking about and rolls her eyes when we place an order. And when our food was ready, she called our order number subtly so we couldn’t even hear it. Albertos, you need to bump up your customer service because it sucks. Attitude is everything and right now it’s not helping. Change it to keep your customers!

Never eat here. I am currently dying. I have terrible diarrhea and I constantly feel like throwing up. Carne asada fries are what did it. Save yourself the pain and eat better Mexican food.

We spent $ 55 for 5 people. Food came out cold. Meat beans and rice. We returned the food and it came back lukewarm… won’t be back.

I just moved here from Washington state. I didn’t know this was a chain until I got onto Unilocal but anyway! I got the Cali burrito with shredded chicken. Thought it was great for first few bites. Now I can’t finish it. There’s only 1 texture. I know that sounds dumb but seriously. I expected there to be some pico/lettuce/etc on it to add some kind of crunch to it to break up the gooey textures.

Worst Mexican establishment ever!!! Since it is an Alberto’s, I expected the food to be decent at least. The beef and chicken tacos tasted as if they were microwaved. The taco shells were hard to bite into. I watched them grab the pre-packaged salsa out from a refrigerator, which is a clear indicator that it wasn’t fresh. The salsa was bland and tasteless. I was craving some heat or spice with the sauces! I was really annoyed that they literally hide everything behind the cashier counter. You have to wait in line and ask for things such as napkins or extra sauce. The cashier seemed annoyed and the customers are. not happy about having to bother the cashier for such little things. Prices were a little high for my liking. More than 3 dollars each for mediocre tasting tacos and about 5 for chips and salsa. Note: 50 cents for credit card use. The cashier failed to notify me about this charge. I only noticed it afterwards on my receipt. I will not be coming back.

Location is conveniently right next to the movie theater. The prices are regular for dishes $ 4 – 6 for burritos and $ 8 – 9 for plate meals including the beans and rice. I don’t feel that the quality is worth the price. I’ve tried the carne asada torta here at this location and it was dry and not satisfactory. It wasn’t until today when I tried the carne asada burrito that I realized the meat was unseasoned. I think I will try a different meat next time. $ 0.50 charge for credit/debit transactions.

I’m really bummed with last experience with Alberto’s. I been here a few times and thought the food was just alright. Tonight I ordered the chili verde which I’ve had before. But something was off and I can’t put my finger on it. I really think I ate some soap. I won’t be coming back.

I’ve always been a fan of Alberto’s, esp to quickly satiate my typically more-often-than-not Carne Asada Burrito cravings… this location, esp for lunch, doesn’t seem to get too crowded. Did run into one occasion when I called in an order, and they forgot to make it. Luckily, when I got there, there were only a couple people in there, so they were able to get my order to me quickly. So no harm, no foul, just a little annoyed. Typical Alberto’s menu; i almost always get the Carne Asada Burrito, and on occasion, the Chicken Chimichanga. 3 roll tacos once in a while as well. Love horchatas, so when I’m really feeling like it, I’ll get the extra large :) The best part about this Albertos is that it’s right next to the Harkins… so when we go watch a flic and I haven’t had anything to eat yet… Carne Asada Burrito to go baby and boom… I don’t have to buy a $ 5 hot dog from the movie theater. Yummy in my tummy plus movie… how much better does it get? Parking…at lunch, not bad. Evening rush with movies? Good luck.

I am so over this locations. My husband loves Alberto’s, he thinks it’s amazing(I’m just along for the ride, it’s not my favorite). So tonight we ordered a supreme quesadilla which comes with carne Asada. However I got a SHRIMP quesadilla … YUCK!!! Plus the way they cook the quesadilla all together sucks… There is nothing in, hardly any cheese. My husband ordered a bacon breakfast burrito and he was given a sausage breakfast burrito. He despise breakfast sausage so he could not eat he burrito. When we go to Alberto’s again, it won’t be this location, but will go to the gas station location on Reservior St. In Pomona… They cook their food much better and they changed their red salsa and it’s AMAZINGLYGOOD! More of a roasted red salsa!!!

Decided to eat here before the movies and I wasn’t feeling anything heavy so I got a few carne asana tacos and let me tell you. Those were some dry ass plain tacos. Even with the sauce it couldn’t be helped. The tacos were huge but they were so basic that it was horrifying. I managed to eat two but I was pretty sad. No flavor. Ps. My picture makes it look better than it tastes. Beware.

Ever since I started dating my gal, I’ve noticed one major difference between San Diego and the Southland when it comes to Mexican food: the Southland has more taco stands than it does burrito joints(and I ain’t talking about Taco Bell here). Hence, when I found out that there was an Alberto’s next to Harkins Theatres(and after doing a fist pump and explaining to Kathy what a ‘Bertos is), we came here on our most recent date. Kathy went with their 4 fish street tacos combo — they’re actually two fish fillets sliced in half, placed on top of corn tortillas and garnished with pico de gallo, cheese, and white sauce. To her, this was the perfect size and she finished them off with gusto. My order was for a San Diego special — the California burrito. For those of you wondering what it is, it’s a carne asada burrito filled with cheese, french fries, and pico de gallo… not only is this burrito the size of my forearm, biting into it was like having a taste of the burritos in my hometown of SD! Very filling, even if the carne asada was a bit on the chewy side. Surprisingly clean restaurant location(it even beats some of the Alberto’s locations in SD!), with at least 2 large flat-screen TVs on. Plus, very affordable prices — but no free hot carrots, what’s up with that? — and you have a very happy couple that’s planning our next visit. In fact, I hear that Super burrito calling my name…
