Awesome customer service BUT the food was horrible. Bought some pancit and lumpia for my family on Friday and when we all sat down to eat we could only take a few bites because both dishes smelled like old cooking grease. That night we all got real sick. Vomiting, nausea and my youngest had runny poop. What’s weird is that our vomit smelled like the old cooking grease. Today is Sunday and we are finally feeling better. Doctor told us it looked like food poisoning. If you are reading this post STAYFARAWAYFROMTHISPLACE!!! You’ve been warned!

Chowking exemplifies the typical Filipino service. So I wait in line then when I attempt to order their sweet and sour pork they go, «ay sorry sir hindi available yan» Translation«Sorry sir we don’t have it. So I decided to order their taho instead… and they answered. «Sorry sir wala pang taho linuluto pa» which basically is another dumb reason they dont have the stuff. WTF its 11AM. I’m not sure how Chinese restaurants do it they can cook anything from scratch within 10 minutes supposedly Chowking is fastfood Filipino style. FAIL!

So I am Filipino, but I rarely eat food from these Filipino fast food chains… Randomly decided to get breakfast with the family at the Seafood city food court the other day. We ordered their«Chinese» style fried chicken… I didn’t care much for the rice, I’d much rather have homemade garlic fried rice… Anyways, I’m not quite sure what made this chicken«Chinese» style, but I actually liked it a bit… The skin/batter was just a thin layer, but super crispy. And the chicken itself was nice and moist. Not too salty, good flavor. We were given a buzzer after ordering and it took several minutes for our food to be ready.

Basically stop by here when I am down SouthBay area. Its basically inside Seafood City Market. Its basically serve a quick Filipino fast food, I only ordered the breakfast menu which has four variations which all of it has white rice and egg I tired the Tocino(Filipino bacon) and Bangus(milk fish) Its basically satiate my Filipino food craving. The big plus its cheap $ 6.95!

Got the yellow rice and ube shake for my mom. I stood there and two ladies that were up front didn’t even awknowledge me. I looked at them but they were staring or dazing off somewhere. So i went a bit more closer to the counter it took them awhile to even realize I was there. I said, «Hi.» And they looked at me like I snapped them out of what they were staring at or paying attention at. Anywho customer service wasn’t that great. Got yellow rice where it wasn’t even that yellow like the one served in National City. So yeah, it could’ve been better but I prefer going to the National City one even though the location sucks.

Very considerate. I mistakenly thought chao fan is a soup but they let me change it I will still give them 5 stars even though sometimes it took more than 5 minutes for my orders they were lacking of employees. Sometimes those in management team are doing the order taking and the cooking thingy i don’t know, the girl is always go front and back Oh and one more thing their menu boards are kinda confusing, i can’t see right away the add $ 1 for a drink. But okay then still a 5

My experience here has gotten worst each I’ve been there. My only reason I kept going back was cause my son loved their garlic pork chop but each time I’ve gone back, the portion got smaller and service took longer. None of the employees smiles or seem to care about the customer service. I won’t be surprise if this place is the next to go.

Very upset with this place, first time I’ve eaten here because my wife and I were at Seafood City with my mother in law groceries shopping. So we arrived and there were no line waiting. My wife ordered a two piece chicken meal and notice that they did not give us gravy. No big deal, so I went to the counter and they had no gravy!!? Chicken with no gravy… So we said fine no big deal too«can we get ketchup?» And long behold they had no ketchup as well… I had to go I jollibee to get some, a place that sells food especially chicken should have at least ketchup… It’s the universal condiments… I would suggest if you are coming to this place to make sure they have all you condiments and food available first before you order, otherwise you being duped for your money… Pretty disappointing… I don’t think ill be coming to this chow king anymore…

This is that Chowking inside SEAFOODCITY in Orange Ave, Chula Vista CA. If there is a zero star that would be my choice. I went there @ 4:15 pm, so hungry, decided to go for something simple 2 chicken & rice combo. Order taker Francis Edward J said 5 minutes. Ok I can wait. Over 5 minutes later I got my food. Took my first bite, FREAKINGTASTELESSEXCEPTFORTHEOLDOILTHEYUSED. I asked for a gravy. Francis Edward said NOPE sorry. Of course they don’t have gravy! I CANNOTEATTHIS! But i am one of those who cannot return food coz I know a bad place like this will just have the punk cook spitting on my food. So I walked over to JOLLIBEE’s a few steps aways. Why do I even get anything other than Jollibee’s. People if you are in Seafood City, hungry, save time and money & just order Jollibee’s chicken. CHOWKINGIS A WASTEOFMONEY!!! They don’t even care if they suck. Francis Edward wastched me eat Jollibee’s Chicken in front of their counter.

The food is mediocre and the wait time is can take forever. I had a bad experience with this location tonight. I specifically requested for no green onions as I am allergic. the cashier saw the cook put the green and told in Tagalog that I requested to no green onions. I know I don’t look like I understand, but I do. I heard the cook say«just give it to her she won’t know the difference.» I tried to explain that I was allergic and would not take the food. the cook said that I was being«ma arte» I decided to walk away and not take the food because if I asked for them to make another soup for me I know the cook would have put something horrible in my food.
