Ocean City Restaurant

There aren’t to many good Chinese buffets down south but ocean city those the job. The price and the food options are delicious. I keep going back for the salt and pepper chicken wings.
To wrap things up if your hungry and want decent food for cheap this is your stop.

This place is terrible, food tastes stale and old. Made a plate to go and the waitresses are literally standing right behind me watching me fix my plate. The food is no Bueno. I would not recommend this spot to anyone.

I’ll keep this short. Walked in and walked right back out. I should of known by how empty the place was. All the food looked like it had been sitting for hours, well the food that was left. I will never go back.

Went here on a sunday for lunch. Very limited selection, food was not fresh. Salt and pepper wings were soggy and not crispy. The majority of the food there was just not satisfying. I definitely would not come back or recommend to anybody. Fyi: i rarely dislike a food place but this place was just sad.

No body knows what they are talking about. This place is fantastic! Delicious! So fresh! I loved everything I ate. I will be back.

Not great taste; some food was a bit stale. But cheap, I come here sometimes only because it’s walking distance from me and moms house, so we come here sometimes for some «son and mom» time.

My kids really like it here and it’s really really close to my house. Seems like every time I order to go tho their getting shittier and shittier and customer service. Last few times I’ve gone I have to ask for napkins and soy sauce and all that stuff. Things they should automatically give you if it’s a food place like hello… common sense. I haven’t gone though for a while because of my last experience… I ordered my food to go and had to ask for my eating utensils and they were in a rush to. hurry up and give me my receipt to pay. When I went up to the counter I all ready had my. money in my pocket ready to pay. I stood there for a good 5 minutes waiting for someone to come up charge me I look back and see all the employees lunching it up and just looking at me. Not one of them bothered to get up and help me or even go. get someone to help me. I was even thinking about walking out. Like wtf your in. a rush to. get me out and then there’s no one there to charge me. I was pissed! And when I pay they didn’t even say thank you or bother to look at me. I’m.never the type to leave money on the counter and have them. grab it theirselves because I see it’s very disrespecting but this time I did and felt very disrespected myself. Left the money there and left. This was a few months ago and since then. I haven’t gone back I don’t think I will either. I was a loyal frequent customer but they treated a regular like shit. Besides that tho the food is all right. Not much variety but it is cheap and I’ve seen people grab their own food to go before but I have never been. able to makes u think who they favor more. Weird but the ladies don’t even. understand u half the time either. giving it 2 stars for the quality of the food and it’s cheap. But ocean city you lost a frequent customer :) step. your game up illeriate ass people

This place has been here since I was a kid and it was one of the places we would usually go to after morning church on Sundays. There is always a good variety of seafood dishes, then they have a little bit of the american side such as fries and chicken wings (which is pretty good). Dishes are always tasty and delicious, and utensils and plates are very clean. I enjoy this place on a week to week basis, I’m sure you will too.

This place has been here forever. Used to go here with my dad all the time when I was younger. It’s been maybe 10 years since I’ve been back! The food has changed. It’s dive-​ier than I remember and the quality of food went down a little, but it’s still cheap. A little more than $ 10/​person for a full buffet. There’s a ton of selection and they have shrimp and crabs… ain’t mad at that!!! Definitely not my most favorite Chinese restaurant in San Diego, BUT it’s near my house and my boyfriends place so if I’m craving Chinese, I would’t mind coming here.

Ocean city, home of Chinese food, to go or buffet. First time I came here I wasn’t satisfied completely for some reason. I did not however scratch it off my list. That decision came from all recommendations from friends and family. Figured if they like it, then I must like it too. That said, I think, variety is on top of this serve yourself, Chinese & seafood buffet. The price is right on the quality they serve, so don’t expect caviar for the dollars you put up. Servers have always nice to you, although sometimes you just need to stand up and get things for yourself since they will seem busy doing other things like eating.(Happened twice to me) That is ok, really, it is a buffet after all, if you’re getting up to serve yourself might as well get all you need to have a descent meal with all you necessities around you. Ok so the food overall is good, drinks are a different story though, sodas will be as expected, loaded with carbonated water. I usually just get tea. They have plenty of parking available and have notice they get really busy Saturdays and Sundays. But still, you’ll be in and out in no time.

Good price for Chinese buffet, food can be better quality but hey for 10 bucks can’t beat the price.
Some employees don’t speak English so might be tough to communicate

The food is tasty and there is plenty to chose from. The employees very friendly. Clean bathrooms! :)

This restaurant was here when we moved into town in 1962, yet first time here was dinner a couple if nights ago. Large dining area and popular.
Lots of sea foods along with other Asian dishes. Plenty of variety. But, to me, the good was pretty blah. Nothing distinctive leaps out for me.
It is a great place to sample dishes. Truly you can try a bunch.
Price was amazingly low. I had a pot of jasmine tea and the buffet, with tax it was $ 11.60,

I just left this place. Paid $ 10.50 for a heart attack waiting to happen! In the beginning the food was decent, but when I started getting 2nds & 3rds oh by what can I say! Gross!!! I paid for it when I got home. I vomited everything out!!! Didn’t even have time to digest my food, everything came out in chunks! NEVER I WILL GO THERE AGAIN! DONT WASTE YOUR TIME!!! SPEND YOUR MONEY ELSE WHERE. IM SORRY TO BE SO CRUEL BUT RUNNING A RESTAURANT YOU SHOULD TAKE PRIDE ON WHAT YOUR SERVE. Obviously this cool didn’t care. After this experience I think I’m done with Chinese food for awhile.

The food is so nasty!!! The walls are dirt, food is bland and undercooked. I will never come again.

Altough it was not expensive at 9.95 for a buffet, and I actually found out 2 items that were decent, im rating this 2 stars.
the reason it has 2 stars is because the selection is very limited, 9 out of 10 items on the steam table are dry or greasy and old, the restaurant dining room is dirty, and someone needs to remove all the gum on the floor by the entrance.
The only 2 products that were decent were orange chicken and noodles.
Will not be back again.

I LOVEEEEEEE the food.
I’ve been coming here for about 10 years with my family and we always love it.
Sure sometimes there is a dish that’s a bit dry, but it’s not a persisting problem.
The buffet is inexpensive and the food is filling.
I loveeee the chicken dishes here along with the desserts.
Service is great, the waitresses are really nice and easy to talk to. They even speak Spanish xD
The only time it’s a bit uncomfortable to eat is when more than one bus filled with tourists show up and it gets really really busy. The tourists are sometimes rude too :/​
But it doesn’t happen always!
Other than that, I will continue to frequent this place.

I used to be a regular here. I had always found their food to be far and away better than your avereage steam-​table buffet. Dishes here were always fresh, and I had no problem recommending Ocean City to my friends.
I hadn’t eaten here in several years, and in my absence a beloved neighbourhood eatery has gone right into the Pit of bad Chinese buffets.
The vegetable were all limp, the meat was scarce — although part of that is probably due to the fact that trays were not being rotated out in a timely manner — and I was there at high lunch, when by all that’s good and right in the universe, things should have been changed out. The seafood was not the high-​quality that used to populate the fare.
In short EVERY single item I put on my plate was disappointing, if not inedible. Flavors were dull and muted (everything tasted like pre-​made commercial mixes and sauces — straight from the container). The one item that tasted good (the salt and pepper squid) was cold, cold, cold.
I left after taking one bite of everything on my plate. When I was paying, I expressed my displeasure in a calm, reasonable fashion (NOT angling for a discount, mind you) and the reaction from the fellow at the register was basically «Yeah. So what?»
I don’t generally give bad reviews unless they are really deserved, and I must say that this fall from grace was sad and disappointing, and if Unilocal!allowed the use of negative numbers, I would be deciding how many places to the left of zero this review would fall…

A reasonably priced buffet. Good selection. Mostly Asian food. Good fish fillets and hearty Mexican seafood soup. They served grilled white bell peppers, which were OK. They frequently refresh the buffet steam table. The food was good. Frozen yogurt was mediocre. Good value for your money.

That will be your experience here. The food although not spectacular is good enough for the price. Their rice is good and chow neon pretty decent. Stay away from the BBQ pork which is greasier than a movie with queen latifah, chris Farley and the fat guy from super bad.
Do try the wings. Get yourself a plate-​full and put some lime, soy sauce and some Sriracha on it. You will thank me later.
Ocean city also happens to be super inexpensive. A Chinese food buffet under 10 bucks? Yes sir let’s do it.
