I was looking for a quick lunch before a meeting. I found this place on Google and didn’t realize it was just a small food truck. I went ahead even though it looked a little shady and was in the parking lot of a Toys R Us. Surprisingly the food was pretty good. Nothing special but decent fish tacos.

Best fish tacos I’ve ever had. Not exaggerating but wow their fish tacos are to die for, I have also tried their campechana one of the best. Try this place you won’t regret it. This is a seafood lovers paradise.

Craving some aguachile??! Maybe any Mexican seafood? Well. If you can stop by this little food truck, do it. This food truck offers a variety of seafood ranging from aguachile, to tostadas, cocteles(seafood coctails), tacos, burritos, quesadillas, and small snack side dishes. A friend has been raving about this place and when I was finally in the area decided to give it a try. Ordered the Aguachile tostadas and a Shrimp quesadilla. Omfg, best shrimp quesadilla ever. Aguachile was full of fresh seafood, a mixture of ingredients that honestly I didn’t pay much attention to. Point it, if I didn’t pay attention it’s because my brain was thinking: eat… Must eat. I love a place that can their seafood some heat, my nose was a little runny but I wasn’t complaining. If possible, order ahead especially during lunch hour because although small, this place can get a mob of customers assembling real fast. Nom nom. P. s. They do accept credit, and it’s seafood so it ain’t cheap.

Diabla shrimp burrito and a fish taco. AMAZING. I know my Mexican food, having traveled down in Baja. This taco truck was better than good!

Omg. You must try. Great prices and menu variety. If there’s a line(which there probably will be) don’t be discouraged. It moves fast enough and doesn’t take too long. Don’t drive by and not stop!!!

This mariscos truck is by far one of the busiest trucks operating in the south but every time I visit there still serve questionable quality seafood. Recently, ordered the tostada mixta and it was total trash bits of shrimp and basically tasted like a shrimp cocktail that was blended in mincer machine. It was just all mush in a cup with only 1 piece of scallop and two pieces of welk(sea snail). No octopus or fish as stated on the menu board. Huge RIPPOFFFF! Also ordered a LARGE clamato preparado recently and it was made perfectly yet I paid the price of $ 14 and only had maybe 7 pieces of shrimp in the entire cup. El Prieto mariscos lunch truck serves more shrimp than here but the flavor of the clamato juice and the lucas around the rim of the cup from El Pescador taste is better. The fish tacos are always consistent and actually prefer a fish taco from here sometimes over other mariscos trucks, but the wait times make this truck a last resort. Food preparation can take forever when ordering in person or over the phone. No matter what you order or what time of day. I’ve even done phone orders and they tell me 20 minutes and then when I have shown up at the stated time I end up waiting another 20 minutes. Not worth the wait if they wait to prepare my order after I have already arrived and paid.

These fish tacos are official. So far out of the 5 – 6 places I’ve tried, these were my favorite. Great flavor and the fish inside was perfectly crispy. Throw a little hot sauce on there and you’re in business. Also got a shrimp taco which was really good too. Can’t speak for anything else on the menu though. Helps to speak spanish, but honestly, you don’t need to know much as long as you can as you can say«taco» and«pescado». Place is in a dumpy parking lot in Chula Vista, but that just means there’s plenty of parking. I ate sitting in my car and it was heavenly.

This truck serves the best fish tacos I’ve tasted in my life. Even as I type this review, I’m debating with myself whether or not I should head down south and order some today or even, now. I’ve tried the regular fish tacos and the grilled and they were nothing short of yumazing. Yes, I made up a new word. I still haven’t ventured and tried other things on the menu only because their fish tacos are just that damn good. I will one day, however, try to be more adventurous and try other stuff off the menu.

We’ve only been here for the tacos but we prefer it to the Mariscos German truck. The spicy shrimp tacos and the spicy grilled fish tacos are what we enjoyed the most. They have the most seasoning and taste the best on their own without having to add additional sauces. We also tried the regular fish tacos(deep fried fish) which were good but not really as memorable as the spicy shrimp and spicy grilled fish tacos. The regular grilled shrimp tacos are good but again nowhere as good compared to the spicy grilled shrimp tacos. We also tried the gobernator once since one of the people waiting in line told us that it was good. He also told us that the marlin was good as well. Basically, the gobernator is a grilled shrimp taco with a lot of grilled onions and green peppers in it. The grilled vegetables definitely changed the way the shrimp taco tasted. We actually did not care for it and will stick with the regular grilled shrimp tacos instead. While waiting in line, a lot of people were ordering tostadas which appeared to be mainly topped with ceviche type preparations of various seafood items that you can choose. We didn’t try the tostadas but they did appear to be popular items. When we’re in the San Diego area and in the mood for fish tacos, this is definitely one of the places that we hit up. For tacos in a more fancy setting(read expensive), we also enjoy Puesto( ) but for a more truly authentic experience, you can’t beat this place.

I guess the reviews had set my expectations a bit high. I waited about 30 minutes for 2 orders of 3 shrimp tacos. This was on a Sunday. Maybe they’re busier on the weekends? Don’t get me wrong the tacos were good… but not amazing. Not worth waiting 10 minutes in line then half an hour for them to give me my order. So 40 minutes total wait time. They tasted as good as any other food truck I’ve tried. If you’re craving shrimp or fish tacos go to another food truck without such a long wait.

The fish tacos, both standard and grilled with garlic, were amazing. Salsa and limes on the side so you can season it just how you want. The shrimp and beef quesadilla was also fantastic.

Not sure what the hype is about. Maybe I got the wrong things, but the food was not good. I got the scallop tostada and the biker taco. They were both bland and just not worth eating. The line is pretty long and this place is busy. I thought that meant the food was good, but I was very disappointed.

First time at this famous taco truck located in the toys r us parking lot. I tried a grilled fish taco($ 3) and surf and turf(steak and shrimp $ 4.) Absolutely delicious, authentic tacos! Felt like i was in Baja! Flavors were amazing, protiens were cooked perfectly, and the tortillas were soft and fresh. Cant wait to go back!

Awesome, great quality seafood + fair prices. This is in the Toys R’ Us parking lot right by the entrance to the 5 North(v. convenient). In the same lot you also have an amazing tortas ahogadas(drowned tortas(drowned in salsa)) that was on some Food Network or Travel Channel show(a.k.a. can get pretty crowded). They have tons of options from seafood burritos and tacos to tostadas, cocteles, ceviches and clamatos. After having amazing seafood cocteles in TJ I was excited to find something similar this side of the border. Although I have found some decent options(that seafood truck in South Park) this is the REALTHING. Cocteles are lots of seafood + a slightly sweet slightly spicy tomato sauce topped with avocado and occasionally some saltine crackers on the side. They have a shrimp one, an octopus one, a shrimp + octopus one and the campechano. Get the shrimp and octopus if you are not a shellfish person but if you are a seafood lover get the campechano! Its cooked shrimp, cooked sliced octopus, pata de mula clams, oysters, some kind of raw or ceviche-ish white fish and plump little scallops. They are so generous with the seafood portions and the medium size($ 10) was both fairly priced and enough for a meal. They are a food truck so the seating is limited but there is a nifty vintage Chevy truck which you can use the truck bed as a makeshift table. Some families brought their own fold up chairs and just set up on the parking lot. And holy grail: THEYTAKECARD. Oh and I liked that they have screens covering their windows so they keep any flies out. The ladies working the truck were super friendly and didn’t mind explaining to me the difference between the clamato and the campechano and what seafood was in the campechano(‘everything’). Will definitely be back.

If you love seafood, you will love this place! I happened to be getting off the freeway(5 South at L Street) and saw this truck parked in the Toys R Us parking lot. I decided to stop in and was really amazed at the size of their menu. For being a food truck, their menu was huge! I decided to order four fish tacos(for my wife and I) and at a little over $ 1 a taco, it was a steal! When I got home, the tacos were crispy and better than anything that Rubio’s makes. And they handed out consommé in a small cup that was nice and warm which was perfect since it was cold outside. Hope to go back there soon. Thanks for the great meal and service!

If you are going to be in Chula Vista, please stop here for some amazing Mexican-style seafood. This place makes me so happy. Seafood tostada piled high with fresh fish, tomatoes, cilantro, onion, lime, and chilies for $ 2.50!!! Large«Siete Mares» soup chocked full of shrimp, octopus, fish, and conch for $ 10!!! Can you say DEAL? Grab your food and eat it standing because this is not a restaurant. It’s a food truck, but after you eat here you are going to be amazed by what they can produce from such a modest setup. I love this place!

I absolutely loved the fish burrito from this food truck. I had them make me the grilled fish burrito or pescado a la plancha, and let me tell me, they not only loaded it with succulent perfectly prepared fish, but wrapped it in a terrific flour tortilla( ). I asked them to put garlic on the fish, and they put just enough garlic to make even more delicious. The fish was firm yet tender and succulent with spot on seasoning. The greens with the white sauce were great and just added to the over all greatness of the burrito( ). The flour tortilla was very good too. It had a great buttery texture and came nice warm. The food truck also makes fantastic fish tacos, seafood cocktails, and ceviches. I am a fan of all those eats, but if you like fish burritos, make sure you put this one on your radar. Friendly service, but expect lines during peek hours…
