Long John Silver’s

The customer service was just like the food: Horrible and Disgusting! I called to inform them that they got my order wrong and they transfer the call to «the manager» when I asked who I’m speaking to the Kid answers «The Manager» oh really smart ass. I’m so disappointed that no one takes pride in their business and the people they hire. Your job is to service people DO YOUR DAMN JOB RIGHT! The food is pre made all you have to do it throw that shit in the fryer and make it look decent. That’s the only thing you have to do and you failed. Never coming here and if anyone is craving this crap your better off buying a microwaveable tv diner it will taste better. #horriblestaff #bubbleguts

White Mariscos! And I love it! Yeah I know «Andy calm down its only Long Johns Silver», but no it ain’t only Long John Silver it’s more then that & it’s hard to find one in SD & I’m happy this one is located in Chula Vista. I’ve been coming here bout 15 years. Yes when you first walk in I won’t lie I feel like I’m a Senior Citizen because that’s all that basically comes here older white people. But it’s ok because I love old people old people rock! The place is never really too busy it’s always really clean & you get friendly customer service & they got a drive thru.
And as for the food, well I love it & so do my kids & wife. We come bout once a month & it always satisfies & hits the spot. The Wifey loves the Hushpuppies & fish planks. The kids love the fries & the little corn on the cob & chicken planks. Yes I said Chicken, they have CHICKEN here & it’s great! It’s one of my favorite things here. I get both chicken & fish planks & always get the Popcorn Shrimp it’s on point! The breaded clams here are also good. I’ve tried the salmon & it’s pretty good the rice with it not so good just get a side of fries you’ll be ok. Yes the prices can be a bit high but I think it’s worth it & better then the other fast food places.
This place is never really busy which I like, except during the Friday’s on Pass Over & on Good Friday. It’s madness here during that time all my Catholic amigos all of a sudden get Long John Silver fever (or they just try to make baby Jesus happy by not eating meat & eating fish instead, it’s a Catholic thing). Other then that I love coming here & the family loves it as well. And we always ring the bell my daughter & me for good service as we walk out! So make sure you ring that bell & order some Popcorn Shrimp to go!

I can’t remember the last time I ate at one of these restaurants. It was around 7pm and the place was empty but an older lady at the counter as I walked up was here. I don’t know what the deal was but it was very clear that the kitchen was preparing a special order for her and she was very happy when she left. Sabrina was the young girl who took my order and brought it to my table where I was sitting. Sabrina was vey nice and great at customer service. The place was very clean and the food came out very fast. Everything was good and very tasty especially the clams, WOW, those where very good. The butter sauce on the shrimp was very succulent but it needed to be more infused with the shrimp but still worked. Very nice experience.

They charge for ketchup packets, anything over 6. I repeat… THEY CHARGE FOR KETCHUP PACKETS. … «I’m gonna have to charge you for anything over 6». No, you dont have to. You just want everyone to be as miserable as possible, no matter how small the instance. It gives you a feeling of power for once in your miserable day, just admit it. Corporate does not keep count of ketchup dispensing and neither do store managers. Come on… you just want to be shitty. Well heres a shitty review for you then.

Food is crap… it just takes me every 12 months to forget, try it again, gag, repeat. And service is as crappy as the food… how this place stays in business I do not know.

One of my favorite places to grab some fried fish and hush puppies for a quick meal. The restaurant is almost always empty it seems, but very clean and quiet which I enjoy. Friendly employees too

This place is awful! Then they served me cold stail fries and returned them. The manager then says, they are not cold, they are room temperature. .yes the manager said that. I then said, I want fresh fries, when they gave me a fresh batch, they were greasy as hell. This place sucks, I will never return.

I love this place! Of course it’s fast food and fried and greasy but what else you expect? Love their fish, chicken, shrimp, and everything else on their menu. Generous portions.

HOW IS THIS PLACE STILL IN BUSINESS ?!
The food is completely disgusting, not enjoyable whatsoever. No wonder there wasn’t anyone in the restaurant. The food is really greasy and chewy. Clam chowder was clumpy and looked like loogies. I get it they don’t have good food, but at least make it presentable and look somewhat edible ! Never coming back here again. If i could give zero stars i would.

Me, my mom & little brother were craving fish the other day so we decided to give long john silver’s a try. All I’ve go to say is that the food is delicious, and very affordable. The restaurant provides a nice, calm environment and the service is very friendly :) !
We’ll definitely be back for more long john silver’s in the future …

Friendly staff, Typical fast food chain. I don’t come here often, but when I make it out to the neighborhood, it’s always a fun stop. I love the hush puppies!

It’s been a long time since I had LJS. I happened to find myself next to this one and I thought… why not. They had no one in the restaurant except me. Just the drive thru was with customers, yet the girls behind the counter took almost 5 minutes to take my order. I waited patiently though. Finally the one that looked like maybe a manager could see my patients wearing thin and took my order. Unfortunately they got my order wrong and so I had to go again and ask for what I wanted. It’s a good thing too. The first piece of fish had a dark spot in it and was VERY fishy… the replacement piece was better. All was very greasy though. I guess I’m good for another 5 years or so.

My daughter & I turned in as we drove down 3^rd Ave.
It was 10 minutes before they closed. Jose & Nidia were friendly & allowed us to dine in even though they were about to close. They didn’t rush us & were accommodating.
We ordered #1 fish & shrimp plate. It was good.

the food was good but the service was bad.
We had a beach day like 2 weeks ago. When we left we stopped by here for a quick bite. We went through the drive thru because my kids were knocked out.
I asked for a large soda and the lady said only medium or small. I asked if they didnt carry large, she said she didnt know. When we got to the window she handed us two medium sodas. It was a hot day and we came from the beach so we were thirsty. After drinking our sodas the cups were still like 90% full of ice.
We finished before getting too to the end of the block. So i turned around to get more soda. I walked in with our two sodas and talked to the same lady. I told her that we had way too much ice. I showed her that our cups were still full even though the soda was gone and she cut me off. She said «next time ask for easy ice» I responded «how about i just ask for normal ice?» I also asked for ketchup and she said she didnt have any. i asked if they dont carry ketchup or were they just out. She again responded that she didnt know. Her name tag said «Manager»

Dont waste your time here. I havent eaten here in 5 years, and its not what I remembered it being. Sorry guys but this place sucks.

Oh My COD. Food was yum. I only visit when cashier Peter is there because of his friendly and accurate service :) going back tonight!

I have no idea how this chain stays in business.
The food is super greasy.
The fries are horrible.
The fish quality is not bad for a chain but the pieces are so small.
Those that remember Arthur Treacher’s will remember that chain as being far superior.
You can make your own seafood a whole lot better and healthier than this joint.
Bad, bad, bad bad.
Maybe once a decade is ok but that is about it.

This is gonna be short and sweet…
I ordered a Cajun Fish Meal for my son through the Drive-​Thru.
Nothing personal, but when a cashier asks, «Would you like a Soda with that order» like a million times, it kinda turns me off and makes me want to go somewhere else. I know they have a policy to ask this question, but after already telling them «No» a million times over, you would think they would get the clue.
That being said, the order took 15 minutes to get to my car. I can totally understand if there were a lot of cars in the carport, but the problem was… my car was the only one there. They really need to step it up.
I normally don’t give 2 Stars to anyone, but annoying questions and the long wait played so much into the factor of this rating. In my own opinion, if Long John Silver’s is gonna want a repeat of business from me, then they need to address this issue.

What can say about a place that you know serves food that is really bad for you… it’s great!
I grew up in the Midwest where as a kid when you thought of seafood you thought of Long John’s. So over the years I return to get some of the great greasy fried shrimp and hush puppies to remind myself of my roots.
The food hasn’t changed in 20 years but it seems the customer service has. This place was incredibly slow, saw one older gentlemen sit for almost 20 mins waiting on his 8 piece. Eventually the girl behind the counter asked him if he was waiting on anything, only to realize that they had never dropped his order.
The restaurant wasn’t that clean and the back area was roped off and littered with boxes and equipment.
I know that I will return here eventually since it’s about the only Long John’s in the San Diego area. Hopefully I’ll have a better experience on my next trip.

Lets forget the fact that most menu items are not the most healthy food in the world. That’s not why I came here, I hadn’t eaten here a decade and we were looking for comfort food…
My G/​F and I had stopped in a few times and missed out because they closed at 9:00PM which is understandable in this neck of the woods.
I decided to hit the drive through and see if they could mess things up as you would typically expect. I came through with a pretty big order and made it a point to try the desserts. When paying, I noticed the guy at the window had the word CHAMPS on their name tags. When I asked about it, he explained that it stands for «Courtesy, Hospitality, Accuracy, Maintenance, Product, Speed» which I thought was cool.
They did not miss a beat. Every item down to the condiments were packed up perfectly and the food was even nicer. The lobster bites were delicious and pies we had for dessert were impressive for a drive through. The fries were the only disappointment, a bit soggy, which was surprising considering all that other rich, crispy, battered deliciousness they are served up with.
I think I just found my new guilty pleasure.
…or maybe I can try their grilled fish and a smoothie and worry at all!
No, I would have to at least get some hush puppies.
