I don’t frequent Rubio’s often because their food is just average. It is Mexican fast food if you ask me. I just came here to claim my free meal for my birthday. I decided to get a chicken grilled burrito. It came with tortilla chips on the side. There was a salsa bar near the drink station. All I paid for was the fountain drink which isn’t too bad. It was $ 2.00 and some change. The lady at the register gave me my drink cup along with a number. We sat at a table while we waited for my food. Food came out quickly. The burrito seemed small for what you normally would pay. I managed to share my food with my daughter. It was just okay. The tortilla chips did not taste fresh but was edible. For the drink, I went with fruit punch so I can share it with my daughter. There are plenty of tables and free drink refills if you dine in. This place is just okay.

I give this place five stars because of their fish tacos! My uncle took me here for the first time and I can’t get enough of it the fish is nice and big! How it should be! I should not be able to close the taco! These are the best fish tacos I have had!

This is where I go to eat for fun. The other places I eat at are for volume. The foods ok but I don’t expect the best food at buffets. I feel like the King of England eating here. The food taste a lot better then Home Town Buffet I mainly go here on Tuesdays though $ 1.50 fish tacos. I wanted to eat 10 today. I only ate 7.5 I feel like an anorexic hipster. Next Tuesday I’ll try for 10!

When my husband and I were in high school and students at SDSU, Rubio’s was our go-to place for fish or shrimp tacos. Before yesterday, it was a long time since the last time we went. I’m very happy to see that, besides the décor, not a lot has changed in the franchise. I usually get the original fish taco plate, but I wanted to try something new so I ordered the coastal trio(original fried fish, grilled shrimp, blackened tilapia). Everything was delicious, I definitely found a new favorite! This particular Rubio’s was clean and the staff continually walked the floor to make sure that tables were cleared and any spills were mopped. The customer service was excellent. Salsa bar was stocked. Couldn’t ask for better. Wait, yes I can. Please bring back the the Zango!!! I miss that cinnamon cheese bread-y goodness!

Always love Rubio’s. I stopped by this location, new to me, and it was very clean. I came in on a Saturday night and it was empty inside. The cashier was very friendly and cheerful. I ordered the California bowl and it was delicious. The only downside, I wish there was more lettuce. I would order it again, but ask for extra lettuce. I think there was less than a handful of lettuce in my bowl and a whole lot of rice. My bowl was served with two fillets of tilapia! Perfect amount, well cooked, and very tasty. Add some extra salsa and some lime juice for some extra flavor!

I really have to say Rubio’s I spent too much money on how they look but not enough on their quality of food specially when it comes to avocado you get a smidgen of it. You want real Fish taco you can Go to the Mexican lunch trucks for half the price get more and real avocado two minutes away from this location.

I work in the area sometimes and stop by this Rubio’s location when I am in the mood for delicious and healthy Mexican food. I typically get the grilled Veggie Burrito and it is very tasty. And of course the salsas at the salsa bar are very flavorful. The location is respectable clean and the service is appropriately fast. This is not drive-thru food so be patient.

When I am in the mood for a non-battered fish burrito, Rubio’s is one of the places I stop by for one. This time around I ordered the Regal Springs Tilapia Burrito with a side of black beans and tortilla chips. The burrito was well prepared and tightly wrapped, pre-sliced, and with a good amount of black beans and chips( ). The tilapia was well seasoned and moist and succulent. The guacamole was good, but I thought the burrito needed more of it( ). The fire roasted corn wad good and the burrito went very well with their fire roasted peppers salsa( ). The black beans were nice. The were cooked to a nice tenderness and had good flavor. I liked the sprinkling of white cheese on top, although for me, some Cotija cheese would of been bliss( ). The tortilla chips were fine. Service was good at the counter. The shift manger was on it. She was making sure orders were getting complete in a timely manner and she was delivering food to tables.
