I love Penn Station and this is the best one in the area. I live downtown, between the locations surrounding me in Newport, Downtown(Not including in the ballpark), and Clifton, the best thing to do is to just drive to this one. This location consistently makes the best food. It’s also clean and doesn’t make me feel like I’m going to get hepatitis if I sit down and eat there. Which I can not say from the three other locations I named. Penn Station is the best for hot subs/sandwiches out of all the sub/sandwich places. Everything they have is great but I’m a creature of habit and I love Philly Cheese Steaks. They have the best Philly Cheese Steak. I’ve been to Philly, had Pat’s King Of The Cheese Steaks, and I still like Penn Stations better. Haha. I also think out of all the sub places Penn Station has the best prices for the quantity and quality of food you get. They also have a monthly meal deal(Specific Sandwich, Fries & Drink) and it’s always posted on the menu board, so make sure you check that out. Also, Don’t forget your lemonade. It is SO delicious.

If I could give this place a zero I would. The service sucked. No one in the place 5 people working and I can’t even get the fries I ordered. One going for a smoke break. One on the phone. Two at the grill. And one at the register. I love penn station but I won’t be back to this place. They seemed stunned when I left without the fries. Keep the $ 1.89.

every time we go to this location the quality is lacking and cleanliness. We stop going to this location and drive an extra 10 minutes to the red bank location

I went here and ordered a medium cheese steak with mayo on it. I got home and it had mustard on it and was absolutely disgusting and inedible. Called in and the lady who answered the phone said she put my name down for a credit. I went in today and guess what… she never put my name down. On top of that, the owner was very rude. So, in closing, the person who took my order was horrible at his job and didn’t take my order down correctly or repeat it. The manager at the time didn’t write my credit down in their poorly organized log and the owner pretty much laughed off the whole ordeal and basically told me to go screw myself. Well, here ya go, buddy. Was it worth it? It won’t end here ;)

Always great food. I just wish they didn’t touch the meat and veggies with their hands. I guess the hit oven will kill any germs lol.

I visit this Penn Station quite frequently. Very good quality service and food. I always get the chicken cordon blue. Fries are delicious, fresh, crispy. Fresh squeezed lemonade. I crave it all the time!

I love Penn Station, but seriously, this is the slowest moving, rudest bunch of staff I’ve ever met in a fast food place(and there was really nothing fast about it). The minute I walked in the door, one older guy behind the counter gave a friendly, direct greeting… followed by an up and down oogling of me. Thanks, but NO thanks! There was one other lady in line ahead of me already ordering. The lady asked for a cup for water and the cashier VERY rudely told her«Make sure it’s water ONLY.» The lady ordering appeared to be Asian and I can only HOPE that was NOT the reason for this awful interaction. When I began to order, the cashier interrupted me and said«so you want the special?» I looked around quickly to see if I had missed something and had to ask what that even meant(definitely NO signs about a «special»). While I was waiting(more than 10 minutes) for my food, one of the other staff made a comment about pulled pork. The cashier(such a bundle of sunshine, right?) took it upon herself to make sure the WHOLE store knew that she though the guy was a complete idiot for calling something«pulled pork,» a phrase she had never heard before. She even asked all of the customers waiting if they knew what pulled pork was. Fortunately, everyone nodded in agreement with the poor guy that yes, pulled pork is a real thing. All in all, when I FINALLY got home with my food, it was made perfectly and was delicious, but the people working in that store(particularly that awful dark haired cashier!) were by far the most unprofessional I have encountered in some time.

I Iike Penn Station… It’s basic man food. I usually get the 8″ steak & cheese Philly sandwich, prepared exactly how I want it and a small fry. Their other sandwiches are good as well and if you watch their specials you might score one as a combo meal at a good price. A for drinks, they have good iced tea — which for me is important.

I love Penn Station and I’m glad that there is a location near my new place. I’m a huge fan of their chicken parmesan and chicken teriyaki subs. Also their fries are very good, make sure you get some malt vinegar on them.

This is one of those places that has food that I absolutely crave sometimes. The kind of craving that will make me drop what I’m doing and have to go get some. Their vegetarian sub with teriyaki is just plain mouth-watering! The best part is that w/o cheese, that baby is vegan. Pair that with some fresh cut fries and that is one awesome meal! Maybe not the healthiest, but hey, we all like to indulge sometimes :) The prices are more expensive than Subway, but the quality of food is better here. I’d put them about on par with Panera prices.

Being vegan and eating out isn’t the easiest thing in the world, but Penn Station helps a bit. I would ram a school bus full of children off of the road just to get a sniff of their fries, and the grilled veggie sub is pretty murder worthy also. The staff is also really nice, and you get your food quickly. The only downside would be the price(if you’re comparing it to somewhere like Subway), but it’s a pretty quality sandwich.

Forget about going to Philadelphia to get a cheesesteak because the ones at Penn Station exceed anything that they make there. The bread is the best and the cheesesteaks are always hot off the grill. The fries are great but I found a small fry is more than plenty for one person. The service is normally good but I will warn you — the service at the Hyde Park one seems to be a bit slow compared to others.

In my book, Penn Station is the most undeservedly overlooked Cincinnati junk-food restaurant chain, at least in the popular imagination. Locals constantly talk up Skyline and LaRosa’s(I really like the former and think the latter is a joke), but you almost never hear them sing the praises of Penn Station. Why not? Is it because Penn Station flaunts its«East Coast”/Philly-style sandwich concept, effectively importing outside cultural influences into Cincinnati rather than exporting uniquely Cincinnati fare? Academic discussions aside, Penn Station’s subs can be quite the guilty treat, at least every now and then. I won’t even begin to suggest that its griddled sub products are authentically«East Coast» or that its cheesesteaks even remotely approximate what you’d get in Philly, because I wouldn’t know. But Penn Station’s chicken parmesan, cheesesteak, and chicken teriyaki sandwiches, among others, are gloriously sloppy, junky, good eating on their own terms.(Not everything works – for instance, the reuben is a misfire and Italian sausage is pretty spice-less.) The bread, when toasted properly, is far better than the chain-sandwich average. Fresh-cut fries are terrific, too. After living in New Orleans for more than a decade, we avidly embraced Penn Station on moving here. New Orleans is an excellent dining town, but if you wanted a decent artery-clogging sandwich other than a po-boy, you were going to be looking far and wide, and looking some more. Here in Cincy, look no further than Penn Station. P. S. I think this location is better than a couple of others we’ve tried. Those other stores have undertoasted the bread, leaving the sandwiches doughier and blander. P. P. S. I’m surprised at Matt. T’s troubles with the staff at this location. When we go, it’s usually at lunchtime on a weekend, and staff has always been competent and friendly enough. Maybe the weekday and night crews are worse.

I like Penn Station. As far as fast food goes, you could eat alot worse. And it’s a cheesesteak. Which seems to be really hard to find a good one here in Cincinnati. So that is why I go to Penn Station. Plus their fries are really good. But this is chain. I have been to many different ones in Cincinnati, and they are all the same. Which is good for a chain. So why the two stars for this one? Because I really hate dealing with the people who work here. Everytime I go in, it is just a mess. Employees are just lounging around. You have to wait to order, even when empty. And I seem to always get the«and what the hell do you want look» from the cashier. And how many employees does it take to make one sandwich? Last time I was there, it took seven! And only two actually did anything near cooking. The other five just passed it along. As if my sandwich was part of a game of telephone. And the manager. Geez, dude relax. He always seems to be rushing. He is also the only working. And rushes you. EVENWHENTHEPLACEISEMPTY. And I understand this in in prime drunk terrority. But I have only gone at two in the afternoon(I am a late luncher). And I felt like I was disturbing them. It is shame this is the closest one to me. But then again, I shouldn’t be eating this stuff that much anyway.

I have to admit that I have never gotten the cheesesteak here. I have gotten some east coast subs though. My wife is from Cincinnati and every time we go there, we have to stop at Penn Station. I have gotten an upset Stomach everytime here. On the most recent trip I got the Italian. It tasted great going down, but its not worth the agony later. I had no appetite for dinner. I am sure on our next trip to the QC we will go to Penn Station again, I will have to try the Cheesesteak then. As far as the previous review about not going to a chain for Cheesesteaks… Penn Station is a chain that has locations throughout Southwestern Ohio and Indianapolis.

Man, I love a GOOD cheesesteak. That being said I’ve been spoiled and soured at the same time, because everytime I order a steak and cheese I have that little voice in my head scrutinizing first the appearance and then that dreaded first bite. This is the reason I will never order a cheese steak in a chain restaurant or bar. And when I say chain I mean like Chili’s, Friday’s, those kinda places. Ugh. utter crap. Enough of that diatribe. I couldn’t believe it when I stumbled upon this place while holdin’ it down out in Cin-city. The hook to the place is their East Coast subs. My two cents to the owners — there are plenty BAD cheese steak places on the East Coast and even the famed Pat and Geno’s is not ALL that. You do your establishment a disservice as it clearly is strong enough to stand on it’s own for being a delicious mouth watering flavorful example of what a cheesesteak should be. Sooooo tasty. The menu is relatively simple but they have something for everyone even vegetarians of course I don’t know how a vegetarian would even stumble upon this place as it is clearly for the meat lover’s but if that is you — If the Grilled Vegetarian is half as good as the cheesesteak you will be a fan.
