I ordered the hwe dub bap and the spicy salmon roll for pickup so this review only applies to the food. Overall, the quality of the food is good, though the hwe dub bap was a little small and lacked seaweed and garlic. The spicy salmon roll was made on-​the-​spot and very unique and good. I enjoyed the food and the friendly service. Will come again.

All the way down the Closter Dock is a wonderful small quiet sushi place. The fish is fresh. The rolls are tasty. The chef and (I assume) wife team are so warm and friendly. Their hospitality makes the food so much more delicious. It is bob which is nice. For pick up give them about 50 minutes.

Since we just moved to the city and I had no idea where to get decent sushi I used Unilocal to guide me :). We happened to be on Closter dock road and I saw all five stars reviews so I was sure we can’t go wrong. We ordered take away, it took about fiveteen minutes and took it home to be very surprised with this delicious sushi at a very reasonable price. The couple that run this place are very kind and warm people. Ordered twice again since and never failed. Try the spicy tuna roll it is fabulous. Highly recommend!!! You got my 5 starts.

Hwe Sarang Sushi (I love sushi) is a very cute, intimate setting in very cute town. The sushi is delicious and fresh off the boat, and the service is excellent. Sorry this review is so negative, i tried to find something good about this joint.

Really fresh, carefully made, kindly served, and tasty sushi. Small and quiet clean place, a place you can enjoy a quick sushi run with a friend or two. Would definitely go back.

Awesome sushi and amazing service.
They are especially considerate of my son who suffers from severe allergies. They make cucumber rolls for him after cleaning the surface and knife.

It was OK, nothing special. We saw that it was 5 stars and were expecting fantastic. It was pretty small in there too, and a couple of drunk men were getting pretty loud with their laughing and talking.

Have gone multiple times both for dinner and lunch. The lunch special is unbeatable for the price. Always pleased with my meal and leave feeling full. The people who run this restaurant should also be mentioned because they are two of the nicest people I’ve ever met. Don’t miss out on this place.

Hwe Sarang (which according to my crappy korean translation means «sushi love») is a gem, a diamond in the rough. I ordered from here because I can’t stand some of the other sushi joints in the Norwood/​Northvale area. I’m not a «real» sushi eater, eg, I won’t eat stuff that’s still moving or breathing, but I do appreciate a good roll. I judge a sushi joint by its spicy tuna roll. This place does a darn good spicy tuna. The other stuff we ordered was also excellent (California, Eel & Avocado, Alaskan). Prices very reasonable, even more so if you get the lunch menu. This will be my new go-​to place in the Northern Valley, without question. Highly, highly recommend.

Just started working nj the area and needed to find a sushi place near by for lunch and thankfully this place was not only 2 blocks from work but is also DELICIOUS!
Friendly, clean, fresh, all the things you’d look for in a good sushi place.
They have really creative rolls too, nice to see some verity from the typical stuff.
