BEST sushi I have ever had. Ive gone to other sushi restaurants and still nothing compares to Asahi. The staff is friendly and there is never a long wait for the food. Their rolls are always fresh and a very good size. Whenever my friends and I decide to go out we always go to Asahi. Whenever a friend asks to sushi suggestions it’s always Asahi. LOVETHEM.

The sushi was good and fresh, the chicken teriyaki wasn’t so great and even the brown rice was lacking. I saw a lot of 4 star reviews so I was hoping for a little better. Prices were fair.

This is one of those spots I almost DON’T want to review because it’s so good but I will since I’m so awesome. This place has THE coolest seating. Shoes off! And you sit with your feet below like traditional Japanese style that offers privacy and seating for 5 – 6 ppl. Sushi is dope. 11⁄10. It is BYOB. They have a special: 3 rolls fo’ $ 15. My personal recommendations: Miso Soup, Green Salad(quality hoe-made ginger dressing), Spicy Cali Roll. Great service. Relaxing warm ambience. Mr. Won also gives it 2 thumbs up.

The food here is good, but sometimes the taste differs and does not have a fresh taste. The service was nice for a few days as I came here for lunch intil one day I did not leave a tip and the waitress chased me outside the restaurant forcing me to tip her and accused me of never tipping when I am sure I tipped before. Definitely not going back after being forced to tip.

Nice environment, fresh food, and a friendly staff. Very welcoming neighborhood feel. I have eaten here many times and they are very consistent. Though not run by Japanese, they do a wonderful job. They also serve Korean dishes as well. This is a casual restaurant, with lots of room in side for families, friends, or couples for lunch or dinner. If you work in the area it’s great for lunch since they are pretty quick compared to other places in the area. Very reasonable for Japanese food. Highly recommend

Love this place. Staff is friendly. I’m a huge fan of their diet roll and gyozas. The rolls are large so you will get what you pay for. Take out is quick and easy and there usually isn’t a wait to be seated. Byob also a plus. Been coming here for years never a bad experience.

Some of the very best sushi in the area. Fish is so fresh, the rice is perfect. And the inside of the restaurant is very authentic. The service is on point. Ive ordered out from here and also eaten inside the restaurant and the service is excellent no matter which one you do. I would highly reccomend!

Great Sushi and friendly staff. The portions are huge. My husband and I ordered two specialty rolls each and we could have shared three. The Mexican roll and Rock Roll were excellent. The service is great and the atmosphere is nice for date night.

Tried based on all the great reviews. Maybe we ordered wrong but we had a few special rolls which all could’ve potentially been good but had WAY too much sauce, also had the Asahi sushi deluxe which was okay. On a positive note they give a lot of food!

Food was okay, service was terrible! They paid no attention to us at all. Took forever for our food and waters to come out and they didn’t bring out my friends drink. Not impressed at all.

I will have to give this place another try considering there are so many high star reviews and the fact that I went in 40 minutes before close. I mean what kind of sushi do you expect that late at night when the place is closing. Until then you get an average 3 stars.

Def way better than wild wasabi which is located right next to each other. Both service&food wise. Great taste that has been bringing me back to this place everytime I am looking forward to eat sushi. Very unique house special rolls& love their enthusiastic attitudes! I would recommend this place!

I frequented this place for almost two years, great food. However, today I brought a friend for lunch and the avocado in the sushi roll was rotting and did not taste right. When I brought it to the servers attention she was extremely rude and defensive. A simple I will let the Chef know would have been enough, instead she said if you don’t like it don’t come back, I told her not to worry I won’t, neither will all my friends I recommended the place to.

Great atmosphere. Not too crowded. Their donkatsu is pretty oily but their sushi is great! Recommend their 3 rolls for $ 13.95. Chicken tempura, spicy salmon, and eel are tasty.

Really good sushi. The chicken tempura roll is the perfect choice for anyone who’s a bit skeptical about eating raw fish(kids or picky eaters). They always cut a hole in the top of the containers to make sure that the contents don’t get soggy. Usually when I pick up dumplings, they’re already soggy by the time I get home. Not with Asahi sushi. I would definitely recommend this place.

Delicious sushi! The steamed vegetable gyoza are light & flavorful, and the miso soup is silky. As for maki, I cannot get enough of the dream roll, although sometimes it’s a little heavy on the Panko. Bento boxes are great for lunch. Can’t go wrong!

I am beyond a regular at this place. The fish is always very fresh. I highly recommend the volcano roll, dream roll although I can really say EVERYTHING is good. The restaurant is a byob which many people take advantage of. The service is always above and beyond and the staff treats you with respect. You can tell each member of the family run business truly appreciates your business. This place is a hidden gem and is worth a visit… Or ten visits

I have been coming to this place for a few years now. It’s completely out of the way from where I live — but totally worth it. There are so many sushi places in Bergen County but this one stands out to me for the following reasons: 1. I like the ambiance. It’s never crowded and when it’s just me and my husband, they will let us sit in the huge traditional booths where you take your shoes off, which I love. These seats can fit 6 – 8 people but they never tell us no just because it’s two of us. 2. The tuna is always extremely fresh and their rolls are plentiful. They never skimp on fish content and I am obsessed with the asahi roll. It is one roll that serves as an entire meal. It’s huge. It has shrimp tempura, tuna, tobiko, cucumber, avocado… makes me salivate just thinking about it. I also love the avocado & crab salad. 3. It’s a family run business and they are so sweet. Great customer service — you never have to wait more than a few minutes for your food and they always act appreciative that you chose their restaurant to eat at. Besides all that, the place is clean and I’ve never had anything bad off the menu. Love this place!
