WORSTCUSTOMERSERVICEEVER I would give them negative stars if I could. As far as cleaning goes they did a good job. However, upon inspection of my shirt I noticed a dime sized hole in the left sleeve. I am 110% sure it was not there when I dropped it off. Normally I probably wouldn’t have been too upset but this was a VERY expensive shirt. I brought it back immediately and the woman behind the counter simply said it was IMPOSSIBLE that they could have put a hole in my shirt. She was very defensive and kept insisting that it HADTO have been there before. Apparently Jesus does the dry cleaning and every single piece of clothing they churn out is immaculate. After telling her I want my shirt fixed not just patched up she finally agreed to take it back and said she would have it ready in a couple of days. I’ll add that she was very rude about the whole thing. A couple of days later I come back and my shirt had not moved. I asked her how much longer and she said give me 15 minutes and it will be done. She just stitched over the hole with some thread that didn’t even match the color or pattern of the shirt. I told her this wasn’t what I wanted, and once again was offended that I would like my shirt to be properly fixed. It’s been over a month so I don’t remember exactly how but eventually I spoke with the owner in person(probably on one of the dozen or so stops I made there to see if anything had been done) and explained to him that I was absolutely positive that there wasn’t a hole in it when I dropped it off and he said he would take care of it. He was very nice, but did not follow through on his word. The phrase«give me a day or two» came out of his mouth multiple times. I have called and stopped by the store multiple times and I can never get a hold of anybody that can help me. It’ gotten to the point that it’s not worth my time to try to get them to do anything about it. The shirt has still not been fixed and now I have to pay $ 120 dollars out of pocket to have it re-sleeved. TL;DR: Put a hole in a $ 300 shirt and won’t fix it. This place sucks. Don’t give them your business.

I have to say that I am very very disappointed with this place. My review is just going to be for tailoring, I did have something cleaned but it was just cleaned and pressed in addition to tailoring and it wasn’t dirty so I cant comment on the quality of cleaning done here. I brought in a Canali suit, fully canvassed, super 120s, hand made in Italy. I got it at a good price and needed it altered. In particular I needed the pants taken in, the cuffs removed and the jacket taken in at the back and the sleeved shortened. Although the lady here is quite pleasant to deal with, the quality of work is very substandard. We discussed all the work to be done and I was quoted a price of just over $ 120, I was told that I could have a $ 10 discount if I paid in cash, but I didn’t have the cash on me so I didn’t receive the discount. On the initial she took what appeared to be the correct measurements, and then told me it would take a week to get the suit back. I thought a week was a bit excessive but I didnt say anything because I got the(mistaken) impression that she would do a good job. Boy was I wrong. When I returned a week later, I was very upset with what I recieved. The pants turned out alright, I cannot complain on that regard. However the work on the Jacket was very shoddy. For taking it in on the back she worked with the center seam instead of the two side seams. Anyone knows that this is not the way to do it because you cant iron it properly after that, and it results in excess material in the center which can be unsightly. Unfortunately I didnt notice this until I took it home. What I did notice while there was the sleeves, although she had adjusted the sleeves to the proper length she had done it completely wrong. The jacket originally had surgeons cuffs meaning that the sleeve buttons were functional, what she returned to me not only have non functional buttons but all the tailoring was done incorrectly. Instead of taking in the cuffs properly she just removed the buttons and folded the sleeved inward. Resulting in a non functional cuff and one which looked obviously wrong. Furthermore, to put the buttons back on she just sowed right through all the way to the inner lining, meaning that the button threads can be seen when the sleeve is rolled back, this is an absurd level of shortcut taking. I was absolutely shocked and asked for her to redo it. She just plain refused. I had to have the sleeved completely rebuilt at another tailor. She ruined a $ 1500 suit. She also ruined her reputation as far as I am concerned. Please do not take your business here. If you do, please tell her exactly how you want it done. Unfortunately I learned the hard way by assuming that she would do a good job and not take the easy way out. Absolutely Horrible…

I agree with what the other reviewers have said. Charges students almost triple the going rate. Is super shady about the quote– aka does not quote even if you ask multiple times. Just asks for your card and swipes. Totally takes advantage of the fact that most students have never gone to a dry cleaner’s in their lives. Mediocre customer service, takes 2 days longer than quoted time. Guaranteed that she would get a stain out of my wool coat. Did not happen. Overall, shady business that is overpriced. You’ll pay for the convenience.

The most rude and irritating woman I’ve dealt with. Firstly– I called ahead of time and tried to get a quote on my dress that I need hemmed. I explained it in detail and she told me to come in. I said okay because I understood she would want to know what she’s working with. I walk in, say hello, show her the dress and ask how much it will cost to hem it two inches. She completely ignores my questions and scurries me into a bathroom to try it on. Just to appease her and get the process moving, I tried on my dress. She pinned it and again I asked. I would like a quote on this job.(Since I never told her she was hired). She ignores me AGAIN and tells me to take off the dress and walks away. After I am dressed I find her at the front desk and again ask her how much she thinks it will be. Because like I said before. I wanted a quote. There are a ton of alteration places that said 25 – 35 dollars but I chose this place because it was close. She looked at my dress again, punched some numbers into the cash register and said 75 dollars. I politely said thank you for your time, that’s more than I would like to spend. I told her there was a lady a town over who could do it for 35, I just wanted a quote from her because she lives close by and I like helping local businesses. She takes my dress from me and starts showing me the fabric like I’m an idiot. She looks me right in the eye and said«lady is going to do this dress for 35? I don’t believe it. That’s not true». Obviously I was offended because she pretty much called me a liar. So I again nicely said, well thank you for your time. She drops the price to 55 and by now I don’t even want to support her business. She starts showing me the fabric again like I hadn’t seen my dress before. Again I say thank you anyways and half way out the door she yells«you do what you have to. You’ll be coming back here.» How rude? Not only did she waste my time, she ordered me around ignoring my ONE question and then insulted me. This woman should stick to cleaning clothes. I will never go back to her for any service.

If you don’t specifically ask about the prices, this woman will just take your card and straight-up rob you — charging many times the going rate for dry cleaning. You’ll pay significantly less for dry-cleaning in downtown Manhattan, it’s that expensive. What’s more, their sign says in by 10 out by 4, but that’s total bullsh*t. It’s more like in by 10, out by sometime in the next 3 days. Steer clear my friends.

Family owned dry-cleaner that goes above and beyond for their customers. Lora is very detailed in her work whether it be spot removal, shoe repair, hemming, sewing, etc. I take my best garments here and always trust that they’ll come back better than I had left them. If you are someone like me who is hesitant to trust a dry-cleaner, this is definitely the place to visit!

Everything I’ve had laundered or dry cleaned here has come back on time and looking good. Since not many folks come in, and she only runs the machine when she has full loads, I don’t think they do the«in by 9 out by 5,» stuff, but everything is usually ready within a day or two. I’d give the place a 5, but it’s kind of pricey. Located within spitting distance of the frats row and sororities, I’m sure she hikes up the margin for kids who don’t ask about the prices, but if you ask nicely and talk to her she will give you a better rate. Support a local business and come here instead of Zipps!
