I resided in Tuolumne County for over 10 years, now I’m in Marin, and became a fan of The Bistro when it opened a few years ago. The hours are a bit of a pain but the food, ah, the food.
There have been times when five stars seemed a stretch but they have been few and the meals are always excellent if not superb. The value is a real treat, the cuisine… as good as it gets in Tuolumne County — honest.

The Cellar Bistro is part of Columbia College’s Culinary Program. On Tuesday and Wednesday the students at the college’s exceptional culinary program offer a four course dinner. The menu is limited to two choices for the starter and main courses with a salad and the dessert du jour.
The Cellar Bistro is in the ground level of the Manzanita Building and reservations are recommended as the dinners are popular. Hours are from 5 to 7. Proceeds help to support the culinary program and the students receive valuable experience.
After your meal you can enjoy a walk around the little lake.
