I had gone to Aniara when I lived in Columbus and I was sad to leave it behind when I moved. With Allison I got something I have rarely gotten from other stylists: consistency. She always cut my hair the way I wanted and cut it the same way every time; to me that is well worth the price(about $ 40-$ 50). She is one of the best stylists I have ever had! The place is clean and relaxed and it’s easy to find a parking spot on the street too. Definitely recommend it!

«Your hair looks great!» It is an established fact that if you want me to stop arguing with you, the above four lines are the fastest way to an amicable finish. I love my hair and I am very picky about where I will go to get it cut and colored. In fact, when I first moved to Columbus I would drive 2.5 hours back to Toledo just to have my favorite stylist do my hair. While being picky, I am also not frivolous with my spending. I find paying over $ 50 for just a cut ridiculous. I am also wary of the larger, expensive salons in town where all of the stylists have to use fake names.(Yes, this really does happen, strange as it sounds.) I’ve been going to Aniara for awhile now and I could not be happier. Allison is my stylist and she is great. My hair always turns out fantastic, the color is perfect and the style is re-creatable at home. She uses mostly organic hair products like MOP which I really love. The salon itself is easy to find at the corner of Third and Michigan. I have never had a problem finding street parking, although I am thankful for my tiny car because parallel parking is not my favorite thing. They generally do not have a receptionist so do not be surprised if you have to leave a voice-mail to schedule an appointment. They will get back to you quickly. I would definitely recommend Aniara if you are looking for a cool, independent salon that is high on style without busting your budget.
