Description Of Work: 210″ Solatubes in the kitchen 110″ Solatube in the main bathroom 110″ Solatube in the master bathroom Comments: From the moment we met Todd, to attending the open house at Capital City Daylighting, to the day Ron and Todd came out to install the Solatubes, they have never disappointed! Our job was booked for 03⁄29 and wouldn’t you know it, mother nature was planning to snow that day. Todd was right on the ball, and emailed me a couple days before and asked if we could push it to 03⁄30 — not a problem! I was impressed he was sure to check in and inform us of the change with notice, rather than just not showing or calling the morning of. The morning of 03⁄30 we were scheduled for 9 – 930, but it was still rather cold that morning. Ron called before he was to arrive to let us know he was going to arrive at 10 to let the snow melt some more. Again, they kept us informed of where they were and what we could expect instead of just showing up late. That is a show of great courtesy! Ron arrived on time, and we talked through the options for the kitchen. He was very knowledgeable and honest — we like that in a contractor. When he ran into a problem, he quickly informed us of it, and we talked through the options, again with his expertise and advice we were able to come to a solution quickly.(The problems were the location of our rafters and a decorative gable on our vaulted ceiling in the kitchen — not such a problem for them though!) It took them approximately 5 hours to install the 4 tubes, and we could hardly tell they were here. They were clean with their preparations, during the work, and cleaned up after themselves. The only reason we know they were here is because where the tubes are installed, it is now flooded with natural light. I keep thinking the lights are left on! The kitchen was always so dark and I disliked going in that room for anything, but Ron and Todd have breathed new life into that area of the house. When I first saw the results it brought tears to my eyes, because I’ve lived with a space I disliked for so long. I can honestly say I like my kitchen space more now then I ever did and I don’t dread walking that direction anymore. The bathrooms are so bright, and the light pours out into the hallway and into our bedroom. We lose power alot in the summer, but no more flashlights to shower, because they are no longer caves! We can’t show our gratitude to Todd and Ron, and the whole gang over at Capital City Daylighting enough. If we do nothing else ever to our house, what Ron and Todd did is more than worth the money. They are professional, personable, friendly, easy going, and honest. They treat you and your home with respect, and that makes them better than great! I wish they did general contracting! Our next project with them is installing the attic fan, a tube in the closet with LED’s, adding a fan to one of the lights, installing a tube in the basement stairwell, and 2 lights in the office space. We can’t wait!
