The service was excellent! Our server Ashley was super attentive and made sure we had everything we needed. Even with the less than enjoyable food, the service made up for it. We ordered the blood orange margarita which was delicious. Unfortunately, I can’t say the same for the mahi-mahi tacos. At $ 14 dollars a plate for two tacos with beans and rice I was expecting a more flavorful and creative dish. The flavor of the fish was very plain and the toppings were disappointing. The toppings consisted of low quality shredded cheese, iceberg lettuce, and tomatoes. I would compare them to the quality and flavor of Taco Bell toppings. The rice was overcooked and very hard, it also lacked in flavor. The best part was the beans, they’re served in a soup-like consistency with a little bit of kick from the spices. We ordered two of the same dish so I can’t compare to other times on the menu, but I was not overly impressed by the options listed. You can tell the entrees are very Americanized i.e. mac n’ cheese is an option at this«authentic» Mexican restaurant. I would not return to or recommend this restaurant.

On a co-worker’s recommendation we tried Chile Verde tonight. The place was crammed packed at 7 p.m. with a crowd waiting indoors and out. Once seated we were served quickly and the food was outstanding. We chose the Navajo Taco, an open faced taco served on navajo-style bread, and the chicken/steak Santa Fe. Both dishes were delicious. The meats were tender and very well seasoned. The New Mexican rice has a very nice blend of spices and a chipotle-smoked flavor that sets it apart from run of the mill Mexican-style rice. Both dishes were large enough to share and to take home. Recommend.

What a great find. Food was great, and portions was good also. The price wasn’t bad either, we will be back.

We had lunch and it was enjoyable. Sadly the rice was very overcooked and under seasoned so didn’t really eat it. I had the chimichanga carne and it was rather tasty. Although a bit heavy on the tortilla the shredded beef was excellent. Great flavor and the ancho chile demi glaze was to die for!!! A deep rich flavor that complimented the beef wonderfully. It was so good I think it should be served almost as an au jus to dip in. The salsa had a very nice heat to it. Overall it wasn’t bad but there are many other options available.

I rated this place high last visit but this time no so much. I always get the BarBQue Burrito, its normally delicious. Big disappointment today. Normally its half beef and half chicken but today 30% beef, 30% chicken and 40% green peppers, and I’m not exaggerating. They get 1 more chance and if not changed, Adiós muchachos.

The food deserves a 4 star but my last three visits the service has been horrendously bad. Rude servers and managers. I think three strikes and they are out. All three times I was different friends and all were unhappy with the service. One of the last three visits I had taken a friend that has been battling cancer and she has some items she can’t eat and ask for them to be left off. But they didn’t. And when we ask them to fix it, the server was nasty, then a manager was argumentative. It was unacceptable. And how hard is it to leave off the onions and lettuce from a fajita plate. I came back and adjusted this bc the owners did contact me. I will admit I have been remiss in calling them back but their reaching out saying they wanted to talk to me made me decide to adjust the rating for the food.

Chile Verde is a great little Mexican place with a lot of promise. Chile Verde is a sort of mid-level Mexican place in Columbus, somewhat squirreled away in the corner of a strip mall. The interior is quite nice and clean, though obviously made to be more family-friendly and colorful. Service is absolutely excellent and friendly, and prices are super affordable. Chile Verde has an «Uncle John’s Fajita» — a low-carb fajita — that piqued my interest the second I saw it. Fajitas are already the healthier option on most Mexican menus, and a low-carb option is a super welcome addition to any menu, at least in my mind. While the fajita was good, I’ll confess I found it a little underwhelming — the fajita was obviously meant to be eaten without tortillas, rice, or beans, but lacked any sort of spices to make eating it anything other than eating a large slab of grilled chicken and vegetables. I tried throwing some salsa and cheese on, but that didn’t help much. The dish is a REALLY good idea that could be made 300x better with a bit more of a kick of any kind. With that said, I think Chile Verde was a solid place, and I could very much see going back.

This place merits one of the few five star ratings that I have written. There is something to be said for knowing what you want to be and doing it well and the Chili Verde hits the mark spot on. Straightforward Mexican food that is great quality and served by friendly staff. I recently dined there for lunch and as always it was an awesome experience. Everything I have had here has been top notch but they may serve up the most impressive fajitas I have seen anywhere. For great Mexican this place is a great choice.

This is one of my fiancé and mine’s all time favorite go to restaurant. They have delicious chips and salsa and their queso is to die for. Now the menu is more of a New Mexico type of food. It is sort of a mixture of Texas and Mexican food. So they have normal burritos and enchiladas but a twist on them. I usually get the burrito with the mild sauce, and they are still very spicy, delicious but spicy. Another reviewer said they have spicy food, and be warned their food is spicy! The restaurant is clean and the servers are friendly and helpful. They only have indoor seating. You must go to this place.

Stopped in on the advice of a friend. Glad I did. Good size burrito, great tasting red sauce. Rice cooked very well. And the price was very good also. 10.00 lunch is always good.

After a very humid day outside both my husband and I were famished and wanted something good to eat. He hadn’t ever been here and wanted to try«new restaurants» in the Columbus area. I know this restaurant isn’t new but my Unilocal app on my phone does not have the option to show me where all the new restaurants are that people are reviewing. So that makes it a bit difficult to introduce him to all the new restaurants. But I really wanted him to try this restaurant although I knew the spice level of the food might irritate him. He ended up ordering the barbeque quesadilla because it was highly recommended by out waiter. I really hoped that would not be spicy for him but the barbeque sauce was still spicy for his taste buds. I told him to dip it into the sour cream to cool it down for him and it made the meal so much more pleasant for him. I ended up ordering the Santa Fe chicken combination meal. It was really good, it sort of reminded me of Chipotle with the black beans, rice, tomatoes, corn and chicken. Since I love Chipotle, I finished it up pretty quickly. The prices are pretty reasonable, I just wish the menu had options to show people who are sensitive to spicy food a sign like a hot pepper for spicy or a sign of spice level. It would be very helpful I think. I would highly recommend this to anyone looking for good Mexican food in the Polaris area.

Chili Verde may be small, but it packs a big punch. I have been here for lunch several times and am always pleased. I usually get the Uncle John’s Fajitas, which is a big pile of chicken and veggies, without all of the rice, beans, etc. that normally comes with fajitas(and sits uneaten). Piping hot, super fresh. Yes, please. I’ve also had enchiladas, guac, soup… All good. Tucked between the mattress store and a noodles n co, it is unassuming from the outside, but if you like fresh mexican, this is the place to go in this hood.

Wonderful gluten-free, vegetarian and vegan friendly restaurant! I order off their catering menu for my work every now and then, and they are always SO nice and helpful with everything. I even get help taking the order out to my car! My work employees always rave about how good everything is, and I agree!

I had to come back after my first visit to try a few new items. I started off with the crab boules and they were great. The breading was crisp but dense and there was plenty of crab in the filling also. The crab was fresh and moist. I had the traditional chimi with green Chile pork for my entrée and it didn’t disappoint. The pork was moist and tasty and the inside was packed! They definitely didn’t skimp here. I had another great experience here and will be back once again. On top of the food quality, I went on Cinco de Mayo and they were appropriately staffed. My food was out in no time and the service was outstanding!

I was passing by, thought they were closed but gave a call. I thank my lucky stars I did. I was a first timer so I got a sampler and not just dropped off but a kind server to explain every little sample dish and then it was ON! I tried the fish taco, not to my liking but not bad. The chile relleno — DELICIOUS!!! The chips were good(not too salty) and the salsa was killer like pico and fresh fresh fresh. The beans were tasty and the green chile sauce took me back to cruisin thru Albuquerque. I am hooked. The next visit will be new things as they have caught my eye and I cannot wait!!!

This place has been on my radar for quite awhile and a windy warm Fall afternoon got me through the doors. New Mexican fare is on the menu here, the Green Chile is Master of the House and this meal took me back to a roadtrip many years ago thru the Sangre de Cristo Mountains and Taos on motorcycle. This place is in a pretty unassuming strip center off Gemini and can only be found by entering their lot in back of their building from the Costco lot. I was seated at a nice table and took some time to overlook their menu of SW selections while I was brought a basket of chips and salsa. I started off with a cup of their Green Chile Stew, steak, carrots, taters & green chilies. While not the most photogenic it was spot on perfect spicy and something I’ve got to try and recreate at home this Fall. Quickly behind this came my main entrée the Bbq Grilled Chicken Fajita Burrito. A heavily seasoned tortilla stuffed with juicy marinated chicken, sautéed green peppers and onions the covered in a sweet spicy Anasazi Bbq sauce. Yeah this is a fork and knife kind of burrito full of massive flavour paired up with my choice of their house pinto beans made it one muy caliente meal. Quick friendly service for the time of day I was in here so Chile Verde truly lives up to it’s name and will be my place to go to in the future for my Green Chile fix…

I absolutely love this place. Serving up very close to authentic NM food, Chili Verde is one of my favorite places to dine in the Polaris area. Born and raised in NM I find most Mexican restaurants not too my liking. While many can’t tell the difference between the two similar cuisames, my palate certainly can. CV keeps it authentic by putting green chilies in almost every dish. They don’t drown each entrée in sauces, which allows the patron to taste their food. Chili relleno, green chili stew and the enchilladas are my favorite dishes. I tend to stay away from any menu item that sounds ‘Midwesternized’ as they are somewhat bland to me. The only drawback is that service is quite inconsistent. The servers are pleasant but the follow up to the table is irregular, something is either missing, or I’ve been overcharged.
