RAMENRAMENRAMEN haha! as a newbie to ramen, I’m an absolute fan! I wish they can be closer to the short north/downtown, however it’s worth the drive! very nice staff, very helpful and accommodating! Chicken broth was creamy and flavorful! the spices were just right! No delivery and can not carry out… very easy parking.

I have nothing but great things to say about this establishment. Unlike some other Asian spots in the city that serve ramen as almost an afterthought, Meeshiko’s focus is traditional ramen. They have a variety of delicious noodle choices and use a chicken based broth in all of their ramen. Every type I have tried has had a wonderfully rich depth of flavor. In addition to their ramen, they offer some incredibly tasty appetizer options and I highly recommend the chashu pork buns(pictured below). The staff is very friendly and exhibit a strong sense of urgency around service/meal preparation. The interior has a modern look with a casual, inviting vibe. In my opinion Meeshiko is hands down the best ramen restaurant in Columbus.

I have been at Meshikou over a dozen times and have yet to write a review… this is long overdue! We live less than a mile away from Meshikou so it’s usually our spot for a hot noodle bowl on cool days. There is plenty of parking as it is in a strip mall area. Dine in only. Opens at 11 and goes through dinner hours. The staff has always been friendly and on top of things. We’ve never had issues with long wait times and the food always arrives hot and fresh. There is bar and table seating — we prefer the bar so we can watch the staff prepare our meal. The cucumber water is a wonderful touch. The hot tea is flavorful. I typically get their karaage ramen which is a huge bowl of delicious broth, mushrooms, scallions, fish cake, ramen, and soft boiled egg. The karaage(fried chicken) is dangerously addictive! It comes served on the side with a dipping sauce. I highly recommend the crab tacos as well! Prices are a bit high for ramen bowls but they are higher quality than other restaurants. The broth is more flavorful, the ingredients fresh, and you can’t beat their service.

I like this place better than Menya and Tensuke. Tip 1: No take out for ramen. Can take out rice bowls, apps, and broth less noodles. Tip 2: I took a group of friends the second time and one is on a GF diet per her doc and asked if they could do vegetarian ramen without noodles and something else. They could not accommodate. I think she ended up getting one of the rice bowl with the sauce on the side(soy sauce is not GF).

I love ramen. a lot. but I was pretty disappointed when I read they had discontinued their pork ramen and opted for chicken instead – I was wrong. the entire meal was fantastic, and the chicken ramen broth seems just as creamy and flavorful as a pork broth. don’t skip on appetizers and get an order of the pork chashu buns. AMAZE. I do wish they had beer, a nice cold one in hand really would have rounded out the meal, but I will be making the drive to this strip-mall spot again.

If you’ve never had ramen, you’re missing out! Meshikou is one of my favorite hidden gems in Columbus. It’s located in a plaza so parking is easy to find! It’s a great place to go on a date cause it’s not too expensive, pretty casual and the décor is cute! I always start out with the bbq chashu bun as an appetizer. it’s basically braised pork belly served in a steamed bun. SOSOGOOD. If you’ve ever had a vietnamese banh bao or the traditional Chinese meal with peking duck — this is similar but with pork. As for the ramen, I always go with spicy miso. Sometimes it’s too salty. most of the time its just right. The boiled egg and the corn are my favorite toppings. I really like their cucumber infused water. I mean, they could have easily just served regular tap water… but going that extra step is nice and is very much appreciated!

First time here today — and I need to admit that I was not super hungry so I did not get ramen. I am going to go again sometime to try that and might need to update my review then. Today I just got a side rice bowl with chicken and shared the crab tacos. The tacos were ok. I really liked the crab salad inside but did not really like the corn salsa thing on top. It was honestly a little odd. Also the shell broke right away and was impossible to eat without making a mess. The rice bowl was tasty. I enjoyed the big pieces of fried chicken on top with some tasty sauce on top. Service was good and prompt. I liked sitting at the bar because I could watch all the food being made. They are efficient and I appreciate that. Like I said I will be going back. Not the top Japanese place in the city, but worth a try.

I personally thought the pork broth was tasty. Considering some establishments can hack it, Meshikou’s had a rich, almost thicker than normal meat broth, taste. The al dante curly noodles were slightly chewy. Good«substance». Since this is my first encounter with Ramen, I can’t really comment as to the price point… Would love it if this joint offered a «Make Your Own» ramen bowl. I say this because there are toppings in other bowls that I’d love to incorporate(i.e., corn, asparagus spears etc). After talking with the waiter, was told that Meshikou is facing out their pork broth, and will be offering chicken or veggie only. Bummer. Why? They have been unable to find a distributor that can keep their pork broth supply up to par. Demand is high, stock isn’t meeting demand, you get the gist.

Quick, delicious, and $ 5 apps? So sad I haven’t been going to this place before now! Spicy ramen with chicken, karaage rice bowl, calamari, and habanero wings were all delicious. Everything was hot and cooked really well, wings were crispy and delicious, and the ramen broth was on point for sure. Sit at the bar and watch the magic happen!
