I was not happy with my haircuts at a particular salon. While having my hair washed I observed Kim cutting a customer’s hair. I couldn’t figure out how to have Kim cutting my hair without ruffling feathers. I no longer saw Kim cutting hair at the salon. It was obvious that she had left. Fortunately i ran into another beautician who worked at the salon. I asked about Kim. She told me she had moved to Diablo Salon. Kim has been cutting my hair for about a year, and I am thrilled with the attention she pays while cutting my hair. She listens to my suggestions, takes photos of my haircut and emails them to me. Friends compliment me on my haircuts. She is so upbeat, friendly, and a very talented in what she does

Kim Vo has been cutting & highlighting my hair ever since moving to California in 2001. I have loyally followed Kim as she is like family to me! She does an amazing job without me telling her what to do! She makes me feel beautiful every time I see her! Best of all, her prices are reasonable & she works fast & efficiently! Thank you Kim!

Kim Vo is amazing! She has been doing my family’s hair for 16 years, and we have followed her faithfully. She is excellent at color and haircuts, she is honest and hardworking. I love that she is fast, and I can be in and out quickly. Her prices are outstanding as well. My daughter lives in Georgia now and waits to get her hair done with Kim when she comes back for visits. You won’t be disappointed.

I’ve been going here for a couple years now, the staff is always incredibly friendly and pleasant. I’ve gotten my hair cut by both Winnie and Mei who both have done a great job! They really take the time to listen to what you’re asking for with a haircut and apply their own knowledge and experience to give you a look that would look best on you. I usually just come here to get my hair trimmed, but I have also gotten a lot of length cut off for a short hairstyle that was very cute! I always get tons of compliments after getting my haircut here which is also what I love. I’d definitely recommend coming here. I refuse to get my haircut anywhere else after having a horrendouse experience at Great Clips. Thank you Diablo Salon for being my go-​to spot for beautiful hair!

I was in desperate search for a haircut before my vacation. I called and was able to get an appointment with Wining the night before my trip. Wini spent time getting to understand my hair and then proceeded to give me a great cut. I will most certainly return! Thanks Wini and Diablo Salon!

Quite a find. Easy to get to and park, nice quiet environment, great prices, and Winnie is a real talent. She understands curly hair. Walnut Creek is overflowing with salons, but none come close imho. I’d freeway travel just to get my haircut here.

Winnie gave me a basic cut, she got rid of my split ends and gave me some new layers. Overall I like the cut but her methodology was a little new for me. Instead of sitting me down for a wash she immediately started straightening my hair and proceeded to cut my hair whilst dry. This would be understandable if I had super curly or frizzy hair but I have straight fine hair. She also over used the razor to cut my layers. In the end I feel like I can’t complain because of how nice she is and how affordable the cut was.

I was hesitant to go to a new stylist, but went based off other Unilocal reviews, and this place being local, and inexpensive.
I saw Winnie, she has about 10 years professional experience, and owns this salon for a couple years now. She did a great job on cleaning up my pixie haircut, and did just as I asked. I liked that she assessed my hair, the direction of my hair growth, my texture, etc, before picking up the scissors.
I have recommended my boyfriend and girlfriends to check her out. The salon is very clean, and modern, tucked away behind the Round Table PIzza area, in the Oak Grove Trader Joe’s shopping center, easy to miss.
Winnie definitely has won my trust, and a return client for sure.

First time experience with this hair salon was great! Winnie did an awesome job trimming my hair, gave the exactly length I wanted. Had good conversation and she really takes her time on you to make sure it has done precisely.

I’ve been coming here for several years now. I first met the crew when they worked at a «chain» hair cut place and followed them here when one of them opened her own business.
I’m a guy so I generally get a basic hair cut, shampoo and maybe some gel. For me that’s a full service hair cut. The price is reasonable /​comparable, the place is clean and well kept. The staff are awesome. You can probably check out their services on the website but they cut men and women’s hair here and seem to offer services that any salon would. Sometimes I set an appointment and other times I wander in with a cup if coffee and wait for a hair cut. Either way, I walk out with a great hair cut.

I come in not knowing what the hell I want and Winnie just flies with me. I come out with a smile on my face and fantastic hair.
You know your hair is great when you’re getting compliments left and right. Next day at work, everyone noticed and said my hair looked great. One of my coworkers even went to her the very next weekend. My boyfriend said it’s the best haircut and color he’s ever seen me with (after 5+ years together).
If you’re looking for a new salon, try this place. I’ve had a haircut done by Mei, too, and she’s great as well!
***HOT TIP: They carry Moroccanoil products! Extra bonus. :) If you need volume, try the volumizing shampoo. I just tried it and my hair has at least 4x the volume versus regular shampoo.

For guy’s haircuts this is the place to go. All the hairstylists: Winnie, Rhoda, May, are incredibly attentive and make great conversation.
I’ve gotten my haircut in LA, SF, NYC, and Boston… but as far as customer service and experience: this place wins hands down.

Heads up: This review is primarily for May, a hairstylist at Diablo Salon.
Cut, color, treatments — May can do it all. I’ve been seeing May for over six years now, the kind of commitment that tells you that this woman knows exactly what she’s doing.
May is a perfectionist. When she does something — whether it’s giving me low-​lights for the illusion of volume, or blow-​drying and straightening my hair — she does it with great care and attention. I can always be sure that what I ask for is EXACTLY what I’ll get.
The best part about May is that she will NEVER give you any sort of service she doesn’t think is necessary. So you can never expect that she’ll try to push a deep conditioner if it’s not actually needed.
Her consultations are brilliant. In discussing your hair wants, she will absolutely take into account the bigger picture, a trait many stylists lack. For example, if you ask her for a new color style, she’ll weigh in on whether or not she thinks it will complement your face, your current style, etc.
She’s absolutely amazing and I look forward to many, many more years of working with May!
