What kind of restaurant doesn’t open until 4. I guess people aren’t hungry at lunch time.

I am the waitress at this place, and In response to Tina, the DECORATIVE smoker that was previously used by another owner is still in our building, but our huge commercial smoker out back is where we smoke our meats to perfection, you’re welcome to come see it! Your cheeseburger is the same price if you get onions or pickles but if we made a mistake we would have certainly been happy to correct it. As far as your BBQ experience, I personally brought you two sandwiches from two different boston butts, and both were fine and you certainly didn’t complain about the TWO pieces of chicken that replaced your sandwich, you ended up eating. Also, it was pulled straight from the smoker so it was not cold. Not to mention your man friend cleaned his plate with the cheeseburger you never mentioned being wrong. Also, you came in the EARLY Evening, when most people are not eating, and yes, it was slow, but I can assure you our customers come In faithfully or else we wouldn’t still be here. We did everything possible to make your order right, including free chicken, but to each his own. We will forever continue to serve our customers to the best of our ability

No! That was going to be the extent of my review, but Unilocal would only allow it as a tip. So, they are essentially forcing me to go into further detail as to why. I ordered a regular BBQ sandwich. When it arrived I had to ask the waitress if it was brisket because it was unlike any pork sandwich I’d experienced. Large, dry, flavorless and stinky pieces of meat. I asked for a to-go box because I’d have to cook it at home and season it to be able to eat it. She offered to get fresh meat, but I declined because there was zero smoke. She brought me chicken to try. It was cold, flavorless and had rubbery elastic skin. It was probably a couple days old as it had a bad smell also. The whole time we were here absolutely no other customers visited. Every time I pass by, on my way to the meat market, there are no customers. Each time I’ve been to Berry’s, across the street, there are no customers here. I can see why. I did clarify that the owners were«competition smokers» and she said they have been for 20 years. There is no way in the world they would have offered(what I was served) to a judge.

Most people never get the chance to taste BBQ as fine and well crafted as prepared in major BBQ cooking competitions. More and more BBQ restaurants are being founded by experienced BBQ pit masters who got their start and learned their BBQ skills in a competition environment. The nearby Memphis-In-May BBQ Competition has been running almost 40 years and become the largest BBQ competition in the world. Locally, Corinth’s annual Hog Wild Festival has been inspiring local BBQ chefs for over 25 years. One of Corinth’s local BBQ chefs who got his start cooking in BBQ competitions is Jerry Tyson who has just opened Corinth’s newest BBQ restaurant. Jerry opened a successful restaurant several years ago until health issues sidelined him for a while. With his retirement from a full-time day job, he’s back again with JT’s Crossroads Smokers. This time he’s offering TakeOut service only with a full range of BBQ specialties including pork, beef and chicken. My personal favorite is his beef brisket but his pulled pork and BBQ ribs deserve equal attention. Call in or email to avoid waiting.
