Reba’s House of Rest

I met Reba through a friend, and she saw I was in pain. Without hesitation, she started an over the clothes shoulder/​neck massage. I can move. She is a miracle worker, and i’ll be booking an official appointment with her to help relieve my stress. Thank you Reba. Great job.

I had a wonderful massage today by Reba. I am very particular about the setting of where my massage takes place and it is so peaceful and relaxing with dim lighting, soft music and small water fountains which I love the sound of! Reba made me feel very comfortable in letting her know if the pressure was too much or too little, if I was hot or cold, or if I wanted to chat or rest in silence. She had great technique and she managed to find several troubled areas that I didn’t even know were there! She left me feeling like I had melted into the bed. I still can’t believe she only charges $ 45 for the hour but its evident that she is not in it for the money, but rather to help people. I look forward to returning soon!

I have to say I was NOT happy with my experience here and have since found a better place in Corpus. I was new in town and originally chose this place because of the great review. Reba was friendly enough and the space was inviting but there was little I found relaxing about this…
Complaints:
1) Reba began our session off with a PRAYER TO JESUS. Now listen, i’m all for healers connecting with whatever they think helps them to heal and gives them their gift… but do it silently! As someone who doesn’t believe in Jesus and has experienced some traumatic situations around being discriminated against for this I was incredibly uncomfortable and this made me more tense than I already was.
2) Reba wouldn’t stop talking! I tried subtle responses, one word answers, and even pretending I was asleep but to no avail. I finally just gave in about halfway through and chatted back– realizing relaxation was not gonna be happening.
3) The topics she chatted about were highly inappropriate and very personal. Her religion, politics, her children (and racial issues associated with them), and even her health issues. These included gastrointestinal and lady issues! Ummm… how is hearing abotu your va-​jay-​jay gonna relax me!!!
4) She commented on my skin and some bumps I have and started diagnosising me with different diseases/​deficincies. As a doctor who doesnt practice medicine, I know how dangerous this is and was appaled she would risk giving medical advice. Also, here i am buck-​naked in front of this woman and she tries to make me feel comfortable by commenting on my skin’s flaws… not cool! I wanted to crawl under the sheet and die!
5) She didn’t really focus on the spots I told her I was struggling with the most. She also very rarey checked in about pressure after the first 15 minutes despite clearly having muscle spasm once or twice because she was too hard.
I know some of this I could have voiced to her but by the end I just wanted to get out of there! Also confrontation does not equal relaxing in my book. I felt like I needed a spa day to recover from my massage! I felt bad about myself and not at all relaxed when I left.
On the plus side Reba called to check in the next day to be sure I was feeling ok (I was actually more sore than I have ever been after a massage and almost went to the chiropractor to have an adjustment cause my neck hurt so bad). I however, did not return her call and will NOT be returning to her business.

My wife is pregnant and I booked her an appointment here. Very nice room and atmosphere, very relaxing. Great massage and very good prices. $ 45 for an hour! Reba is very friendly too. Would recommend to everyone.
