On Angels’ Wings

Local businesses are slowly dying out in this economy. Big buck stores are taking over as the smaller stores get demolished in the race to success. But there’s something about small business establishments that you don’t get at any major department store. The Environment: On Angels’ wings has beautiful environment filled with eye catching merchandise like clothes, electronics, and toys. The Prices: it’s hard to find unbeatable deals now a days, but here, everything is practically a steal! The Customer Service: I didn’t end up buying anything but I was directed towards a specific section in the store in which I could not find. All these perks seem to only come with local business these days. I love supporting local thrift shops and On Angels’ Wings is definitely somewhere you want to be to find great deals and great customer service. Oh yeah and they have pets which is fantastic.

This is a great little thrift store with great prices. There is always a good selection of children’s, baby and Women’s clothing. There is a ever-​changing selection of knickknacks that is a joy to look through. Books, Albums, CDs are are priced comparable to other thrift stores. If you need a leash, collar, bowl for you animal, they have them for cheap. This is the place to get it.
There is a frequent buyer’s card that can be utilized if you shop here enough.
Most important is the cause On Angels’ Wings represents. This is an animal charity. They rescue a ton of animals here. They are often on display here or on their website. I have been shopping here, and more importantly, donating here for years now. There is no better thrift store cause in McHenry County.
The people who work/​volunteer here are all wonderful, polite and always willing to help you find whatever you are looking for. I have nothing but good things to say about On Angels’ Wings.

Great cause and a wonderful store. They have a little of everything, always fun. On top of it sometimes there are cats and dogs available at the store for adoption. :)

Always a great selection, and the volunteers are helpful, cheerful, and accommodating. Items for sale are in above average condition — I have found very little «junk».
And, of course, I love their mission! I didn’t realize that there were adoptable animals in the store — a happy beagle (on a leash) walking about, and three beautiful kittens! It made the trip that much more fun.

I’ve been here a few times and am pleasantly surprised by what I find here! My mom and I are animal lovers. I live in the south suburbs and my mom lives in the northwest suburbs and we enjoy taking a trip out here to donate and shop at this thrift store. It’s for a GREAT cause and I’m very happy to donate my things to them.
The shop is fairly well-​organized and you do need to hunt to find good things. I’ve found many labels like Victoria’s Secret PINK, Gap, Mango, Forever 21, Michael Kors, Simply Vera by Vera Wang, BCBG Max Azria, and Free People, to name a few. They also have housewares, shoes, and pet supplies (Of course). They also have a sale rack where everything is $ 1. Again, you need to dig through it to find the goods.
There is an adjoining room where they keep a few animals up for adoption. The smell doesn’t bother me personally.
If you’re in the area, check it out — maybe you’ll find some of my used clothing on the racks! Support the animals!
Also, you get a 3% discount if you pay with cash instead of a card!

Worth stopping in if you’re in the area, but I do agree with what others have said – that the prices don’t always make you feel like you’re getting the best deal. It’s just a sorting game. Some items are priced really well & some aren’t. Just have to pick out the treasures & leave the other items until they go on sale. I like that they have sales (like today w/​the choose any item to be ½ off.). The store benefits a great cause.
