Nice place to stay and right by the freeway. Room was comfy. However the front desk named Natalyia, was very rude. Doesn’t make you feel welcome at all. Her attitude sucks. Hope they re-train you on your customer service skills. The room that we stayed at had a fridge not was not cleaned at all . Overall the beds were comfy and clean. The bathroom is kinda small but clean. It’s close to the mall and CHP.

FIREALARMTESTING in the MORNING! -(This echos the review by Pea P.) At 8:19 a.m. on a Wednesday 1÷6÷16(!) the fire alarm in the room and hallway went off. There was a speaker in the room on the wall that announced they would be doing fire alarm testing — quite alarming to hear a real voice in your room that jolts you from your sound sleep! Couldn’t sleep after this. When we returned to the room at 10:00 a.m. they were STILL doing testing of the entire floor, hallway doors closed, alarms going off. –I appreciate that they check their system but can’t it be done mid-day or afternoon when guests are less likely to still be sleeping? –Location: convenient to the 405 freeway and the Westfield Mall is a block away. Many usual stores, restaurants, and food are within a short drive. –Parking: $ 15/day, outdoor lots all around the hotel, not a problem to find a close space, self-park, use your room card key to enter and exit. Saw an attendant in the booth only sporadically during the day, not at night. –Check-in: good customer service on the first check-in, meh on the second. Remind them about your Marriott Rewards number and you get to «spin the wheel» for a free coffee, appetizer, bonus points, or mini-mart item. –Baggage storage: might not be the most secure, the room is just inside the front entrance. I saw the door wide open and unattended while the valet went to the far side of the lobby. When I went to retrieve our bags the valet(a different guy than the one who checked them in) just motioned to me to pick out whatever bags were ours and didn’t check if the tags matched our claim tickets. –Room: comfy, clean, quiet(the freeway couldn’t be heard even though it was close by). Didn’t smell any unusual or suspicious odors. TV had a wall mount, able to view it from either bed. Mini-refrigerator + small safe(located atop the frig so the safe items get slightly warm). –Wi-fi: free, not the fastest, I’d rather use a hot spot. –Lounge/food: didn’t try it although there always seemed to be quite a crowd enjoying the scene. –Saw the University of Pacific(Stockton) basketball team practicing their plays outside, they stayed there. Overall: would stay there again, the location is close to LAX and a good mid-way place between going to the Westside or the South Bay. But beware of the FIREALARMTESTING!

Staying here right now and i have to say their customer service is quite amazing. always willing to do whatever to make the customer happy. They will change your room in a heartbeat if you have a problem. Fruit infused water constantly in the lobby which is always refreshing. I make it a goal to have a cup each time i pass the lobby. Beds arw quite comfortable, curtains that can easily shut out every bit lf light in the room, high speed internet, swimming pool and best of all very very clean. Stayed un numerous hotels in los angeles and these guys just seem to do no wrong. 5 stars for me

Poor customer service, lousy beds and no free breakfast for gold members(this hotel is an ‘exception’ to the rule) makes for a not-so-awesome Marriott experience. But hey, at least the place is clean.

This has been by far the best experience at a hotel. The staff here is wonderful. They will go out of their way to help with anything. The full service restaurant has wonderful food. We could go out but why when the food here is so good. They have a great selection of sandwiches, soups and salads. The pizza was pretty good too. They also have self service guest laundry services and they provide the soap and softener. Nice to head home with clean laundry. The room was spotless and quiet. Let me say kudos again to the staff. They treat you like family.

The customer service at this Marriott is below par(usually other Marriotts are decent). The staff is not very helpful and kind of lazy. When several people were sent here because of a flight delay, the staff was not accommodating of the fact that people were unable to fly out again until the evening. They said we aren’t guests(even though we stayed from 3am to noon) after we have checked out, and aren’t supposed to enjoy the facilities. It wouldn’t have cost this woman anything to be more welcoming and accommodating of a group of weary travellers, but I guess she couldn’t be bothered. When I originally checked in, the guy at the desk said it was no problem to just call the shuttle. When I later asked for help getting a shuttle the woman wouldn’t call for me, and another said I was supposed to call 24 hours in advance(which I couldn’t have done because it was before my flight had been cancelled in the first place). This particular Marriott really needs to learn more about the meaning of hospitality.

Terrible customer service by Kenya(overnight desk clerk). She is rude, will not listen, wants to talk over the guest, and her behavior is unacceptable. I would strongly suggest the GM, Ron Hurst, carefully evaluate who he has representing his hotel at any point during the day or night.

Courtyard Los Angeles Westside is a great place to crash near Venice and Santa Monica, just remember to bring your medical marijuana card. I am a Marriott Rewards Member thanks to work and I occasionally use points for weekends full of drunken debauchery which is how I ended up at this hotel. The beds are soft, the pillows are in good shape and the lobby is actually really nice. It even features a bar offering decent food open until late. Oh, and they keep the rooms really clean. I love that. The parking is ample and $ 15.00 a night with in and out privleges. Über drivers can get easily confused where you are so be sure to text them the name of the hotel as I learned. Another oddity is that the hotel smells like weed literally all day and night. Every floor is weeded the hell out. Deal breaker? No. But it gets old constantly smelling El Bluntadore charring the shrubs 24⁄7. That said, it is on top of the 405 and within striking distance of all of LA’s westside, so I will probably end up there again soon.

The rooms are great but the service needs a facelift. Especially in accounting. I needed my invoice and Christine who was in accounting kept spelling my name wrong and proceeded to try to correct me. She asked me for my last name, and when I gave it to her she would respond with my first name and when I told her that wasn’t my last name she proceeded to have the last word. She couldn’t find me and had an attitude of not wanting to help me and in fact asked if I even stayed with them. After 15 minutes of back and forth it was because she didn’t spelled my name correctly. Talk about frustration. They need to train their people on better hospitality and service and not try to correct their customers or always have the last word.

2 the biggest downfall was the frustration of the parking lot. context: this is marriotts«budget» hotel and ive stayed at hundreds of them room was fine and typical courtyard.(if you want a completely upgraded courtyard experience, go to the courtyard marriott irvine spectrum, and it’ll blow your mind how its a freakin courtyard anyways room was fine but what was annoying was how the flat screen was not visible from the right side of the room because the closet sticks out so much you can’t see it. its mounted to the wall. its a small thing but not typical of what ive seen at other marriotts. staff was super friendly parking lot was a joke. you have to swipe your card to get out and it never worked each day i was there. i asked the staff each time and they said i just have to buzz and of course they dont answer half the time because they may be short staffed. then of course you are paging the front desk repeatedly from the gate speaking of which, i called front desk 2 times and gave up after calling several times, minutes apart, because no one answered i dont expect much from a courtyard but the tv issue and parking lot frustrations gave it a deserving 2

This place has been good to me. The room still has that sharp, clean, brand new look. The décor consists of clean, minimalist shapes softened by earthy colors. In my room, there was a desk that had another desk underneath that pulls out to give you tons of workspace. Perfect for doing work that requires long nights and spreading out lots of documents and electronic devices. I asked for a quiet room — which I also do when I book other hotels — but the staff at this Marriott actually read it and did something. The lady at concierge desk said, «We got you a room on the opposite side of the freeway. We want you to do well on your exam.» Seriously, nobody ever talks like that anymore. But every time I walked across the lobby — even if I was in a hurry — somebody would catch my eye and give a big, happy greeting.

I’ve just about lived here at times over the past three years. It’s close to my LA office, so it’s incredibly convenient for me. Close to beaches($ 7 über to Venice!) and LAX. In all general terms of a hotel, this place should be a 3. But, for what it lacks in overall charm, it makes up for in other spots and the price is reasonable when you’re thinking LA hotels. * Service is always top notch. Can’t say that enough, especially in the hotel bar — I’ve often had another glass of wine being put down in front of me as I’m finishing the one in my hand. Well done, sir, well done. * Rooms are clean, bed is comfy, water is hot and the internet does what it needs to do. Really like their two-room suites, too. Tons of space to throw my stuff everywhere and pretend I’m home. * Food is OK for what it is, plus there are several spots within walking distance if you want something different. Salmon is my favorite; it’s actually pretty good for the price. Wine list could use some love, but the snob in me always finds something that will work. * Lots of parking. Feels somewhat secure. At least my car hasn’t been broken in here before. They do charge(I think it’s $ 10 a night). Easy in, easy out. They’ve recently done a ton of renovations downstairs which have given it a more modern look/feel on the inside. Happy with it. I shall continue to return and pile up the Marriott points.

I recently stayed there just to get away and finish up some work. My stay was so pleasant! It’s quiet, beds are comfy and very clean rooms. It was exactly what I needed to get some zzzz’s and wake up energized to finish up some work. All I asked for is a comfy bed, cable tv to watch all the housewives shows and wifi to get my work done and I found what I was looking :)

It’s well located, close to a couple of shops etc… The staff was friendly. They provide shuttle to lax but it’s $ 25 ! The bathrooms are small and the bedroom was so hot, so we turned the ac on and it’s one loud AC! Not pleasant. I was a little irritated that they don’t provide any bfast room service. U have to go downstairs and get Starbucks or their buffet for $ 15. It’s close to the airport and 4 miles from Venice beach. The room was clean. It’s an ok hotel I would say.

The walls in this Courtyard are unfortunately very thin. I had the opportunity to listen in to an entire conversation in the room next door that eventually led me to the lobby downstairs to request another room. The woman at the front desk was very friendly and helpful, and moved me to another room immediately on the same floor. 5 stars for the staff here, but the thin walls are a huge drawback given that sound proofing should be a basic element when constructing a hotel. Also, if you are on the freeway side, be prepared for the endless noise of traffic. I welcome this as white noise however since I would rather not listen in to the«activity» going on next door. Pop your Ambien early and all should be well.

Major renovation in progress late March(probably done by now), I immediately felt a hotel«W» vibe. A little bit retro, a little bit chi-chi, definitely cool. Met up with a friend residing here for the weekend to interpret for a real, honest to God crime scene investigator. Sorry, wasn’t privy to the details, confidentiality you know but it musta been a big deal as my friend’s services don’t come cheap. What wasn’t cheap either was parking to meet my pal for dinner. Our intent was to leave my car and walk to dine at either the Howard Hughes Center or the Westfield Mall, where we finally ate
Friend met me in the lobby and was ready to truck, said the room was AWESOME. Sight unseen, taking my bud’s word, CSI interpreters don’t lie! I asked the concierge if I should pay for parking now or later. Now would be fine, $ 15. What? Jaw fell to floor. Without missing a beat, realizing my friend was a guest, she reduced it to $ 8, signed off onto my friend’s tab. Four stars for fast thinking graciousness and as my friend confirmed not a bad place to stay.

This is reviewing the HOTELONLY! ROOM(12th Floor — King Room) FRIDGE(Yes) MICROWAVE(No) COFFEEPOT(Yes) IRON&BOARD(Yes) TV(LG37″ LCDTV) DESK(Yes) COUCH(Yes) FOLDOUTBED(Yes) INTERNET(Free WiFi/Wired) BUSINESSCENTER(Yes) FITNESSCENTER(Yes) POOL/JACUZZI(Yes/Yes) PARKING(Free Lot?) RATE(February, 2014 — $ 189/night) PROS **DirecTV Box You actually get a DirecTV box bolted below the TV — meaning you get to browse channels via a guide! **Access To TV Inputs The DirecTV inputs to the TV with regular RCA, but you have a couple HDMI and VGA inputs available too if you want to hook up an outside device. In my room, my remote was busted, so I couldn’t change the input. I’m thinking this is a fluke. Just to tell the story, though, I was moving my TV and accidentally hit the channel Up button, which took me out of TV/Video…and with a busted remote, I couldn’t restore my DirecTV! Oh well, I was just staying for 1 night. **So Much POWAHH!(Outlets) While they’re not all in the most convenient spots, you have access to 10 outlets without having to move a single piece of furniture! And that’s not counting the couple in the bathroom. CONS **Not HD! The TV itself supports HD, but, as I said earlier, the DirecTV box is connected via simple RCA, which is analog and not digital. No HDTV here, unfortunately. Even if you had your own cables, the DirecTV box only outputs RCA, S-Video, and RF. Bummer. OTHERNOTES **No Window Screen! I was on the 12th(top) floor. I opened the window and saw that I had simple window latches to lock the window. Normally in tall hotel buildings, they screw in metal blocks to stop you from opening the window very wide, or the windows don’t open, and they have these little vents that you open for outside air. I imagine these are in place so you don’t try to(or accidentally) jump out and fall to your death. Well, once you pop open those latches, the window opens all the way(sideways), so there’s nothing stopping you from jumping! Anyway, just a word to all you parents out there with curious children.
