I love the new shuttle pickup location. Granted the last time I shuttled to the Bowl was 4 yrs ago when shuttle pickup was on Venice Blvd at Media Park across from TJ’s. My main concern upon realizing the Metro center pickup on Washington was the risk of finding a packed full parking lot of commuters still in their way back to the lot. As such, we headed over a good 1.5hrs early. Just in case the lot were full and we have to fall back to plan B & park at TJ’s parking structure & hike over with picnic bags & all. Anyways, what a relief it was to find a parking space as soon as we showed up! Major parking bump avoided & all we have to do now is sit back and enjoy the rest of our evening — that we did thoroughly! The Culver City shuttle is scheduled for 7pm. Highly, cannot stress enuf that it is highly recommended to plan ahead and buy your shuttle tickets at $ 7 + $ 1.75 ticketmaster fee at least 48hrs prior. Else you’ll be waiting in standby line and also pay $ 12 cash when you show up. One thing I thought useful to know that I learnt when we showed up is that although the Culver City shuttle schedule only has a 7pm time pickup, the 1st shuttle actually leaves earlier. There were 6 shuttles leaving Culver City that night. Basically as soon as the 1st shuttle is full, we actually left at 6:40pm. No idea why they don’t post different departure times online. Anyways. Just glad we showed up earlier and had extra time at the Bowl for Will Call and picnic dinner before the concert started. The folks were all friendly and our driver was particularly calm and safe! I know ‘coz we sat on the front row seats with full«pano» view :-) Pretty neat to see him maneuver this huge bus at street turns! Unless we get VIP parking pass at the Bowl, we will definitely shuttle over. Picnic baskets in tow.

I love the general idea of park and ride. It is inexpensive and better for the environment. However, there was one major problem with the Culver City Park ‘N Ride to the Hollywood Bowl: Finding a space to park was impossible. The bus was scheduled to leave at 6.30 pm, and we got there at 5:50. After almost 30 minutes of circling the completely full parking lot, we realized that time was running out, so we started to circle the surrounding streets. This turned out to be just as frustrating. On Venice Blvd., there was major construction that caused very slow-moving traffic, and parking along the streets was either limited, metered, or occupied. We finally got lucky and scored a spot further up on Washington Blvd. and were still able to catch the bus — with a lot of running and huffing and puffing. So the«park» part of park n ride gets 0 stars. Once we were on the bus, everything went very smoothly, hence the 3 star rating. The organizer was very clear on where we would find the bus after the show and how much time we had to get to it. At the end of the show, everything was very organized, and there were plenty of helpers to guide you to the correct bus. Next time, I will probably give Park ‘N Ride another chance, but I will definitely try out a different location. The Culver City location was hard to find, parking was impossible to find, and the surrounding streets don’t offer a lot of «overflow» parking either.

UnilocalINSIDERTIPFROMDOREEN(AKAAZNPERSUASION): I love park and ride, so cheap, easy, and convenient with a free lot for your car. ***** This is the only way I travel to the Hollywood Bowl. You can buy the ticket online or at the bus. Ample time to board after the concert and the bus is always in the same spot. They offer limited park and ride for special event concerts, but the closest one is Westwood and not that far at all! Don’t forget to bring your picnic food, snacks, drinks, jacket, blanket, seat cushion to be most comfy at the concert.
