I love the vibe and unpretentiousness of the Café. It’s around the corner from my house. I was really bummed last weekend that they didn’t have vegan options on the weekends. I think of them as cool/hip spot but to not have food options for those of us that want a healthier, more compassionate more environmentally friendly life is a bust for me. At least ONE option on the weekend would be good. Lots of big time restaurants are catching up. C’mon now NSCC.

First of all they make delicious Stumptown Coffee and the Barista made my Americano a perfect temperature. I stopped in because of the Stumptown sign. Saw the menu and decided to get an Avacado Toast to go. When I got in my car I took a bite and proceeded to eat the entire thing sitting in my car. I then called 5 people and told them about how amazing their sourdough is. I live in Hollywood by the time I got home I seriously considered going back.

Nice décor and good atmosphere. However WiFi doesn’t work for some devices(Lenova Yoga 3 and some mobile phones). SSID that does not work is NSOCATT. Please note that, wifi does work for some other devices.

I absolutely love coming here. It’s super cute décor plus the relaxing atmosphere is a great place to get a anything you need to get done, done. From their coffee to salads to desserts, this place has it all! Oh, and the music? amazing! it ranges from folk to soul to alternative to pop, great for studying or a simple coffee date.

I expected more from this place! It’s average at best. I got a mocha and a sandwich with prosciutto but it was so hard almost like jerky. My drink was ok, I’ve had better. Probably wouldn’t be my first choice to go to.

At first when I looked at the menu I couldn’t figure out why all the 5 star reviews. Seemed pretty ordinary to me. The the food arrived and on the first bite I understood. Best breakfast on earth. Just go. Thank me later.

I work in HD buttercup and there aren’t too many food options for lunch. New School was previously serving food that the classes were preparing, but now they have like a café option. Love it! I’ll definitely be a regular! ENJOY!

Stopped by for a cappuccino around 10AM on a Saturday. The vibe was nice and calm. A place you could do some work on your laptop. Overall a decent place for a café

NEWDISCOVERY!!! A café with almost everything. Stayed local to explore my hood. I drive by Culver City’s Art District all the time but haven’t strolled this part of town. It’s a developing area with lots of new cool things, furniture stores, cooking stores, art galleries, new condos and lofts, and a bunch of artsy-fartsy stuff. If you don’t want to pay for street parking there is a small parking lot to the side of the building. Prime time is between 9−11am and then it starts to slow down but it can get very busy and I can see why locals are regulars and loving this spot. You order at the counter and take a seat. Super yummy food Delicious espresso Great atmosphere Decent pricing but… logistics and customer service do need improvement. That menu!!! Breakfast, Lunch, Grilled items, Espresso, Beer, Wine, Dessert, Sides… perfect for every person. GOODMORNINGPLATE — two eggs, two bacon slices, roasted potatoes, house-made sour dough toast, jam & butter. Simple and typical breakfast but it was very good and tasted fresh. I roasted potatoes had a nice crispy and fluff and completely naked as in no salt/pepper/add-ins. I like that — lets the customer decide how to flavor their own potatoes. The house-made sour dough toast was surprisingly good. I thought it was going to be regular tasting toast but the size of the toast was big and thick and the sour-dough taste was light. You can tell the bread was made fresh! Goodstuff. HIGHLYRECOMMEND. LATTE — boooo no exciting foam art. But they roast Stumptown beans. Those beans are amazing. Strong, smooth, and addicting. SERVICENEEDSIMPROVEMENT. 1. The very pleasant and kind wait staff drops off your food at the table and that’s not. When they drop it off they don’t ask if you need anything or direct you to where you can get condiments. They don’t bother to come and check if your meal is okay. I had to get up a couple times to 1) search for more napkins 2) search for ketchup in which I didn’t see anywhere 3) search for a glass of water. 2. Afterwards nobody picked up dirty dishes(only dirty dishes at empty tables). I put my dirty dishes on another(empty) table to be picked up. LOGISTICSSUCKS. 1. Condiments and etc are on this small table to the left of the register. It lacks in supplies. No ketch-up, dirty spoons everywhere, only one salt and pepper shaker, no napkins. One girl mixed her espresso and then realized she used a dirty spoon. I couldn’t find a clean spoon or a mixing stick and used a butter knife to mix my sweetner and then wasn’t sure where to put the dirty butter knife so nobody else mistaken it as a clean. 2. The line starts to form out of line. You just see tons of people cluttering the front of the register area — some trying to pick out their pastry behind the glass case and some waiting for their espresso. It just looks like a big cluster f* when it’s prime time. Will I be back? YES. Until the next review…

Felt ambitious today and wanted to try something new. I’m new to the area and wanted to find a cool internet/wifi café to get some work done. This place is super cool with great tasting food! Free wifi. Food is next to a culinary school, so the food is great with good prices. I got half and half: tomato soup with grilled cheese sandwich for $ 9. I spent almost 2 hours at this place with fast enough wifi to get work done. Place wasn’t too crowded and there were other people on their computers too, so I didn’t feel completely left out. Theres a children’s play area to the side of the café for a family friendly feel. There were outlets available along the side wall seating areas. There were enough charging stations available. Staff was great. Service was great. The cashier recommended me this dish since the dish I wanted to order was on the breakfast menu and wasn’t available anymore(past the breakfast serving time). Overall, a great experience. I will definitely be coming back to get some work done!

This is a really neat place in the art district of Culver City. There are three doors. One for«rookie» aspiring chefs, another for people have moved further into the program, and the café. My wife and I ate in the café, but got a quick look into the other rooms, too. The kitchens were bustling, which was cool to watch. You order in the café and it is cooked up in the kitchen next door by the chefs. I ordered the cod-fish sandwich with cole-slaw on brioche bread. My wife ordered the chicken salad sandwich. Both plates came with a spinach salad. Our sandwiches were great. The cod was cooked perfectly and the bread and cole-slaw complemented each other well. The chicken salad sandwich was fresh with big chunks of white chicken. Everything was very tasty. Although we both liked what we ordered, we would change the salad. The salad consists of leafy greens and dressing. No other veggies, cheese, or nuts were added. That was disappointing. The 2 plates and 1 drink(we received a 2nd drink free with a Unilocal coupon) came out to $ 30. That seems a bit pricey for 2 sandwiches to me, but that may be perfectly fine for the LA crowd. It was worth the stop, even if you just check out the cooking classes and attached kithens.

I was able to try a couple of their menu items during an open house and I was impressed by both. Their pretzels are perfect, right consistency and flavor, they have several dipping sauces, cheese was my favorite. They also offered a chicken bacon avocado wrap and that was also delicious. i will be coming back for the wrap as well as the pretzel. Their menu has a variety of items, as well as drinks, it has plenty of seating with a couple tables outside, nice casual ambience, and the workers were very friendly.

Came here as part of the open house for the cooking school next door. It’s a cute little quaint spot to relax at and enjoy quiet time or grade pastries, sandwiches, and a drink. During the Open House, staff was friendly and welcoming. I was impressed by the fresh tasting turkey and avocado wrap. Yum! The pretzel… a-a-a-mazing! It was soft with the right amount of fluff, just how I like them. The homemade cheese dipping sauce was finger licking good. I also went back for seconds(sshhhh…) and tried the pretzels with the Dijon mustard. Still, yummmm! I’d definitely go back and enjoy this place; grab a refreshing drink, eat a pretzel or sandwich, and chill with my wifi. Thanks, Chefs! Open House well done!

Pretty good pastries, very tasty croissants and decent coffee. Hot breakfast isn’t served until 8:00, but they serve pastries & coffee prior. Service is a tad slow. I really enjoy their quiches when they have them, I believe they said they were temporary, so hopefully they come back some day. Also have had their red eye burrito, which was pretty tasty.

This is a super cool find of a coffee place in Culver City. It’s next to the New School of Cooking establishment next door. They serve Stumptown coffee roasts which I know is found in a lot of places all over town but it is one of the better quality third wave coffees. Not only that, the pastries and baked goods are made right next door at their cooking school so no hauling it in from other bakeries since they bake their own fresh daily. They have tables and bench seating and the place has a really comfortable vibe to it. Free wi-fi of course for those who want to do some work while enjoying some coffee and treats. Parking is the only issue with the street meters being the old fashioned type where it only takes coins so make sure you have some coinage on you if you want to park here. Otherwise, you could find parking as well on the various neighborhood side streets. Service is friendly and I’m definitely coming back again when I’m in the area and looking for a cup of Joe and a place to do some work.

New School of Cooking Café is a coffee bar and pastry shop adjacent to the cooking school. Their pastries are freshly baked every morning by culinary students. The café menu includes plated bistro-style breakfast and lunches, in addition to artisan coffee roasted by Portland-based Stumptown. We ordered a latte, cappuccino, and croissant muffin for breakfast. Many culinary schools specialize in preparing and baking pastries, so I had high standards for New School of Cooking’s creations especially when they are sold at inflated prices($ 2.50 to $ 3.50). Good news is that the café’s fluffy croissant-muffin did not disappoint. The most memorable feature was the pillow soft texture of the«muffin tops». The student who had prepared it made sure the croissant dough was lightly buttered and not sprinkled with excessive cinnamon sugar, while still maintaining semi-sweet flavor that pairs well with morning espresso. It was the best pastry so had in a while. Bad news is that today’s cappuccino and latte demonstrated that coffee is not the café’s forte. This café attempts to imitate Stumptown shops, by providing cold brew coffee and 2 varieties of Stumptown filtered coffee stored in airpots. They use Strauss Barista milk, but what good is high quality rich milk when it’s steamed, frothed, and poured with unmatched level of expertise with respect to baristas at Stumptown. There’s lots of visible bubbly foam in the cappuccino and latte. No effort was even made to pour latte art. Service was subpar today, as the barista might have been half asleep at 9am. He asked if the order was for here or to-go, confirmed it was for dine-in, and still managed to serve our espresso in a plastic cup. I kind of regret tipping the lousy guy. Because of the substandard coffee, New School of Cooking Café did not give me a positive impression, although I did find the laid back Saturday morning ambiance to be very attractive. This café would be enjoyed by locals looking for a place to have a quiet Saturday morning chat or a comfortable chair to read the newspaper.

I am so excited that the Café just opened up a couple of weeks ago! It’s part of the cooking school(New School Of Cooking) next door. This is also where Tea Forest Café/Bulgarini Café use to be. To be honest, I’m glad they are not there anymore. Anyways, It’s very nice and clean there. They have several delicious pastries to choose from. They even have Ice Coffee on Tap! Check out the picture! It’s pretty cool seeing coffee coming out from there and not my favorite Craft Beer! I ordered a Vanilla Nonfat Latte and it was perfection! For a business that just opened up this morning, Customer Service was awesome and my coffee was perfect! Thank you!!!
