I got my magic straight perm done here, and I was happy about both result and her service. I also bought a hair treatment that was being sold for 60 dollars on Amazon for a way cheaper price, which is always a plus. She also gave me a 20 dollar hair treatment for free when she saw how unhealthy my hair ends were. She was very knowledgeable about hair care and was kind and helpful throughout the whole process. However, there are A LOT of customers coming in and out, so make sure to make an appointment before going.

I came to Grace for a haircut and a digital perm back in December. My hair was dyed, damaged, and thin. I asked her to chop off about 4 or 5 inches of my hair before doing the perm. After two months, the curls are still in tact and still bouncy as the day I got it! My hair has never felt this healthy!

Ok I’m a guy and guilty of going here for the past 2 years. So what? It’s hard to find a decent hair stylist who knows what she’s doing and doesn’t charge you an arm or leg for it. Grace is cool, I feel like I go to my Korean friend’s house everytime I came here. She treats you like family and knows her stuffs. I rarely speak to her and she knows exactly what to do and gives me great advices with my hair. $ 12 for haircut, not bad!

Grace is so awesome! Ever since I moved here, she is my go to hair stylist! She cuts my hair every time just the way I want it, short but not too short. My sister also had a haircut here, and she said that she really enjoyed the look of her hair! Will always be satisfied of what my sister and I receive here!

Kinda not what i expected for the hair. Well, the English is a bit hard to understand and the owner keeps talking on the phone or other guests while I made an appointment and waited. I have a life, ok. i have other plans and don’t think that I can sit there and wait forever. And the effect of the perm is really meh. and felt like ruined my hair, so nvm.

I had a bad haircut before coming to grace so I came for a little bit of a touch up. I have naturally curly and frizzy hair, and Grace recommended a digital perm. I am SO happy with the results. She knows what hair would fit best with you. Will come here often, and price is not bad!

It’s been over a week since I had my hair done by Grace and I am loving my digital perm! A woman cannot complain when getting so many compliments from people on my perm.
This is my second time going to her since my hairstylist was out of town but I think I just found myself a new hairstylist! My mom has been going to her forever and she always told me to go to her but boy am I glad.
What I like the most about her is that she knows a lot about the hair and will make sure that your hair is not get damaged.

Grace was able to fit me into her schedule with only a couple hours notice. I decided on a whim to get a digital perm. All the places in LA were quoting me $ 200+ which is ridiculous. Grace charges $ 80-​$ 85. What a deal! The 30 mile drive from LA to Cypress was totally worth it.
Not only are her prices reasonable, she knows how to work with Asian hair. She recommended that I trim my hair before getting started because the ends of my hair were unhealthy and the bottom half of my hair was too heavy to support curls. So, Grace trimmed my hair to give it more volume.
Loved the way it came out! Grace also gave me great advice on how to take care of my curly hair, how to wash and dry my hair, and what products to put in my hair so that the curls don’t go flat. It is evident that she has a lot of experience with digital perms.
Will be back!

Very reasonably priced for a perm! Grace charges you half of what is charged elsewhere! Very happy with my perm! Grace is honest and knows what’s best for your hair — great service!

This review is long overdue. My hair is thick, straight, full, and went past my shoulders. I got tired of curling it so after some research, I decide on a digital perm for some loose natural waves. So so happy that I found Grace! She was very professional, knowledgable and super sweet– and doesn’t charge an arm for her services. Fast forward about 2 months later, I cut my hair up to chin length and it actually gave my waves a fresh and bouncier look. Thank you Grace!

I got a haircut here, and I left feeling very happy with the results! Grace owns High Sense Hair salon and is the only stylist here, so you have to be sure to make an appointment beforehand. I got a shampoo, hair treatment, and 7 inches off of my hair for $ 20 which was awesome! Grace did a great job, and she gives a lot of advice about hair care and products. Don’t be deterred by her salon which has outdated furniture and décor.

I came back 7 months later for an overdue hair trim. Grace and I got into a conversation while she trimmed my hair to a decent, healthier length about a decline in small businesses. I showed her the Unilocal reviews for her business and she was incredibly grateful that people were taking the time to leave great reviews. She was under the impression that people only reviewed based on terrible experiences. As a token of appreciation, she gave me a free hair product which was sweet of her! I’m not saying go and write Unilocal reviews for free stuff but for her outstanding service and product, I’m more than happy to be a regular (as regular as I can be while living out of state) customer of hers. It’s refreshing to see that business owners, like Grace, appreciate the lengths that some of their customers go to ensure their success.
As for the overdue trim, it was only $ 18 for my long hair. I think she starts off at $ 15 for a trim but she has to evaluate the situation before setting a price. Fair. Beats paying $ 35 or $ 40 or whatever it is people pay to get their hair trimmed these days.

I go to school out of state, but I always wait to get my haircut from Grace when I visit home. Today, I got my first perm from her and had another amazing experience. I got a digital perm and she gave me an awesome deal on it. And it came out just the way I wanted with pretty loose curls, which is especially hard to do with my short hair! Posted a picture under photos! Highly recommend coming to Grace, she does a beautiful perm and also at an awesome price!!!

One week later review — I’ve been wanting beach waves for years now, and I’m tired of curling my hair all the time; finally looked into perms that could give me that rather than the 80’s tight twists and I found this place on Unilocal — reviews said no more than $ 95 and I thought — How could I go wrong. And I totally didn’t — Grace did an AMAZING job !! I got there around 4:30 and the whole process took less than 2 hours. I had veery straight thin hair and now I have nice waves with volume. I’ll definitely be back !

The second time was disappointed. The first time was good. I thought I finally found a good hair styler neqr my new home. But today, after she cut my hair, all I can say about my new hair style is ugly. I wish she can do better job, even charge the double price.

Not that good as advertising on Unilocal.I let my hair cut at her shop. She was very rush to cut my hair same as cut a cloth. No washing and nothing treatment as said. She said «So busy, sorry. Next time». I thought it is busy but it doesnot mean that she could finish like that. I tried and never comeback. Normal cut and nothing impressive

I’m a very satisfied customer of this place! Just a disclaimer though, it is a one woman show, but she still manages to work efficiently.
I came in for a perm and a trim which came out to a total of $ 95 which is an awesome price compared to the other places I’ve been looking up. It took about 2 hours and she very thoroughly went through how to take care of my new perm. It didn’t come out exactly how I pictured in my head but I was impressed at how nice it came out and I guess all that matters in the end is if it looks good on you.
I got the «big» curls which actually is still a little small but I know the curls flatten out after time passes.
Overall I highly recommend this place for either a simple haircut (even my quick trim came out nice) and perms!

This review is WAY overdue. I’ve been going to Grace for over 6 years. I got my very first Japanese magic straight perm from her. Grace is a magic straightening perm expert. She specializes in this and digital perms. I actually moved out of state for awhile, and made the mistake of going to someone local. They charged me double what Grace charges me and did a terrible job!!! After that, I learned that not all magic straight perms are not the same. I started scheduling trips back to OC just to see her and get my hair done.
I actually currently live in Northern California, but I still come back specifically to get my magic straight perms done by Grace. She does such an amazing job, SERIOUSLY. I’ve referred several of my friends, including those that have been getting magic straights for over 10 years with other hair stylists, who have converted to Grace because she is just that good. She is also very reasonably priced! Her price varies depending on hair length and other factors, but you won’t find cheaper and better than her.
She really has a passion for hair, and you can see that she takes pride in her work. She uses only high quality products and would rather take a longer time to do what will get the best outcome, rather than use mediocre products that’ll get the job done faster. She also does a complimentary hair treatment afterwards, which makes your hair feel even more healthy and soft. Other salons usually charge extra, but not her!
I’ve also seen her cut hair for mentally disabled clients, and she is so gentle and sweet with them. She makes sure to explain exactly what she is doing and make them as comfortable as she can.
I am SO happy with my hair. I’m a mom, so I have no time to blow dry and flatiron my hair. I love being able to wash my hair and not have to do anything else to it. If you’ve been thinking about it, just go for it!

I actually need to go here today to get my haircut, but this is where my family goes to get haircuts. My wife and daughter love to come here, especially my daughter, who gets all types of hair designs from Grace. From all the hair salons ive ever been to in the states, ive never found one that was comparable in both price and quality of work.

I’ve been meaning to write this review, but haven’t had the chance until now — I definitely wanted to devote my full attention + effort to this review, as I want to be thorough in my details.
I went to Grace at an acquaintance’s suggestion when I expressed that I wanted a wave digital perm. I came on Unilocal and saw her great reviews, which further affirmed my decision to make an appointment with her. And I’m so thankful I did!
I have very thin, long, straight Asian hair, which stubbornly doesn’t hold any style very well. I could gunk on products in an attempt to hold curls {with a curling iron}, but my hair will naturally fall flat in a matter of 1 – 2 hours. I expressed this concern to Grace, along with my hesitation to get a perm and potentially damage my hair. She was very understanding, and proceeded to offer her professional advice on the type of chemicals and «tightness» of curls would work best with my hair.
I heeded her suggestions, and simply trusted Grace — which is what I advise everyone to do. The entire process from wash to perm to style took around an hour and a half, which isn’t very long considering the long length {mid-​back} and natural straightness of my hair. I absolutely LOVE my perm, even now at three weeks later.
While the salon may be small and seem a bit outdated in décor, Grace has the most updated equipment for digital perms. She also has a good selection of products for sale, for which she also teaches clients how to apply to hair.
Of course, another definite perk of Grace is her pricing. I contacted other salons in LA and the Garden Grove area and was quoted $ 200+ for my length hair. Here, I paid less than half that cost — Grace specifically mentioned that regardless of the length of hair, she never charges beyond $ 100 for digital perms!
One tip: Grace operates High Sense on her own; as a result, she takes clients by appointment only. Call ahead of time to secure your desired appointment slot!
All in all, my experience with Grace and High Sense was an amazing one — I am planning on going back in a few weeks for a trim to decrease the heaviness and thus help maintain my perm. I finally found my go-​to salon! So thankful!
